Heartland Cabinets
Cabinet Maker · Arlington, TX
About
Heartland Cabinets operates in Arlington, Texas, and focuses on cabinet design along with installation for kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. The company handles custom layouts, finishes, and hardware selections through staff such as Ezekiel in residential sales, Pam as chief financial officer, and Mr. Scrudder. Customers meet designers to review plans and approve drawings before deposits are paid and work begins. Specific projects include stained shaker styles, painted modern cabinets, islands, pull-out drawers, and repairs on existing units like camper doors.
Reviews describe design meetings that produce the exact layouts requested, followed by long waits after deposits. Ezekiel receives repeated calls and texts about missed installation dates that were promised multiple times. Nick dealt with a warranty issue on sliding rails for a garbage cabinet where parts arrived only after payment confirmation and delays. Shonda saw a custom finish chip within a year, leading to touch-ups that failed to stop the problem. Positive notes from Lisa and Michael highlight clean results on kitchen upgrades and master bathroom work with good paint coverage and stain matches.
Work proceeds with initial consultations that run long but later lack follow-through on timelines and site visits. Phones often go unanswered with full voicemails, and emails or website submissions receive no replies even after multiple attempts over weeks. Fred visited in person to reach Pam and Ezekiel yet received no callbacks. Denise was told small kitchens fell outside their scope during a sales call. Service stays limited to the local area with no clear hours stated beyond standard business contact attempts.
The business shows a 3.4 rating from 27 reviews. Recurring topics cover strong design outcomes alongside repeated contact failures, schedule slips after payment, and warranty handling that requires customer persistence.

What Customers Say
“Let me start off by saying the product is very nice and exactly what we wanted. I wish I would have read all the reviews before we decided on Heartland, we met with the designer and got a final draft, we signed off on it and paid half down, This process started towards the end of December 2021, we were told it would be 4-6 weeks so we started the demo process since we were removing walls, moving the sink from one wall to another, etc. After 6 weeks we reached out to Ezekiel, he would contact us after we repeatedly text or called, there was always a excuse and was promised 3 different times of when they would be installed, Heartland never once reached out to us first , we would call and leave messages, text, even went up to the office a couple of times, didn’t seem to bother them at all, always a excuse. Every date promised, I would text Ezekiel inquiring the day before installation to see what time they would be here and it would always be oh it won’t be tomorrow, it will be next week, 3 different times. Long story short, 6 weeks turned into 12 weeks by that time we were so frustrated and only got them installed in 12 weeks because I threw a fit. We were led to believe the guys t”
“We purchased new cabinets for our home remodel, the initial communication was good. The closer we got to install the communication was poor to say the least. Install took place, the quality was decent, the installers were great. We had a warranty claim, our garbage cabinet sliding rails fell apart, the garbage cabinet was extremely difficult to open and close. I contacted Heartland via email, text and phone, received a text from a new employee three days after my initial call. I was told my warranty was up, and the parts were $30. I asked to have the parts expedited, over a week later I received a text to pay for the parts before they could be shipped which I agreed to. Three days later I received a text asking for a photo of a check as Heartland doesn't take credit card payments. Heatlands warranties are non existent, their customer service is terrible.”
“DO NOT use this company. The single worst company I have ever worked with. It was a nightmare to get through the design process and schedule getting everything installed. They literally do not ever respond to you. They don't answer the phone and their voicemail is always full ... and even if it isn't, they won't return your call. I have called, emailed, submitted via the website contact section and reached out to the CEO directly on LinkedIn easily 100 times. They simply don't respond. The single reason we did the redo in our laundry room was for a pull out divided drawer for laundry. They showed up with a large pull out drawer that was not built correctly. I was willing to work with them and went ahead and paid ... big mistake. It would take them about an hour and $100 to correct the problem. It's been over a year and a half and I can't get them to contact me.”
“Heartland was able to give me the exact design and layout that we were looking for. I was very pleased with this aspect of their company. The price was very high in my opinion, but we were crunched for time. The initial consultation went very well. Heartland is very thorough in this process. Some of the things that were said in the consultation did not happen. There timelines were off and we had to push back our build by a couple of weeks. I was told, the guys are on their way, and no one would show up. This happened a couple of times. Also, we were supposed to have another meeting and view a 3D model of the project. All we received were emailed plans. It is hard to visualize your cabinets when you are looking at over 15 pages of plans. My painter had to do several touch-ups to fix many imperfections in the cabinets as well, but this may be typical with paint grade cabinets. My advice, shop around first. For the amount of money that we payed, I would have expected more individualized care.”
“Do not use this business. I paid a $5,000 deposit, which Mr. Scrudder and his CFO agreed to return after a referral source that they proceed actually told me she could NOT recommend using them and after they were unable to provide a single address where they have performed similar work to what I had hired them for. Over several weeks, I was told repeatedly my refund check was in the mail. It never was. I was promised it would be returned repeatedly. Mr. Scrudder stopped responding to my inquiries and no one at the business will answer the phone or return calls/email. The work I paid for is also not being performed. Now, I have no bunk beds and I am out $5,000.”
“Let me begin by saying we are no strangers to building new homes, this is our 6th custom home. Before selecting a custom home builder this time we visited local cabinery companies and selected Heartland. We felt we had selected a quality company. But talk is cheap. When it came to designing our cabinets and building our cabinets it was a completely different company. Our first visit was scheduled for 9:00, the rep did not arrive until 10:15. During that first visit we continually asked, is this standard for our builder, we were assured it was. After meeting for more than 5 hours we were told it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get into drafting. After 8 weeks we finally saw the first set of plans, after two additional revision it was time to get the cost. The estimate was $17K over budget our builder and us alike were astonished . While this company has lots of technology, their staff is slow, expensive, and over committed on large commercial jobs. I would not recommend them to anyone after our experience. They simply are long on promises and extremely short on delivery. Do not use Ezekiel if you do decide to go with their company.”
“Outstanding quality and service from Heartland! Heartland crafted and installed new cabinets in my existing home in the kitchen and master bathroom. A major upgrade from my original cabinets. Heartland has extensive experience in the design of cabinets – from my traditional, stained Shaker kitchen cabinets to my modern, painted bathroom cabinets. Both types are clean designs and exceeded my expectations. They showed me three cabinet doors in my style and material with stain variations so I could select the stain. The stain color was perfect and the paint coverage was terrific! I love the island they built for me – it’s an attractive complement to the cabinets. And the team even designed a linen cabinet with shelves/drawers and installed it in my closet. The Heartland team partnered with my contractor to establish the schedule, take measurements, and install. I didn’t have to be involved in those details at all! Once the counter tops were placed on the cabinets, the team came back out and installed all the knobs and pulls. The job was done on-time and on-budget! The price was a value for the outstanding quality. I recommend Heartland and will be a repeat customer the n”
“I was very picky when choosing a company to go with for my home. I wanted someone who would treat my home like it was their own, that is exactly what I got with Heartland. You will never see better craftsmanship or have better customer service. Everything was done in a timely manner and I couldn’t be happier with my choice! I’ll definitely be recommending them to anyone needing custom cabinetry!”
“I have been trying to contact this company for several weeks. I finally drove over there. I talked to Pam, the Chief Financial Officer. She gave me her card, took my name and number and gave me Ezekiel , VP Residential Sales. She said that she would have Ez contact me. I waited 2 days...no call. I finally called him....left message, no response. Tried for the next three days. Also left msgs with Pam. They lost my business. I will find someone else to do my kitchen cabinets and bathroom”
“I paid extra for a custom finish on my kitchen cabinets. A year later, the finish started to chip. When I called them to try to have it rectified, they came out and did touch ups. It continued to chip and Heartland refused to correct the problem. I would not ever use them again.”
“Called the office was put through to the sales department the gentleman that answered the phone Ezekiel was rude abrupt cut me off before I even explained what I needed and then told me my kitchen was too small for them to bother with. I asked him if he did bathrooms and he said yes and I askef what's the difference between a regular size bathroom and a smaller kitchen and he said we do bathrooms but we don't do small kitchens like yours I said well can I send you my design and have you look at it first. He then got exasperated and rudely spelled out his email address. I went over this company's website and found the cabinets I absolutely wanted in my kitchen but the rudeness on the phone turned me off to this company due to his rudeness. Even if you don't want my job there's no reason to be rude about it”
“These guys are fantastic, I broke one of the cabinet doors in our camper yesterday morning and took it to heartland. They were able to repair the door and get it back to me the same day. I was able to get home and put the cabinet door back on before my wife even knew I broke it. A plus Heartland, thank you guys very much.”
“Our rep worked very hard to meet our expectations, even though there were a couple of bumps along the way we a very pleased with our cabinetry and I would use them again in the future.”
“We picked cabinets with Marcus and Pamela last week and they were so helpful and we didn't feel rushed! It was a good experience! Thank you Heartland!”
“I have been trying to get in touch for a mess they left me with ..”
“Everytime I try to call nobody answers the phone I even left a message still no answer”
