Wolfforth Appliance Service
Appliance Repair Technician · Lubbock, TX
About
Wolfforth Appliance Service handles appliance repair work in Lubbock, Texas. Earl Bates runs the operation as both technician and owner. The company takes calls for washers, dryers, refrigerators, ovens, stoves, cooktops, dishwashers and freezers. Reviewers reached Earl directly to set up visits for these items.
Customers described dryer repairs that involved heating elements and timer control modules. One refrigerator job took place at a construction site forty minutes outside town and required freon to keep an older unit running. Earl completed some dryer fixes on the spot with parts already in the truck and checked back the next day on a unit that needed refrigerant. Other calls covered quick diagnosis of control modules and heating parts.
Earl quoted base prices during the initial phone call and sometimes skipped extra trip charges for out of town work. He arrived the next day in several cases and called ahead when running late. Payment came up as cash or check only after the visit started, even when credit cards were offered. Service reached job sites within roughly forty minutes of Lubbock.
The Google rating sits at 2.7 from six reviews. Reviewers noted prices that rose after arrival, questions over part costs and availability, and cases where the technician left without completing the repair. DIRT Score 1.0 from 6 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Came to the house, not wearing a mask. Prices were outrageous (and kept changing depending on when you asked) just for the heating element on the dryer but I needed it fixed ASAP. He fixed it quick and already had the part in his truck so that was nice. Then I went to pay him with my credit card and he told me he only takes cash and check but didn’t mention that at all while we were on the phone. Most people don’t use cash or checks anymore! So then I’m trying to figure out where to get cash off a credit card and it was just a huge mess. He was following me around town as I tried ATMS and was finally able to get him his money. When I finally paid him, he said that the part he replaced was going to have a 2 year warrantee but I never got a warrantee paper. Will not use this company again.”
“Just good old down home service that you can trust!!! I called Wolfforth Appliance and reached the technician/owner, Earl Bates, explained our problem, a refrigerator on a construction job site out of town. We scheduled the call, he told me his base price, he completed the work at that promised price quoted over the phone (and didn't charge me a trip fee for 40mins out of town!). On service day he'd been delayed but called me to let me know when to expect him shortly and was truly the NICEST gentleman to work with. He called back to check on the unit the following day--an old one that needed freon. He believes in actually WORKING to make your old appliances work again! I will wholeheartedly recommend him. Just good old down home service that you can trust!!!”
“This gentleman came out and told me after just taking the back of of the dryer that it was a timer control module. He quoted me $390 (just for the module) off the top of his head. I told him I could buy a new one for that, so I didn't need to get this one repaired. He was sure to get paid the $69.50 for the 5 minutes he was in my house before making a quick exit. I called a parts house today & the part is $159. We will not use this company again.”
“I needed my dryer repaired and Earl was at my house the very next day, on time, and had everything available to fix it then and there. He did an excellent job and we will certainly use him again. Thank you!”
“Told us that we needed a part and that he would need to order it. He said it wouldn’t be in for two weeks. After two weeks he called and said they didn’t make that part anymore. We called another company and they said they had the part on the truck and they fixed it within hours. The gentleman didn’t seem to know what he was talking about. Please don’t use him.”
“Will not use this service again. Prices changed as soon as he got to the house and kept going up despite not having any parts replaced on the machine.”
