About
Credence Electric operates out of Manor, Texas as a local electrician outfit that handles residential electrical work with a focus on solar power setups and battery storage. The crew takes on jobs ranging from basic wiring fixes to larger energy projects that help homeowners cut ties with the grid. Shane stands out as the main point of contact in most jobs, bringing in teams that handle installations without leaving messes or causing extra headaches for families. They work in a straightforward way, showing up when promised and tackling whatever electrical issues come their way in the area where storms and power outages hit regularly.
The team puts in solar systems that include a single inverter paired with two batteries and up to twenty two panels, leaving space for future additions as needed. Shane meets with homeowners to hear out their plans for whole home battery storage or full solar arrays, then lines up the crew to get the work done without delays. One job involved commissioning a new solar setup that let the owners generate their own power right away, while another had Shane sorting through unexpected problems on site by explaining options clearly and making adjustments on the spot. They stick to scheduled times and keep things moving so customers do not have to hover over the work.
Homeowners keep coming back to the reliable communication and solid follow through on electrical installs, with Shane and the crew getting credit for listening closely and delivering what gets discussed without extra pressure. Reviews note the quality of the solar and battery work plus the way issues get handled as they arise, though a few point out bumps in the process that affected the overall mark. The score lines up with steady performance on most jobs mixed against occasional rough patches that customers flagged early. DIRT Score 3.87 from 19 reviews on Finds.

“I'm not a fan of negative reviews, but the experience I've had with Credence has been pretty bad. Sadly I should have followed my gut and called things off early but Shane seemed like a decent person and I overlooked things that should have been red flags. I reached out to have a whole home battery backup system installed from EG4. Shane gave some suggestions and we settled on setting up my system with a mixture of EG4 inverter equipment and a battery he suggested. I know that end of last year things were pretty busy with stock and companies for these system since the tax credit was ending, but Shane assured me that we would be good by the deadline. I reached out periodically between about Oct and Dec to get updates on equipment arrival and each time he would say it's on it's way. The first bad taste i had was the sudden "increase in price" for the battery that he suggested, he said he'd eat some and requested I help make up the difference for the rest. Days before the deadline he shows up with the equipment, but not only do i not have the Inverter i requested, but he didn't even have the battery he requested i pay extra for. I never got an update or a heads up that the inverter wasn't available and just got a line about how he's had bad experiences with EG4 and this one is better. I asked if he's used this inverter before and he says yes. we do the install, the Inverter's not working to charge the batteries via AC coupling. He says he'll reach out to the manufacturer to get it rectified. I then get asked to update the inverter with some horrible and incomplete directions, and it bricks the inverter and i have no power in my house for a day, He then asks me to go outside to my utility meter and pull the meter and cut the tab, was extremely uncomfortable with that task but i was desperate to get my home back up and running for my family, come to find out that's illegal as well without a permit. (another thing that i asked if i needed and he stated that I'd be fine since I already had solar installed.) Shane comes back, we try to bring it back to life but no dice so (about the only thing that i feel was done reasonably) he replaces it for another like unit and we do the update with better instructions and files for the new one. mind you the AC coupling setting still isn't working correctly but he says he'll reach out to them again. I also don't have admin app access to the system i bought and it's (still) under his company name. i get an email with the manufacturer included for troubleshooting and after a few responses back to the manufacturer he basically just disappears and i'm stuck with a system that doesn't work that he clearly had no experience with deploying in the configuration that he was installing this system in. It's been months and I've repeatedly and respectfully reached out numerous times via calls/texts and get no answer. his voicemails full so you can't leave any messages. The pattern that frustrates me the most is that throughout the whole process the lack of forthright honestly about what he was selling, and why these decisions mattered was extremely dishonest. I still can't access my system to control it via app because I still don't have admin access, the system will not work in AC coupled mode so my solar won't charge and adjust as needed and i have to walk into my garage multiple times a day to adjust things to just make it somewhat function. I'd avoid this company like the plague. Honestly I'll probably end up removing the inverter for an EG4 as none of the functionality that i need is available and the manufacturer and Shane has been no help and unresponsive and outright ignoring my requests for help or at least full access to what I paid for. I also to this day don't have any way of providing proof of ownership of the products i bought other than a contract that he sent me to sign. so Good luck with me getting any warranty work done if needed.”
“Just got my new solar power system installed and commissioned by Credence Energy. So happy to have everything up and running. It’s a good feeling to be able to make our own power and not be so reliant on the grid. We ended up with a single inverter, 2 batteries, and 22 panels with room to add more if we want. The team from Credence was professional and knowledgeable. We are glad to have worked with them and really pleased with the end results.”
“Shane with Credence Energy has been great to work with! Never pushy and listens to what you want and goes above and beyond to make what you want happen. And nice knowing that he shows up as scheduled and the employees he brings on-site don't make you worry about if you need to leave your wife and kids home while their here working. Not only our contractor but feel we have gained a friend as well through the experience!”
“Shane did a great job. Explained things clearly and took care of any issues that came up. I’ll use him again on other projects.”
“Shane and Credence Energy did an incredible job doing an energy assessment for us and building us a system to meet all of our energy needs. We are a couple months in and love our panels, our electric bill is almost zero, we are unaffected by neighborhood outages and Shane has continued to remain available to educate and assist us if we’ve had questions pop up. During the installation, communication was good and the crew worked from sunrise to sunset nonstop! I also loved that the owner is onsite during the installation! Thank you!”
