The Shelf King

The Shelf King operates as a cabinet maker out of Dripping Springs, Texas. This family business focuses on custom pull-out shelving that fits inside existing cabinets in kitchens, pantries, and bathrooms. Chez and Whitney handle the work, with Chez building the units and handling installations while Whitney assists with scheduling and customer questions. They also list carpenter and shelving store services and cover areas including Austin along with Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Blanco, Travis, Caldwell, and Burnet counties.

Customers call them for pull-out shelves in lower kitchen cabinets, pantry units, and bathroom storage. Reviewers describe issues like hard-to-reach items in deep cabinets, sagging shelves, and wasted space under stoves or in non-standard sizes. Fixes include glide-out trash centers, two-tier setups, spice racks, and vertical trays that pull fully forward. Derek measured cabinets and installed units in one case, while Chez measured, advised on layouts like avoiding overhead drawers, and completed installs in others. Homeowners report better organization, stronger hardware that handles weight, and added usable space without major cabinet changes.

They respond promptly after calls or Nextdoor contacts, provide itemized quotes, and schedule work with clear dates. Installs finish the same day in most cases, leave no mess, and use full-extension metal glides with dovetail construction. Pricing comes in lower than national chains, with half paid upfront and the rest on completion. Service runs across the listed Texas counties, with quick turnaround from order to install noted repeatedly.

Reviews total over two hundred on Google at a five-star average, with repeated mentions of solid materials, clean work, and fair costs from homeowners who gained easier access in their cabinets.

“QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL, COST EFFECTIVE 🏡 I saw The Shelf King on Nextdoor Neighbor and it was exactly what I was looking for. I contacted explained what I was needing and looking for and set up an appointment. Derek came out asked me what I was needing and what I was hoping to use the drawers for which was definitely sorting that you should discuss. He measured all the cabinets that I would be purchasing drawers for and provided me with an itemized cost. Paid 50% up front and scheduled installation. Derek came out and installed the drawers and I was very impressed with the quality and ease of opening and the weight limits that each drawer has. The hardware is QUALITY and the best part all 9 drawers that I requested this time were installed in about an hour. I would highly recommend The Shelf King for quality, value and definitely no pressure sales or upselling. Totally has changed my ability to access and put all the things that I need within reach. Here are a couple of photos of before and after🏡👍🏼👍🏼”

“Shelf King transformed several of our kitchen cabinets with custom slide-outs, and we're thrilled with the results. They turned a standard cabinet into a glide-out trash and recycling center, converted a single-shelf cabinet under our stove into a two-tier slide-out, and replaced our extra-deep cabinets (which were nearly unusable) with slide-out spice racks that are a joy to use. The quality is high, everything feels durable, and we've gained a ton of usable space. One thing to keep in mind: because each unit is fitted to your existing cabinet, you'll give up about an inch of width on each side. It's a small tradeoff for how much easier everything is to reach. Highly recommend!”

“I knew our bathroom pullouts would be nice (based on their online gallery and our sales consult) but we were not prepared for just how amazing our shelves would be. They are beautiful, the craftsmanship is stunning, and the install was perfect. Thank you, Shelf King, for literally transforming how we manage our bathroom storage! Ok, now how can they help our kitchen storage… 😉”

“We could not be happier with our kitchen cabinets. Adding all the drawers just made organizing everything a breeze and I love the added storage space. Quality is top notch. The entire process was seamless and Professional. Highly recommend The Shelf King!”

“Chez is so sweet and meticulous in his work. We are thrilled with our new slide-out shelves and the extra shelf space they created. I would definitely recommend The Shelf King for your slide-out shelves. Whitney is delightful to work with also. Happy to support a family-owned business too!”

“The shelf king installed pull-out shelves in our pantry cabinet, which is a non-standard size. It had always been difficult to use the space effectively and to access items in the back. The shelves have made a huge difference. We can now easily see and reach everything, and we're able to utilize the space so much better. The entire process was smooth and efficient, and the pricing was very fair. I would highly recommend them, especially if you have tricky or non-standard spaces to work with.”

“Highly recommend! We love this upgrade to our kitchen cabinets! Reasonably priced, custom made cabinet drawers. Top quality durable material, no corners cut in construction or installation. Quick build turn around. Unbelievably fast install. Very professional, built and installed when promised. And the install was clean and not intrusive. After he left no mess and could not tell anything done until opened a cabinet. The drawers are SO MUCH BETTER than the stock cabinets. They hold so much more, and make access and organization so much easier. So glad we called the Shelf King!”

“They were great to work with. The shelves and hardware are first rate and solid. Cannot beat the price and quality. Less than half the cost of the large national shelf company. Install was very quick and we love the pullouts. Highly recommend”

“After living in our home for almost 40 years our shelves began to sag and one collapsed. After much research, we contacted Shelf King and Chez came out and gave us so much good advice (such as don't put a drawer over your head) and alerted us about shelves that could be replaced rather than have a drawer so the dishes would fit. Chez showed up when scheduled and had the job finished quickly. We could not be more pleased with the product and his work. Thanks so much, Shelf King.”

“Please engage Shelf King to help you access lower cabinet items and better organize your kitchen or bathroom cabinet life. “I am so thrilled with my glide out shelves. I have so much more usable space in my kitchen. They are made with quality. Each shelf is strong and has a bumper to eliminate the shelf hitting the cabinet door. Chez was professional and efficient. I couldn't be happier. I would recommend this company to anyone who is thinking of enhancing their cabinets.”

“The Shelf King added pullout shelves to our cabinets and pantry giving us a much needed upgrade to our kitchen storage. The craftsmanship is excellent and the shelf pullouts are robust. The quoting process was simple and no-nonsense. Installation was timely without issue. All in all an excellent experience and good value.”

“First class family business!!! If you’re looking for a handmade, top quality, custom product MADE IN TEXAS, look no further! So easy to work with, great communication, seamless from start to finish. Not only do I have more storage, but gone are the days that I have to get on the floor just to pull out a skillet!”

“Chez did a wonderful job installing all the glide outs in all my lower cabinets! I love them and am so glad we selected him to do the job! I highly recommend him! Great guy and awesome service!”

“I lived in a home where all the lower cabinets in the kitchen had glide out shelves which were great. I moved to a different city into a new home and quickly discovered that the cabinets did not have glide out shelves. It was very frustrating. I began to inquire about having them installed and was referred by a professional custom cabinet builder to the The Shelf King. They are great. They knew exactly what I wanted and custom built the shelves that fit exactly my cabinets. The shelves are made out of premium wood and high-quality materials. The pricing is straight forward and the service is fantastic. I recomed them without reservation.”

“Fantastic, I can’t say enough about how pleased we are with our pull outs. Whitney and Chez are wonderful to work with, very available to answer any questions. They came when we were told they would be here and finished on time. No mess no clean up afterwards. The pull outs are so well made, I love them.”

“Super Impressed with The Shelf King! From professionalism to workmanship, I am so happy I went with The Shelf King as opposed to the big chain competitor. Not only did I save A LOT of money with The Shelf King, but the quality is top notch. The consultation and installment was a breeze, and communication was outstanding! I needed a taller shelf to hold small appliances like a stand-up mixer but wanted to use as much space as I could in that cabinet, so, he was able to put in a shorter shelf where I can now store cookbooks, placemats, and other miscellaneous things. Also, I was super excited that he was able to turn the dead space under my burners into another drawer. The cabinet under my bathroom sink was a definite must because I have so many hair and face gadgets, along with beauty products so now everything looks so neat and organized. I am SO happy with all the space I have now! Thank you thank you Shelf King!”

“The Shelf King provides the best pull out kitchen shelving I’ve ever seen. We had new cabinet doors and drawers installed and we needed to upgrade our pull out shelves in the lower cabinets. Chez and Whitney are consummate professionals. Every step of the process was enjoyable which is very rare to say about a home improvement project. Chez made some great suggestions about our configuration and was able to give us larger pullout in some of our double cabinets.”
