About

J Kraft, Inc takes on custom cabinet jobs from San Marcos, Texas. The company has operated since 2003 and supplies cabinetry across the Houston, San Antonio, and Austin markets. Work covers built-in cabinetry, wall units, and full custom kitchens. Each order gets handled as a separate build from the wood selection stage onward, with the same group managing design, production, and install.

Homeowners report solid results on custom home builds where the cabinets offered plenty of style choices and the crew finished the work as needed. At the same time, one new-construction project showed repeated install shortfalls that stretched from December complaints into May. Drawers sat out of line, sections arrived with only primer instead of paint, trim and shelves were left out in places, and some surfaces had loose skins or patched spots that still showed overspray inside.

The outfit keeps lead times workable while giving direct attention to each order through the full run from raw material to final placement. Materials and fit receive steady focus from the designers, technicians, and craftsmen on staff, and the service stays hands-on rather than rushed.

Google shows a 4.2 rating across five reviews, with comments split between cabinet quality and install fixes that required extra trips. DIRT Score 2.2 from 5 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

“The technicians who came out were courteous and professional. However, quality control needs improvement when installing your cabinets in new construction. After multiple visits, our cabinets are finally, mostly “there.” However, it is now May and we complained about these issues in December before we closed at the end of January. We had drawers so crooked our five year old could see it. Also, parts were not painted and only sported primer, though we were told it was just “grout overspray.” Trim was missing under one section. Shelves were missing. Some cabinet skins were attached poorly. One had a hole that was patched with a rubbery substance. Over spray inside cabinets was not cleaned. The cabinet above our stove touched the ceiling in one corner and hung quite low on the other corner. The light rails above our stove were not square with one another. Most problems are now fixed at last. However, I was told today that J Kraft had to “pull the trigger” at some point and consider the cabinets to be to standard. I want it understood that our complaints were not picky. If the painter had to come multiple times, it was because painting had not been done properly the first time or becau”
