About
Reid's Appliance Service INC operates as a family owned repair business in Amarillo, TX since 1965. They handle service and parts for major brand appliances along with clippers, nail guns, tools, vacuums and select battery or electric lawn care equipment. Reviewers note David making a house call with a part in one instance and staff waiting past closing on Saturday in another. What Customers Say
“Wish I could leave zero stars. I dropped a nail gun off to be repaired. When I called to ask about it a week later, David was unnessecarily rude about telling me the parts factory was closed. Really just no need for him to have such a bad attitude with a customer. Was later informed he could not get parts so I picked the gun up and it was in pieces in a box. I cannot take it to another repair shop in pieces like that. When I called back to ask why the gun wasn't put back together, David was yet again condescending and rude. He said that was his procedure and I didn't pay him to take it apart and diagnose it. I would have paid for the diagnosis if he had charged me, but he didn't. I said I would not use Reid's again and he said one unhappy customer wouldn't hurt his business. Beware of this business. Nonexistent customer service with a terrible attitude. David Reid could not care less about his customers.”
“They say 7-10 day repair time for Milwaukee tools. 7-10 days turned into 45 days. All for a simple fix. Next time will just mail the tools off for repair.”
“They didn't have the part I needed, but he was extremely helpful in helping me find the place to get it from and the phone number. I look all over Amarillo and couldn't co.e close to getting it, but he solved my problem. Thanks”
“I went here a few weeks ago to look for a dryer part. They guy was more than willing to troubleshoot with me and even offered some suggestions as to what could have possibly made my dryer fail. He helped me check the parts I brought in and even waited past his closing time on Saturday for me to get there. He didn't try and sell me parts I didn't need so I really appreciated his willingness to help. I'll be going here when I need something else.”
“Would give zero if I could I groom for a living and our normal sharpener has been out of commission for a year or so so me and the groomers from the shop I work at were desperately needing our stuff sharpened when I called immediately the customer service was horrible very short and full of attitude towards me when I asked about how long it would take I was told Monday or Tuesday if I dropped them off that Friday. It was Thursday before I recieved our blades. after using them half of them are still dull and several of them smell like a cars exhaust for 16 blades I paid $182 which isn’t horrible but for half of them to smell horrible and the other half are dull and nearly unusable it was completely not worth it. If you are a groomer you would have better luck shipping these blades to a sharpener out of town you’d probably get them sooner too”
“Had my washer for over 6months because of part ordered . We finally picked it up and turned it on to try it out and the motherboard wasn’t working. That isn’t what was wrong with it . They said it would be 450$ more to fix .after already paying them 250$ and the machine wasn’t fixed . They said they fixed what I said . I said well it don’t work and the mother board did when I dropped it off. I think I pd 550$ for the washer 2yrs ago brand new . They haven’t been helpful and yes the tried calling me to pick the washer up several times . I finally did and it would not work. .”
“I had my electric Dewalt lawnmower about to 5 months to be repaired which was complete uncalled for and unnecessary and they even lost my key to it and I had to repair it myself. Wouldn’t recommend this place to fix your stuff because more than likely they going to take long.”
“Customer Service was awesome! David went the extra mile to resolve our issue with a Dune Racer we had bought for our granddaughter. He had me send pictures of the part, included me in on a 3-way call to the factory to locate the part, had the part in stock, and brought it to our house!! Thank you David---YOU ROCK!!”
“More than accommodating. Great staff and over the phone support. Fixed my very expensive Milwaukee hammer drill and small drill for less than $200. Will return”
“Excellent customer service. I took a lamp in and Blaze immediately started working on it. He had the problem taken care of while I waited. I highly recommend Reid’s Appliancex& Tools.”
“Customer service is very bad, guy name David was angry guy, do not know how to talk to guest. He can talked to guest nicely plus I am staying at business with 4 bedroom apartment and I always use this address for personal used any order I have explained but he still mad on me and I went 2nd time and he quote me double then he gave me price before and he told me to bring whole machine I took that but there are no reason to take it cause he doubled the price then first time and hoover manufacturer never print on Box Saying if you used other chemical then warranty are not valid according to them it is and user manuals and now a days who's gone aread . They Should clearly Print On Box .”
“I would recommend Reid’s Appliance to anyone wanting honest, prompt, reliable, friendly, professional help & service. I will without a doubt call upon Reid’s when I need service on my existing appliances. I prefer to do business with local companies when possible and Reid’s is at the top of my list. I highly recommend Reid’s Appliances, David Reid went beyond the call of duty to assist us with our appliance needs and service. Thank you for all your help David Reid. Sincerely John Kelso”
“The customer service here is some of the worst that I've ever experienced. The owner and employees have been rude and condescending every time that I have walked in this place or spoken to them on the phone. I have yet to get them to even look at my cordless tools that are still under warranty after several weeks and repeated attempts. Until another shop in Amarillo is handling the warranty work for my tools, I will drive to Lubbock or Albuquerque to get work done.”
“Though David didn’t have the parts to fix my Rainbow vacuum he gave me some very helpful suggestions and alternatives. I appreciate his honesty and his help toward a solution. I highly recommend him.”
“They are LIARS and THEIVES. I brought a Dyson vacuum to them a few weeks ago for repair. The younger man told me it was a clutch and would cost about $85. He plugged it in and listened to it for about 2 seconds to determine this. He also said it may need rollers and brushes. He asked for a $25 DEPOSIT..and told me that they would call with a final estimate. A couple days later, an older woman called and told me that my vacuum would cost $191+ ( NOT including the deposit) to repair. Excuse me?? That's more than $200 for a REPAIR. WHAT?? She said it would be the part (clutch), the new roller and the labor. I told her I would have to think about it..I decided it would not be prudent to sink over $200 into a vacuum we only paid $150 for USED. So, I called her and told her I would come pick it up as soon as I could, we work out of town. I sent my daughter to get it for me and asked her to get my deposit back since they did NO work on it. They told her they couldn't give it back - that it was a "diagnostic" fee. Ugh. I then decided to keep looking for someone to repair it, just to see if I could have it done cheaper and not have to just throw it out. Lo and behold, my old friends at ORE”
“I didn't actually get to do business with Reid's but they were able to refer me to a place that might have the part I needed. I really appreciate them for doing that for me even though they didn't benefit from it. The lady on the phone was extremely professional and understanding.”
“I have call all the appliance repair stores here in Amarillo Tx. Needing a drain pump. Reid's was very helpful and very kind. All the others were rude couldn't help me. Told me wrong number for GE. Bring in the part. But they could not tell me if they had it or how much it would be. Rude Short mean. Next time I will not waste my time. I will call Reid's first. So nice So Kind So helpful. CALL REID'S FIRST.”
“Fishy practices; took a drill for repair, cost would be more than half so went to get it. chuck was not the one I brought in. after arguing he brought me mine. the issue that he said was wrong was in fact NOT the problem. part to fix the actual problem (on MY PART not the one that he tried to pass off) was 20 bucks. Be dilegent as if you were getting an oil change from an unknown mechanic shop. Pay attention to what you take it, and make sure what he changes he actually changes”
“The most knowledgeable and professional staff. The very best selection of quality vaccum cleaners in town. Best vaccum cleaner service and supplies in town. Every vaccum cleaner I have ever bought was a waste of money until I shopped the quality inventory here. Not a huge collection, just a few high quality vaccum cleaners that Reids services and supplies.”
“rude people, heard them arguing with a old lady who was letting them know whatw as wrong with the carpet cleaner and what she was experiencing. The snatched 2 products of the table cause i was on the phone and took it to the back of the shop like if i was going to take it like without paying. When i left i said thank you and the guy said nothing. I think they are a bit racist. Would not gobunless u absolutely have to.”
