Clay Freelen Custom Builders
Electrician · Arlington, TX
About
Clay Freelen Custom Builders works as an electrician right out of Grandview, Texas. They cover electrical jobs across the area for homes and properties where owners need reliable power without running into code headaches or safety problems. The crew stays local so they know the ground and the kind of setups common on Texas properties, whether that means running new lines during builds or sorting out issues in existing structures. Homeowners in Grandview call them when power questions come up because the company keeps things straightforward and gets the work done to meet inspection requirements every time.
Electricians here handle panel upgrades that often fall in the two to four thousand dollar range when folks add heavy loads like air conditioners or extra appliances that strain older systems. They fix outages, replace bad breakers, and run circuits for workshops or outbuildings that show up on rural lots around Grandview. In summer heat the crews see plenty of overloaded setups from constant cooling demands plus storm damage that knocks out service. They show up for sparking outlets or buzzing panels, shut things down safe, and make sure wiring meets the rules so insurance stays valid and fire risks stay low.
Customers keep coming back because the work holds up under daily use, response times stay quick on both regular and after hours calls, and the pricing lines up with what gets quoted upfront. Communication stays direct with clear explanations on what needs fixing and why. Those points line up across the feedback and produce the overall mark. DIRT Score 4.36 from 84 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Purchased our cabin from the location in Tx, it was built in the facility in Kentucky. Extremely frustrating process with BOTH locations. I had to babysit the secretary (in Ky) when the plans were going for approval and the plan didn’t have some of the items our contract had in it. We were waiting for changes to the final plan (they didn’t have can lights at all in the living room) for weeks before approval when I get a email saying they were waiting on us to approve. I told them we were waiting for changes we had discussed weeks prior and I’m not approving until the changes were made which apparently the secretary forgot about and it was sitting on her desk. Once delivered, we are missing a hose bib. Mini split units I paid $8,000 don’t work properly and make awful noises all day everyday. Every 10-20 seconds. They tell me to call the a/c dealer, dealer says call Leelands. In my opinion their customer service is non- existent and they do not stand behind their product. They string you along promising to “take care of it” and then ghost you. They have time to respond to reviews (I left one for Kentucky also which they responded to pointing fingers at the a/c place they hire ) but not to make a phone call to us which we have repeatedly asked for, so incredibly unprofessional. I would love to delete my reviews if they will take care of their customer but this seems the best way to communicate at this point.”
“My wife and I recently explored building with Leeland's, and while we ultimately chose a different path due to budget considerations, I wanted to recognize Anthony Neal for the outstanding experience he provided throughout the process. From our first conversation through the final quote review, Anthony was responsive, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping us find a solution that worked for our needs. He took the time to answer questions, provide detailed information, and explore different options without ever being pushy or making us feel pressured. Although we weren't able to make the numbers work on our end, our decision was strictly financial and not a reflection of Anthony or the quality of service we received. In fact, one of the hardest parts of our decision was knowing we wouldn't be working with him moving forward. It's rare to encounter someone who represents their company with such professionalism, integrity, and customer-first attitude. I would not hesitate to recommend Anthony to anyone considering a project with Leeland's, and if our circumstances change in the future, he'll be the first person I call. Thank you again, Anthony, for all your time, effort, and guidance. We truly appreciate it.”
“Leland's did an awesome job on our 1200sq/ft. cabin! We've had multiple engineers comment on how well built it is, and we've been very happy with everything in the 1+ year since it was delivered. Unrelated to Leland's, we hired a GC for our foundation who turned out to be vastly unqualified... So, our journey has been quite rough. But as we recovered, Leland's did everything they could to help when we needed it. On multiple occasions they went above and beyond. As for other comments made here on Google, be sure to look at how long ago those were. Our experience was great and communication was top notch. 👍”
“Driving 5 hours to see the Leland's Cabins site in Grandview, TX was quite an experience! Within the 24 hours, of which I spent the nite before driving back home, I had the layout drawn up and all materials picked out to build my forever home. There have been last minute decisions and questions on both sides, but all have been IMMEDIATELY resolved. Karissa has had to deal with me on the phone and that is saying something! Not that I'm difficult, but just very chatty :D Knowing Karissa has my back, along with the rest of the team, I can rest easy knowing all is going well. My cabin will be completed and delivered soon; I can't be more excited! Thank you, Karissa, for being an A, #1 people person :D Well, I've been in my "Forever Home" for a year now. Some of the pics are of the 1st few months of it's existence and I have now had time to make it my own. I find myself in awe every time I come home. So many others who have visited also rave about the beautiful all pine wood walls and the layout of the rooms. I love my new home! The added screened-in porch makes evenings in Southeast Texas a favorite place to hang out. (No mosquitoes to bug you!) Have some land with nothing on it? Need a fantastic place to live? “We took my wife’s sister to look at the Cabins at Lelands in Grandview and were given the tour by Mark. We were very impressed with the quality of workmanship and materials. I have a good bit of experience in building a home, construction and repair of our homes over the years and recognize quality when I see it. Mark is very knowledgeable of their products and is easy to talk with. They don’t cut corners and have very high standards for their houses. If you are in the market for a small, quality, reasonably priced and comfortable house come see Mark. He can design a house to fit your needs. My SIL may finally be making her choice.”
