West Texas Wood Shop, Inc

West Texas Wood Shop, Inc makes custom cabinets in Midland, Texas under owner John. The shop turns out kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, built-ins, commercial millwork and contractor cabinet packages along with handcrafted woodworking. They also stock domestic and exotic hardwoods, slabs and other lumber and serve as the authorized Texas Wildlife Supply distributor for the region. John and the crew handle milling logs and kiln drying on site as well.

Customers come in needing maple boards for cabinet fronts or baltic birch and get help loading the right pieces after the wood is checked for quality. Others bring tree logs to be milled and dried or ask for a big slab to be cut into smaller pieces for a project. Reviewers mention getting suggestions on wood that fits the job and advice on steps they had overlooked before starting.

The shop sits at 4511 W Industrial Ave and works across Midland, Odessa, Greenwood, Stanton, Big Spring and the Permian Basin. Reviewers note solid pricing, quick assistance with loading and selection, and straightforward answers from the staff. Orders require a non-refundable deposit in some cases and all sales on custom items are final once placed with the supplier.

Eleven customer reviews all give five stars. The same points come up again and again: wide wood selection, friendly and helpful people, and John’s knowledge of the material and the machines.
