“Bad Review for Ron - Solar Automatic Fence Installation I strongly do not recommend hiring Ron for fence installation. I paid $2,730 for a solar automatic fence, which was completed on 7/28/24, with a 5-year warranty and a promise to call him directly for any issues. Unfortunately, this has been nothing but a nightmare. Immediate Issues: The gate wouldn’t close properly on day one. Despite being promised two remotes, I only received one and had to wait a week for the second. Repeated Malfunctions: By 8/1, the fence stopped working. Ron attempted to fix it on 8/2, but never gave me control over how long the gate would stay open. It was initially set to 30 seconds, which caused my gate to close on my Lexus, damaging both sides. After insisting, he adjusted it to 90 seconds on 8/3. Ongoing Problems & Ignored Messages: 8/4 – Remotes stopped working. 8/6 – His son had to come help. 8/9 – Fence stopped working again. Ron said he’d call the manufacturer. 8/20 – Gate wouldn’t close. Ron ignored my messages for days before finally responding, asking for photos, and claiming he’d schedule a technician. 8/29 – After failing to show up, he ran an extension cord across my backyard to power ”

“Not at all happy with this so called “MR. HANDY MAN” business. The woman person on the phone can’t stop talking over you to get the correct information that has to be related to the person assigned to do the work. I specifically told her that I just wanted a bid / estimate of what it was going to cost to do what it was that I needed them to do and she sends this guy to my house thinking that he was going to go ahead and do the job right then. The contractor was totally misinformed and I was confused to what was going on. Also the contractor wasn’t too experienced. I could tell this by the way that he was doing things. Things that you definitely shouldn’t do and should know better not to do. I’m searching elsewhere. SMH. 🙄🤨😡”

“While service was done, and done well, it was extremely overpriced. Only reason I let them proceed was they were already there and I needed the project done ASAP. I think the reason it was so expensive is that it kept getting outsourced - I highly doubt the person who did the work was working for Mr Handyman. The first guy who showed up to do the job said he never got the photos I submitted or the job description, even though I had submitted it through the website and told the reservation lady what it entailed. The guy who showed up (in a Mr Handyman van) said that Mr Handyman required two people to do the job - he wasn't even allowed to work on it by himself. Second guy showed up a few minutes later in a luxury car and proceeded the paperwork, THEN said he wasn't who was going to be working on it and the guy would be by the next day. The next day, a guy shows up who hardly speaks English in a personal vehicle, by himself, and says he can do the job on his own.”

“I found Bobby Handyman thru Thumbtack and was impressed from the beginning. I had a fast response and constant communication until the appointment a few days later. Bhoudan even arrived a little early to rehang kitchen cabinet doors and fix a drawer. He was professional and knowledgeable and I will use this service again in the near future.”

“We had an excellent experience with Chad from Mr. Handyman of Burleson. I was skeptical at first because their answering service is not local. But that service routed the call to the local office, a local person did the scheduling, and Chad was fantastic. A former teacher who is a licensed tradesman and very knowledgeable. We told him we preferred a DIY solution but weren’t sure what to do. He let us know our current situation was not up to code (a big surprise, but we confirmed his information later), and he suggested an affordable solution and instructed us in the best way to go about doing it ourselves if we chose that route. We paid $75 plus tax for the service call and also got the quote for using his services to do it versus DIY and it was about $150 cheaper than a quote from another company, including his cost of supplies. Overall we were very impressed. He told us that they require 10 years of experience for all their handymen and put them thru rigorous vetting/testing before approving them to work in the field for their franchise. They have people licensed for a variety of different trades, including plumbing. We will definitely use them again.”

“Ramon, our technician, repaired a water damaged ceiling in our shower, replaced a damaged piece of drywall in our hall closet, and replaced a water damaged cabinet base under the kitchen sink. Ramon completed those tasks in around three hours and the results were amazing. We will definitely use Handyman again for any future home repairs.”

“Raymundo was great! He showed up on time - well, actually a little early! He installed 2 bathroom fans that we had already bought. One turned out to be an all in one fan, light, and heater - all on one switch. : ( Raymundo was able to reconfigure it so the fan didn't suck the heat out of the bathroom. And he showed me how to disconnect the heater so I can still use the light in the Texas summers! He let me know that there would be a bit of a mess when he cut into the ceiling to install the fan, because our blown insulation would fall from the attic. But he cleaned up everything, so I wouldn't have known any work had gone on if I hadn't seen it. : ) 11 out 10!”
