Carney Custom Cabinets

Carney Custom Cabinets takes on cabinet projects from its shop in Denton, Texas. Randy Carney runs the operation with his wife Cindy. They build custom pieces, match existing cabinets, add drawers to furniture like entertainment centers, install mud room inserts, and create built-in units for bedrooms that include features such as jewelry drawers. The crew also handles kitchen work that involves design input and coordination with other trades.

Customers report having Randy match upper cabinets on prior installations, fit drawers into an entertainment center, construct a mud room insert, and finish a bedroom cabinet that met exact storage needs even before final stain and paint. One homeowner had him design five cabinets including three stand-alone units and two wall-mounted ones after careful discussion of requirements. Another described a full kitchen remodel where Randy corrected a structural issue found during demo, then set up tile, plumbing, electric, plastering, and painting work through outside contractors. A long-term client has returned for numerous jobs including those same cabinet additions and reports consistent results.

Randy tells customers about his current workload and the chance of delays so they can prepare. He refers subcontractors and stays in contact with them to keep projects moving. The crew shows up polite and ready to help on site. The shop draws steady demand, which means people sometimes wait their turn but accept the schedule because the outcome holds up.

The shop holds a 4.7 rating across 11 reviews. Reviewers commonly note solid craftsmanship on custom work and straightforward dealings with Randy and the team. A smaller number of comments mention timing slips on follow-up for minor items like a single door or drawer part.

“I absolutely cannot say enough great things or give enough stars for this shop. Randy and his wife Cindy are the sweetest people you could ever meet for starters and the work that comes out of that shop is phenomenal. We have used Randy for numerous projects and we have never been disappointed. His crew is polite and helpful always. We have had Randy complete our upper cabinets (which he matched perfectly), add drawers to our entertainment center, build in a mud room insert and last but not least add a custom built in cabinet to our bedroom. This bedroom piece still needs stain and paint but it meets my every need, including custom made jewelry drawers! This business stays busy for a reason. Exceptional quality from the build to the install.”

“We are very happy with our new kitchen, thanks to Randy Carney and his excellent team of professionals. We had originally obtained a quote from a contractor who would coordinate all the subcontractors needed for our remodel and thought the pricing was high. Our friends and neighbors used Randy and spoke very highly of him so we asked him out for a quote. Randy was very honest about his work load and the possibility of delays. This helped us be prepared and not get frustrated when there were delays. I was in no hurry to use someone I trusted. Randy was able to not only refer us to excellent subcontractors, but communicated with them along the way to be sure we were moving along smoothly. Randy is a man of his word and creates quality, custom cabinets. We are so thankful to our friends for recommending him and we will be referring other customers to him in the future.”

“Randy did an exceptional job. He worked with us on our design and budget, set us up with other contractors for tile, plumbing, electric, plastering and painting contractors who did magnificent work, and created a beautiful kitchen. He even corrected a structural problem with our kitchen during the demo and remodel.”

“Randy Carney and his crew performed outstanding service at my home. They designed five cabinets: three stand-alone and two wall-mounted. They listened carefully to my needs and built exactly what I wanted. I have used their cabinets ever since.”

“I've dropped off a cabinet door to be replicated almost a month ago. Russ told me it would take about 3 or 4 days to complete. I received a call about six days later saying that the doors were ready and I can come pick them up. I was unable to go pick them up due to being very busy for over a week. When I got there to pick them up I was told they had not been made yet and the person that called was wrong. well I was there I dropped off a piece for a drawer that I needed to be made. I was told by the owner that he was sorry for the confusion and both pieces would be ready the next day. of course I did not receive a phone call the next day. I plan on going up there 3 days later after my discussion with the owner I was told they still were not ready. I took my pieces and left.”

“I have known and done business with the Carney bunch for over 25 years, and there is not another cabinet shop that I would allow to do any of my jobs. They are in high demand, so you have to get in line, but they are more than worth the wait.”

“Excellent work and great bunch of guys.”
