“I recently had Contreras Construction paint my house inside and out. I received several bids from different companies within Ventura County. I chose Contreras Construction because they were the most knowledgeable. They took the time to explain to me several things that every other company didn't. They pay attention to detail and don't rush through the job just to finish it. I'm very picky when it comes to colors and they were very patient with my mind changing. I would most definitely refer them to all of my friends and family. I'm really enjoying my new home.”

“At first, LC came across as honest and approachable, but once the project started, it quickly unraveled. His initial bid was competitive, but mid-project he pushed for a significantly expanded scope - likely due to inexperience and poor planning. At that point, switching contractors was no longer realistic. He also quoted prices and later walked them back, calling them "typos" or simply saying he couldn't honor them. It felt like bait-and-switch. The workmanship was poor - it led to a water leak. He even suggested reinstalling a broken dishwasher known to have leakage issues. That’s not professional judgment. He required me and my tenant to sign blanket waivers after deposit has been paid and just two days before start date — the kind no other contractor I’ve worked with has ever asked for. What concerned me most was being asked for full payment while there were still unresolved issues that clearly needed fixing. When I raised concerns, he mentioned the possibility of filing a lien against my home - which I felt was a disproportionate response to feedback. I trusted him, and that trust was clearly misplaced. “Ethical, honest, and skillful contractor. I am very happy with the work Mr. Contreras completed at my home. His bid was fair and reasonable ~ he kept his word each step of the way. He removed, replaced, and painted a very large pergola that was riddled with dry rot. Mr. Contreras is licensed and insured. He had to replace a very large rotted beam about 18 feet up from the ground. He knows how to work safely! I highly recommend Contreras Construction. It is very rare these days to get quality work at a fair price!”

“Contreras Construction is now my go-to for paint, repairs, and design ideas. I recently had my house (exterior) painted by Lado and to say I was impressed is an understatement. Power wash and prep (including repairing stucco, fascia boards, and joints) and three color combination of an 1900sf home took him just over a week to complete and in time for the holidays. Great communication regarding the bid, start date, and throughout every step of the process. My wife and I had an idea of white trim around our vinyl windows. He painted one window trim and had us compare which one we liked better (we didn't go with white trim around window). It was cool to see he had insight and passion and didn't act like "it was just a job". He was professional and very reasonably priced. Currently there is coupon for paint on their website (as of 12/16). I plan on painting the interior in the spring as well as repairing my patio cover and I will be calling on him again.”
