“I purchased two exterior doors (Finer Doors brand) from this location and had them professionally installed. On the first rainfall I was getting water intrusion from what I thought was under the door. It was found that the door sweeps for both doors were deformed and letting light and water in. I contacted Home outlet and they referred me directly to Finer Doors. Once I contacted them, they quickly sent out two new sweeps. Before those sweeps arrived, more rain came and I watched one of the doors leak through the lower seem. I again contacted finer doors and had to submit a warranty claim. They made every excuse to not cover the door and accepted no responsibility. Their opinion was that I should apply a silicone sealant to my brand new door to correct a clearly defective product. I was getting nowhere with Finer Doors, so they referred it back to Home Outlet. I was extremely frustrated with this because it clearly was not Home Outlets fault and I didn't want them to take the fall for it. I spoke with the Manager Ted Mallon with whom I had met when I purchased the doors. He explained that Finer Doors wasn't covering anything, but he personally wanted to try and make the situation ”

“I was finishing up a major remodeling project and stopped in to Home Outlet to check out their inventory. From the moment I walked in the door until the time I left there was a negative - almost hostile vibe. Not ONE employee (all men, by the way) asked if I needed help or had any questions - and I was prepared to spend a lot of money that day. As a single woman it was SOOOOO uncomfortable. I tried to ask about a sink and was a given dismissive, gruff, answer. I asked about cabinets and a different guy was also rude. I took some time to look around but the store gave me the creeps and I wanted to leave asap. Home Outlet, it is 2025, and there ARE actually women walking around out there who actually have jobs (!), earn good money, and are even allowed to own their own homes these days! This might shock you but it’s true! If your staff is going to behave like a bunch of Neanderthals you’re going to miss out on good customers. I’ve shared my Home Outlet experience with every woman I know in the Midlands, and across social media, because the rudeness was so over the top. THIS STORE DOES NOT RESPECT WOMEN so if you’re thinking of shopping there keep that in mind.”

“My husband & I went to Hone Outlet in Columbia, SC to purchase new cabinets. I had been told the day before to come in between 9:30-2 & someone would be happy to help us. After looking around, we asked for assistance to purchase cabinets, flooring, countertops & more. I was told that we needed to leave & that no one was available to help us. I could text them my measurements & that they would get back to us next week. The man who assisted us was VERY RUDE & missed out on a very large sale. We then went to Lowe’s & purchased everything we needed for our WHOLE HOUSE renovation. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! We will not be back again.”

“Nice store for house renovation needs. Got a sink and vanity combo and a faucet for a really good price for the size! The staff was super nice and helped us load the heavy box into the car and also allowed us to open the box to make sure the top wasn’t damaged at all. If I need anything else similar I’ll be going back to this store!”

“12 years ago my husband & I found this store when we were building our home. We outfitted almost the entire interior with quality items that are still serving us well (cabinets, entire bathroom & kitchen, wood flooring, tile & slate). Over the weekend when choosing where to go for an add on bathroom in the basement we decided to go back, since we had such good luck there so many years ago. Andrew was very accommodating and efficient in helping us with our purchases & even helped out with changing out an item (oops, our fault not theirs) after the sale. Same manager was there that helped us out 12 yrs ago! Great to see a business still going strong & doing right by customers consistently. Side note..... did I mention the prices are very reasonable ?”

“We had a great experience with Home Outlet, specifically with J.D. (Justin). We are remodeling two bathrooms and selected two vanities and tops with sinks. One of the vanities had a manufacturer's defect, but J.D. swapped it out with no problems at all. Two days after getting the items home, my wife and I decided that the countertop color just wasn't fitting out plan, so we went back to Home Outlet to exchange them. Well, the tops we wanted weren't available in one of the sizes we needed so J.D. said he would email corporate to ask about availability, but it turned out the item was on a serious backorder. I thanked him for his time and decided my wife and I would figure out another option, but J.D. called later that same day to say he would be happy to sell me the display model if I wanted it. It was in perfect shape! Now we have the perfect combination of vanities and tops for our new-to-us bathrooms, and we will definitely shop at Home Outlet more in the future. Oh! And the prices were great, too!”

When a customer ask for help more than 3 times and has to wait over an hour, then you get snobby cause my wife had to cut the carpet herself and you treat her like she’s not good enough it shows what kind of people really work here. Y’all need to do a better job with your customer service. If you go here plan to wait a while. Management really needs to tighten up. Sad when asked for manager no one showed up.”

“I'm back a few years later with more praise for my friends at Barton's Home Outlet. They were a wonderful resource when I renovated my home about 6 years ago. In an unexpected twist, 2021 took me back to Home Outlet after a small plane (!) collided with my home. The resulting fire and water damage wrecked the kitchen and other areas. Home Outlet helped me update my kitchen layout and order the cabinets I needed to replace. They also had great tile choices in stock. Ted and Jesus, the manager and asst manager, have been there a long time, know their stuff, and are incredibly helpful.”
