“I found Austin Joinery on line and after a couple of conversations and e-mails with Matt, I requested a desk and bookshelves for my home office. Both turned out great and were priced fairly for the quality and craftsmanship. More recently, we went back to Matt to talk about a file cabinet for our home office. We had no intention of buying a custom-built file cabinet but after looking on line and in a few stores, we reached out to Matt to talk about options and prices. We just took delivery on our file cabinet last week and it looks and functions great! Worth the wait and definitely a higher quality piece of furniture than we found on line or in stores. “Matt is a true artist when it comes creating and building wood furniture. He built a beautiful bureau that is a one of a kind piece. He worked with me to include the elements I wanted, and then in a style that would go well with other pieces I had. The workmanship is outstanding in all areas. I had him then build two low and long bookcases, to fit under the windows, with the same design features. I have received many compliments on all the pieces. He also did an entire built in desk/work station for my home office. He interviewed me as to what my needs were and then put a design together. He made great suggestions for the wood/finish of the desk, the types of file drawers, the pullout keyboard tray, the printer station, etc. Wall shelves were later added in a unique layout. Again, the workmanship is outstanding. While Matt does refinishing, and again beautiful work with such attention to detail, the pieces of furniture that he designed and made are real treasures in making my home complete. He is also honest and timely in his dealings with his customers. He is great at communicating important stages of both the design and the construction, as well as delivery and insta”

“We ordered a table from AJ. The table was fairly priced and the workmanship and wood selection were good. Our issues were with the design of the base (not functional, too wide), limited service offering, and the customer service. Due to covid19 and restrictions with site visits by contractors, we had issues collecting the right dimensions via remote support from our cabinet maker and their design shop. Once our kitchen bench was installed we realized the dimensions they recommended for the table top were about 4” too long for the space. Be aware Austin Joinery does not do modification services or follow-up consultations (offered to paid for both services). We found another local shop with awesome customer service that has a full service offering and has been able to work with us to fix the table top as well as correct the width of the base to allow enough clearance for our feet and knees.”
