About

Clarks Good Housekeeping Appliance Sales and Service handles appliance repair and sales for all major brands out of their location in Midland. Reviewers described service calls for washers, dryers, refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, freezers, dishwashers and stoves, often tied to warranty claims from manufacturers or retailers like Lowe's and KitchenAid. One technician named Chris arrived for a refrigerator job, identified the issue right away, used a part he carried and finished the work the same day while also explaining the RO system. Other calls involved service charges such as one hundred eight dollars for a dryer inspection or one hundred ninety dollars for a freezer drain fix that left the unit still inoperable.

Customers reported repeated problems with scheduling and follow through. Appointments set for windows like nine to four or ten to two often resulted in no arrival, with phone staff later saying the booking was never recorded or that the company does not cover the area that day. Parts were quoted and approved but took weeks or more than a month to show up, and some technicians left after partial work without completing tests or returning. Several reviewers noted machines picked up for repair were never brought back despite multiple in person visits and calls, while others said the same unit broke again shortly after a visit or that food spoiled because the appliance stayed off.

Work happens mainly in Midland with occasional mentions that Odessa jobs are skipped on Wednesdays. Phone staff set times without offering earlier calls and sometimes gave conflicting information on the same claim, leading to reschedules that stretched into additional weeks. A few customers received next day delivery on new machines along with haul away of old units, and one noted a dryer was repaired on the spot for an affordable charge. Response times after the first visit frequently stretched out with no updates unless the customer called repeatedly.

The listed reviews show mostly one star entries focused on missed arrivals, long part delays and unhelpful phone responses alongside three five star entries that praised quick fixes and straightforward sales.

What Customers Say

“Incompetent technician, unreliable service, and unprofessional owner who doesn't care to listen and just want to get paid for non-working machines. Almost two months went by and machines are still not fixed. Called to schedule 5 washers serviced. 1. First appointment showed up as scheduled and was given the cost to repair each machine at $416.70, $349.04, $480.91, 351.69, and $303.70 via email on May 21, 2024 which included cost of parts. 2. Gave verbal approval to order parts per above cost. 3. Technician finally arrived to install ordered parts for 2 machines on June 19, 2024, after more than 4 weeks from first appointment. Technician went to work and told us to test two machines he had fixed. While testing, called technician to inform him both didn't work and he said he would return the next morning. Next day came and went. NO SHOW! FIRST TIME! 4. Called their office and was told technician would return on June 26, 2024. NO SHOW! SECOND TIME! 5. Called their office again and scheduled another appointment for June 28, 2024. Technician showed up this time but didn't manage to fix any machine and left parts inside one of the machines and wanted payment. First machin”

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Not honest and extremely rude! I have a warranty claim and was sent to Clark's. Was told they would be out on Thursday between 9 and 4 (given no option of the call before arrival). I took off work the entire day with no one showing. Called Clark's and they said they never intended to be here on Thursday and this was a mistake of Kitchenaid. I was rescheduled on Tuesday from 10-2...again, a no show. When I called again, the new lady on the phone said they do not work in Midland on Tuesdays and my appointment was never on their books. Rescheduled for Wednesday between 9 and 4. Was told I would get a call and a text an hour before arrival. By 3:00, I have received neither. The person who answered the phone said the technician had called and texted with no response from me. That is an absolute lie. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and hung up on me in the end. This is no way to treat people. I cannot see how this company stays in business.”

“Called and talked to some girl on the other line. I was told off that I was in the wrong and that the repair tech showed. My ring doorbell begs to differ. This place has extremely rude customer service and the technicians don't ever show up. Almost as if they don't want to do warranty work. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS, unless you like calling 20 times and being hung up constantly. Any 5* review is likely family or fake.”

“We called Clark’s Good Housekeeping for service on our microwave in early November 2025. They came to pick it up and have not returned our property. Since then, we have made multiple attempts to contact the store regarding its return, but our calls have gone unanswered. Each time we visit in person, the store appears to be closed. Despite our continued efforts, we have received no updates, and our microwave remains in their possession. We are extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism. If this matter is not resolved promptly, we will have no choice but to escalate it through legal channels. We hope Clark’s Good Housekeeping addresses this issue immediately and returns our property.”

“Extremely Disappointed – Avoid the stress! We paid $100 for a technician to inspect our oven and were told it would take two weeks for the part to arrive. It’s now been almost a full month, and we’ve received no updates, no part, and no response from their business number despite multiple attempts to reach out. If you value your time and money, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.”

“Called last Monday to have some come check out our microwave, got an “appointment time” Friday between 9-4. Friday came around hadn’t heard anything so I call at 230 just to make sure, was told he had trouble with his truck and was running behind but yes I am on the list. No one showed, called nothing. Still a week later we’ve heard nothing. Zero communication.”

“Save yourself a headache and wasted time!!! Worst customer service ever. If trying to schedule a service from manufacturer these guys are the worst company, ask for a different service company in advance. The receptionist has a terrible attitude, she made me go back and forth with Maytag. 4x I had reschedule service twice, the entire time she had a careless attitude as well as the technician. Don’t call to give you a heads up the just show up at the door(this was after the grumpy receptionist claimed i called the wrong Clark’s in midland) and that she didn’t have me on her schedule.”

“Technician came out 2 days ago, fixed a plugged drain cord, charge me $190. Told me to move all the frozen food to the fridge to help keep it cold. Moved all frozen food, tech turned the freezer off, told us to not shut the door and to not open the fridge door for 24 hours. So here we are 2 days later, still no freezer - don't know what he did. The frig is not working correctly either so all the food is no longer frozen and the frig food is no longer cold. Called Clarks and the girl told us they could out next Wednesday - 5 days away - to look at whatever their tech messed up. When my husband told her we can't wait that long, she got very rude and asked if she should move a $50,000 job to come sooner. Then answered herself with of course not. I am shocked by the way we have been treated.”

“This entire experience with this company has been terrible. My dryer’s heating element has gone out and I have warranty through Lowe’s and they have contracted this company to do the service for my dryer. Called Lowe’s on a Saturday and they assigned this guys, by Tuesday I had to personally call them to see if they were going to come out to look at the dryer. The lady answering their phones has a very unprofessional tone and seems to not care about how she speaks to people. I asked if they were going to be able to look at the dryer and they rescheduled me to the following Thursday between 11am-5pm. Thursday comes around and I haven’t heard anything passed lunch time I proceeded to call and the lady tells me she doesn’t know if when their person will get to my house as if she can’t make a simple call and at least try to figure something out. 4:30 comes by and they haven’t came to my house, their business hours are 5pm so assuming that they will not make it. At 4:55 the man taking a look at my dryer comes in and spends 2 minutes looking at the dryer and I’m hoping he’s a expert at these things because the “inspection” didn’t seem as in depth as I thought it would. Fast forward I’m w”

“Chris came to repair my refrigerator. He was able to call and allow me the time to meet him as I was at work. He was professional, efficient and educated me on my RO system. He repaired it quickly. I was so impressed with the service. My refrigerator is a whirlpool side by side and I have had it for almost 20 years. He identified the problem immediately and was able to repair it with a part he had on hand. I know right now in America getting parts is a big issue, I have waited 6 weeks for a bumper for my car. I am so pleased with Clark’s service. Great job Chris.”

“I added one star because I can’t add 0 stars, asked to speak to manager whom ever answered said they don’t have one. Then asked to speak to person in charge said he’s not available, Asked if I can have a name or number to speak to him. She said she’s not allowed to give out names, so that was a dead end. She was so incredibly rude she went as far as hanging up on me, DO NOT USE THEM they are super unprofessional !!!!”

“Amateur's, initially our warranty directed us to these people, they came to assess our stove, keep this in mind, the stove was leaking gas **spoiler alert**. The tech came and didn't conduct a leak test, he looked at the stove and immediately overrides his troubleshooting skills, and claimed it was an orifice, and told me he would place the order quick. None of what he said happened, I had to contact Whirlpool several times to check if the part was ordered and if it was expedited in shipping. They finally ordered the part after weeks had passed by, then the swap parts guru comes to install the part, and doesn't do a leak test after installation. Well I come home excited that we can finally use our stove after weeks of being without, so when I walk in the front door I get hit with a strong odor of gas, keep this in mind my wife was home and my 3 month old baby. If had not come home for lunch, and I normally don't it could have been a horrible ordeal. Thanks for your generous hands of safety Clark! I contacted the swap parts technician oh around 11:45 am, he told me he would get back to us immediately with a leak tester, well that did not happen either, I had to text him back at 4”

“We have a large family so when washing machine went out, I was stressed. Last time I ordered one from a different company, it didn’t come for a week. I ordered one in person here yesterday, delivered today, they hauled off my old one and and old dryer that was even part of the deal. All employees were kind and helpful and I love the small town feel of the company.”

“We had kind of a frustrating experience with Clark’s. We had to use them for our warranty claim for our dryer. The technician came out and said the part would have to be ordered and that he’d be able to instal it the next week. We didn’t hear back the next week, so I called and was told that our claim was accepted but the part would take another week to arrive. When we didn’t hear back again the next week, I called and was told that the part was still not there. This time the lady on the phone told me that the part wasn’t actually ordered until recently. The manager told me that she’d call When the part was in to schedule an appointment. Then, a couple days later I get a random phone call saying that the technician is at my house. There was zero communication. I will say the technician was very friendly and professional. The ladies I spoke to on the phone were nice enough, but customer service is definitely lacking. We won’t be using them again.”

“Company failed to fix my refrigerator within an appropriate time frame. Was told a part for a refrigerator would take 5 days to come in and still took longer than a week. They never communicated with me, I had to keep calling them to have answers. They would answer the same day though. Save your time and money and go else where. We all need our refrigerator working and their time frame to fix one is not acceptable. I did indeed proceed to go to a different company to have my refrigerator fixed. So they kept my money for coming out and opening my refrigerator and unplugging it from the outlet. Just save yalls time and money!”

Reyna Ortega

“Great place to get your appliances fixed for a really affordable price I thought I was going to have to go buy a whole new dryer these guys can fix it right on the spot”

Michael Martinez

“The service people are great. But the girl answering the phone is not worth a spit. Keeps putting me off. Tells me she will call back in 15 minutes and never does.”

Sam Riley

“THIS PLACE SUCKS. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Y’all were called to repair a washer, not only did you not repair it, you caused more damage, THEN STOLE MY MOTHERS WASHER. That same day the repair man said he would come back to pick it up he didn’t show up for a week. Called warranty to figure out what was happening since my mother was left without a washer for a week only to be told they can’t do anything since the washer wasn’t in our possession.. we tried calling to have them bring it back or talk to warranty and they refuse to answer. The last time I walked to the receptionist I asked to speak to a manager and she hung up on me. You are absolutely ridiculous for putting my mother through so much hassle. Unprofessional. If this doesn’t get resolved we will be taking legal action.”

Mellennie Herrera

“August 19- They came out to fix a Dryer $108 service charge. Said they had to order parts. August 26- I call to follow up and they are still waiting on parts. SEPTEMBER 19- I call again and the receptionist told me they are still waiting on parts. I asked her for a status update and she told me to call GE directly because the part was on back order until Late November. Offered zero help and had a "not my problem" attitude. It has been 1 month and I have no dryer and $108 less than when I started.”

Matt Dunnam

“Terrible customer service! Set up appointment with Lowes Protection Plan for Wednesday. Clark's called to cancel Wednesday and come Thursday. They do not service Odessa on Wednesdays. Clark's needs to communicate better with Lowes Protection department. So much for trying to use local service company.”
