Wester's Custom Built

Wester's Custom Built handles cabinet and custom woodwork out of Mooresville. Walter runs the shop and builds mantels, tables with benches, butcher block countertops, shelves, ceiling beams, storage boxes, and other pieces for homes and businesses. Customers send him sizes, finishes, and ideas, and he turns out the items to match what they need for fireplaces, dining rooms, workshops, and offices.

Reviewers describe jobs that cover custom mantels built to exact lengths and distress levels, along with large tables and benches that serve as centerpieces in businesses. Walter has also made sturdy boxes to organize marketing materials, countertops that match specific workshop needs, and shorter shelving units with extra space for bins and equipment. One job combined ceiling beams with a mantel, while another produced an antiqued chest and a second custom table after the first one worked out well.

Walter keeps in touch from the first contact through delivery or pickup. He answers questions, sends progress photos during staining, sticks to the timeframes he quotes, and often finishes ahead of schedule. Prices stay fair according to the people who hired him, and the work reaches the local area with straightforward dealings that lead to repeat orders for more mantels, tables, and counters.

The shop earns consistent praise for solid craftsmanship and reliable service across many jobs. The Google rating sits at 4.9 from 159 reviews, with recurring notes on quality builds, clear updates, and pieces that fit exactly as planned. DIRT Score 4.7 from reviews on Finds.

“Walter created a perfect piece for my home. I needed a shorter length than normal but with generous spacing between shelves to hold office equipment and toy bins. It had to fit in a small area by the back door. Wanted a primitive rustic finish that would still look nice indoors. Exact fit and finish and great price!”

“I could not be happier with the antiqued chest Walter sold me. He was an excellent communicator and was quick to respond to my questions. When I seek furniture again, l will look for Walter first. His booth is D-35 in the antique mall in Mooresville. I’m so glad I checked it out and I think you will be too. Quality, professionalism, AND a reasonable price. Also, the folks at the mall were helpful—they loaded my chest and made sure everything was good and safe.”

“Walter made us a custom fireplace mantle and was phenomenal to work with. He was very responsive, honest, timely and fair on his pricing. I figured it was going to turn out pretty well but it was way better than I expected. The craftsmanship and staining made it look just like an actual chunk of wood someone cut 50 years ago. Very pleased and could not recommend enough. Will try to post better picture ones it’s mounted”

“We are extremely pleased with our fireplace mantle. Custom made to the size we needed. The mantle is hollow and light weight, easy to hang. Yet very durable and has the look of a vintage log mantle. I would highly recommend Wester's.”
