About

Sears Appliance Repair handles appliance and HVAC work out of Richmond, Texas. The company fixes refrigerators, washers, dryers, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, air conditioners, furnaces and heating systems on all major brands. Same-day openings show up on the schedule when customers call or book online, and the work includes upfront pricing on most jobs.

Reviews describe fixes on refrigerators that stopped cooling, washing machines that shook or leaked, dryers with vent problems, freezers that needed drawer work, and air conditioners that failed in the heat. Vance handled several air conditioning calls and gave temporary fixes when parts were missing. Raymond fixed a washing machine and a dryer vent hose while wearing booties inside homes. Marcos corrected a wrong part on a microwave. Roman T. spent extra time on a freezer. Some customers noted quick arrivals and clear explanations, while others reported wrong parts shipped multiple times, estimates that changed after the fact, and repairs that left the same problem in place.

Technicians often reached homes on time and worked within an hour on straightforward jobs. Service stays inside the Richmond area with calls handled through the main number. Pricing drew complaints when labor ran higher than expected or when follow-up visits dragged on for weeks. Some reviews mention technicians checking diagrams on phones during repairs or leaving frozen food out too long while sorting out access.

The listed reviews split between five-star notes on punctual and knowledgeable visits and one-star complaints about rude exchanges, incomplete fixes, and billing surprises. Recurring topics include on-time arrivals, part accuracy, and cost transparency after the first visit.

What Customers Say

“Terrible service. I would not recommend this company.I spent $125 for a service visit, but the technician was unable to provide a clear or accurate assessment of what needed to be repaired on my refrigerator. Instead, I was told to order multiple parts and return any that were ultimately not needed. On top of that, they wanted to charge the same labor rate regardless of the actual repair required. I found the diagnostic process unprofessional and unhelpful, especially considering the cost of the visit.”

Leonardo Souza

“Raymond S. was very rude and unethical person. He did not honor the estimate I had signed and approved just a day ago. Kept saying you need to pay $200 and the estimate I signed off on was given by mistake by his colleague . f there was a zero star, I would have selected that. I do not want this person coking to my house for any services.”

Rutvi Krishna

“Technician Vance was very helpful. A part was needed to complete repairs and he was able to suggest a temporary fix while I waited, which was amazing because the heat was overwhelming and I couldn’t afford a hotel for a week until he could return. The wait time for a return appointment is the only complaint I have which wasn’t his fault.”

A G

“Mr.Vance is the best. He went above and beyond. He is very knowledgeable and showed patience and explained everything in simple language. He fixed my a/c within minutes. Thank you very much”

RINO JOHN

Naomi Williams

“Vance is one of the best experienced a/c technician I have come across. He is knowledgeable and a talented person. We always appreciate his workmanship.”

S Sehgal

“Raymond provided excellent customer service. He wore booties over his shoes to come into my home. Analyzed my washing machine problem and fixed it.”

Pamela Murphy

“Tech Marcos was very professional. Showed up on time. Even though the previous tech had ordered the wrong part, he didn’t just dismiss and leave, he attempted to fix it and was successful.”

Sara Ali

“Big thank you Mr Roman T., he was detailed and transparent in every step he took to fix my freezer. He spent all the time needed to bring it back to service.”

“Technician got to the house 15 mins earlier which was great. He came to check/repair the freezer on our fridge, he struggled to get the drawer out to check the back of the fridge, it took him a good 20-25 mins to get it done, he was constantly checking diagrams on his phone which makes me think he was not familiar with our Kenmore fridge. While he was doing this all of my frozen goods were out on the counters of my kitchen. After he got the drawer out he asked if he could use our powder room and he was there for another 10 mins aprox. The actual repair took no time but by the time he was done most of the frozen stuff was already thawing, as he was getting ready to leave he told me that because the drawer was open for so long the freezer was not going to reach the optimal temperature for 10-12 hrs!! So I am going to have to throw away/ use all the frozen foods I have in my freezer ☹️ He was very polite, not very talkative but I wish the taking apart the parts would have been faster so my food was still safe to eat. Hopefully the problem is solved and the freezer does not leak water again.”

Dani Todd

“★☆☆☆☆ Extremely frustrating experience. On two separate visits, the technician was asked not to park in our driveway so other cars could access the garage, he moved briefly, then parked there again. When he returned days later to work on the microwave again (after shipping the wrong part on 3 different occasions). He mentioned that Sears would then replace the appliance. When asked about the replacement he’d mentioned, he became dismissive and deflected responsibility, acting as if coordination was not his problem or responsibility. It has now been over a month, and Sears or its affiliate has neither fixed the microwave nor provided clear answers on a replacement. Adding to the frustration, the only access to customer service is an unhelpful phone bot with no clear path to a real person. To make matters worse, customers are asked to sign a waiver releasing them from responsibility if they damage your floors. Poor communication, lack of accountability, and unacceptable service.”

“Raymond arrived on time, determined what was wrong with our 10-year-old Sears Kenmore dryer, and quickly fixed the problem with our dryer vent hose. He tested the dryer temperature and found it was now working properly. Thanks!”

Chuck Wolf

“The technician was nice and professional. He replaced the vent. He ran the dishwasher and all was good. He left, and the dishwasher began to leak again. Technician was polite and professional, but I still have the same issue, a leaking dishwasher”

Joe Schulz

“Our Sears Tech, Hermon was clear and concise with what we need to do with our refrigerator. His quote for repair was what we expected.”

Laurel Douglass

“The repairman was on time, professional and diagnosed our refrigerator problem. Unfortunately, the repair costs were 3/4 the cost of buying a new fridge. So no repairs were necessary.”

Lynette Beard

“Technician was very polite and informative. I feel I gained some valuable knowledge.”

Jo McMinn

“My Kenmore washer latch component needed replacement. Sears Customer Service provided me an average cost estimate of $250 for a washer repair, depending on the issue. The tech arrived on time and took 15 minutes to diagnose the issue and switch out the the part. He lingered around for a while afterward and then presented me the bill which was $115 for the part and a whopping $279 for labor, which is outrageous. Another repair company contacted me too late with an estimate of $225 total for the part and labor. To Sear’s credit, they said they will review the charges and possibly issue me a partial refund. If they follow through, I will update this review to show a more positive rating.”

Thomas Brown

“The good news is the technician knows how to change part. The bad news is the washer still has the same problem. and still need to be repaired.”

Mark Towle

“Said the machine was fixed we put in one load and started doing an exact same thing. It did before not fixed told me he leveled the machine he did not tell me he had to download software he did not very unhappy with his technician very hard to understand part for delivered to me that he did not install. Some Were and some were not”

Richard Wilson

“This repairman knew his stuff! The last repairman failed to follow procedure and opened the front opening washer door with the unit half full of water and got upset when it got on his clothes and shoes. This repairman, from A&E / Sears Appliance Repair tackled the job, cleaned the filter and pump and got everything back on line and we are back in shape. Clean as a whistle and back in place! Thank you Marcus!!”
