What Customers Say

“Pick any company other than Overhead Door. We ordered a couple residential doors back in April. Quoted 3-4 weeks. Finally got half of my doors in August. Was told 2 panels of the big door were lost in shipping. Was told they would be rushed. So they installed the doors with mismatched panels. The date continues to get pushed back and my garage doors are two toned. The newest estimated date was December 17th. That date has come and gone and still no doors. Every month they continue to get pushed back another month. Their customer service does not exist. I am beyond furious. I would NEVER order from or recommend a company that does business like this.”

“Purchased a new home in September 2023, Overhead Door installed a garage door and opener. The door never operated correctly. First service call the Overhead door repairman said I used the wrong lubricant; he sprayed the door with their lubricant and left. No improvement as the door still pops loud. Second service call the repairman replaced a roller and ground down the edge of the lift arm. The door opened smoothly 2 or 3 times now has a loud pop sound again. Very disappointed.”

“This company is shady, dishonest and rude. They will actually hang up on customers that call with a complaint. Please read the entire review before using this company if you don't want to be ripped off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I purchased a garage door opener from Home Depot and paid for installation. This was a new build home, so it was a first time install. When the tech arrived the first time to install the opener, he did not have a tall enough ladder to do the job, so I had to reschedule the install. They told me that they could come back 3 days later and install it and that I did not need to be there which I thought was OK since I had asked them to call me if there were any issues. I did not hear from them on Thursday so I thought I would have an operational garage door when I got home from work. To my surprise it did not work because the cord was not long enough to reach the outlet in the ceiling. No one called me to let me know there was an issue and when I reached out to Overhead Door Corp, I got a big run around and felt like they were hiding something from me, which they denied when I asked them what are you not telling me. I talked to several people in Denver and none of them”

“I called Overhead Door out because my remote quit working, and because I have lived in my condo for 11 years and door never serviced. The service man came out, whom I have to say was very nice and polite. He was there 12 minutes, sprayed some stuff on my door, pressed my service button on the wall and set my new remote and that was it. I was shocked that they still charged me $125.00 for a service call for 12 minutes of time there. (12 minutes was verified when I called the local office to voice my complaint). I am 64, on a fixed income and I guess I assumed the $125 was per hour, not for 12 minutes and I would be charged accordingly. The total I paid was $173.15 which $48.15 was for the new remote. I am just again, voicing my opinion and believe this is WAY TOO MUCH to charge for such minimal work done.”

“Justin was recently here to install our new garage door opener and he was just great. He was curtious and professional and explained everthing there was to know about our new system. We live in South Florida and would recommend highly.”

“Creepy experience, woman pulls up to our house and starts taking pictures of it. When asked she gives a business card, Wayne Dalton garage doors. We are fine, our garage door is great, we don’t need anything, why are you taking pictures of my house unsolicited? Called the number on the business card and it just rang and then went silent. Now I’m wondering what kind of scam this lady was running. Have the business card and can describe the woman and her vehicle if someone wants to contact me.”

“This experience started off great with our 1st contract over the phone to schedule appointment and 2 nd was visit to our home all going well I was told we needed a custom door we paid 1/2 down. The installer was a nightmare we received a call from my daughter who was home when he arrived she was upset said this man is scary started telling her we had the wrong door she explained this was ordered by your company we already had a door they said we couldn’t use, it’s a custom door we paid extra for so that would be your company issue. He told her we can’t get the garage door opener installed due to door size, she advised him what her parents paid for and he should call the office. He was upset was speaking to her very rudely. My husband and I had to go to the home which was about 1 hour away when we got there he continued to be rude my husband tried to see what was the problem and he was very short so we locked up the house and took our daughter away until he was finished. His manager made up all kind of excuses saying her was from a different country and if you knew him you would know he meant no harm that’s just how he talks he’s very short with people. So knowing that you send him ”

“My garage door is under warranty and needs servicing because the sensors are off. Been waiting 2 weeks for them to respond to my calls. Even had the builder contact them. They don't respond. Customer service and customer response is poor.”

“Terrible Customer Service, I called to purchase a new garage door opener. Get a young lady on the phone, and she acts like she's got better things to do besides her job. The installer was ok, but seemed like he was in a hurry.. He put a screw through my garage door, and 2 days after the install the wall mount opener quit working. It's been 5 days since it stopped working, I called the girl that answered the Phone said they were really busy and they would call before the install guy could come back. I will Never recommend this company to anyone. Terrible Customer Service David Eldred Springdale, Arkansas”

“Ordered a door back in the spring/early summer. I put a big down payment on the door at the salesman’s request. I had to cancel the order two weeks later. It’s now September 1st and still no refund check. I called multiple times and get a run around. Now I’m waiting to meet with an attorney to get my refund.”

“I purchased a garage door from Overhead Door in 2007. It comes with a warranty for as long as I own the house. Unfortunately, the door has begun to rust at the bottom. I have been told that the warranty is only good if the rust goes all the way through. That seems strange because if I wait long enough it obviously will. I would rather not do that…hmmm!!”

“I have a place in Caldwell Texas. My door quit working on the remote and you had to hold button in to function. They came out and fixed that. After they eft the door would open and throw breaker when it topped out. They came back and ipped breaked. It worked once. Charged me $286.00 and left. It continues to throw breaker. Turns out limit switch isn't working and motor continues to run when it tops out or closes. This throws breaker. They haven't fixed it yet. Update. A repairman finally came. He repaired door but said the last two repairmen screwed up the unit so bad it might need replaced. Repairman called his boss and told hin, in front of my neighbor, this. Said how bad it was from their botched attempts. The manager has not called me back. I think he should be fired for lying to me about repairs and other repairmen required to take refresher classes. If they fail, fire them to”

“While I was out of town on business, one of my springs on my overhead door broke. My wife called and someone came out to look at it. It cost us $128 for the visit and then a quote of $367 to replace it. I called another company who came out looked at it (for free) and then quoted us $260 to replace it. Can you explain why your company charges $235 more for the same service?”

“We have been dealing with overhead door of Stephenville for about three months. Out of four doors three we dented and scratched. They could not deliver a roll up door that wasn't messed up. Then one of the employees threatens my wife on our property and we had to have sheriffs department come out. Come to find out the doors they were trying to sell us were not even overhead door brand. They think we owe them , excuse me you better figure out who the customer is.”

“We needed our garage door reprogrammed. They said it would cost $35 and when Diego came out he reprogrammed it in 2 minutes. He told my husband he needed $260 for labor. I pushed the wall unit and it worked. He then said it would be $99 additional. I told him I was told $35 and then he said just $99 plus cc fees. —RIP OFF!!!—DONT CALL THEM”

Lora Smith

“TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, MAIN OPERATORS VOICE MAIL BOX FULL - NO DIRECTLY AVAILABLE UNLESS YOU KNOW THE PERSON'S NAME YOU ARE CALLING. BASICALLY GOT HUNG UP ON.”

Peter Finnegan

“Website does not allow customers to contact them. Contact page says fill out form below but there is no form, just a blank page. Can't submit complaint about lack of a warranty for a rusted out door.”

“The most rude and disrespectful company I have ever dealt with. Paid for service and items not received. Ignores phone calls. Tell you they will be out and never show up. Use any other company for better results.”

Robert Purkey

“this is the corporate office for overhead door company. All of my business with them have been great. Always on time and provided after hours service to secure the facility.”

Lorne Marcum

“After two minutes of being told to wait in English, Spanish and French, to have my model number and to be at my location with a ladder to trouble shoot a problem, the voice message said there would be a forty minute wait time to ask a question. Absurd.”
