Tate Heating & Air Conditioning Inc
Electrician · Big Spring, TX
About
Tate Heating & Air Conditioning Inc operates as electricians from their location in Big Spring, Texas. Homeowners across the 79720 area turn to crews like theirs when wiring fails under the strain of long hot summers and sudden wind events that hit the region. The work centers on repairs to panels, circuit fixes, and connections that support cooling units running nonstop in local houses. Electricians handle calls from properties where older systems meet daily demands and weather exposure creates frequent outages or tripped breakers. They cover the practical side of keeping power steady for families who live with the realities of Texas heat and infrastructure that needs regular attention to avoid bigger problems down the line.
The company sends technicians such as Les out on jobs that range from pressure tests on gas lines to finding leaks near old barbecue pits. In one visit Les and a helper needed a part and left the customer to dig while they drove to the supply store. Another call led to a three hundred dollar charge just to look at a plumbing issue that later fixed itself with no return visit to complete anything. Reviews describe cases where a gas line got hit during the work and the crew wanted two thousand more on top of the original amount without finishing the original task. A receptionist once had no idea the outfit handled gas line plumbing when the first call came in.
Some customers mention professional and prompt service that has lasted for years with their family while others point to unfinished jobs and added charges that left them paying for work that never got done. The pattern shows repeated shortfalls in completing tasks and keeping costs in line with what was promised. Speed and quality draw the most consistent complaints across the feedback. DIRT Score 1.24 from 12 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Charged me $300 to diagnose a plumbing problem that fixed itself. He told me I don’t know the problem but it will cost normal rate an hour to find. He left charged me $300 for looking at it with the promise he would be back in the am to finish the job and charge me some more money but thank goodness Drains the went down on their own. I would use someone else.”
“Everyone complaining sounds like they aren’t the easiest people to deal with. My family has been utilizing Les’s services for years and years. I bought a new house & their services have been wonderful, & have not ever been short of professional & prompt.”
“Worst customer service ever. Les could not finish the job, hit a gas line and wanted to charge me 2k to fix it! Apart from the original issue! They did not finish the job had to get a more qualified plumber to get it done and they still expect me to pay 1600! For NOT finishing the job. This company (and les) is a JOKE! RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! Save yourself a headache as use someone else.”
“Called their office, receptionist had no idea that they could plumb gas lines. Once appointment set, Les and a helper showed up. Did a pressure test, found the leak at an old BBQ put. He didn’t have the part needed. While Les and helper went to supply store I dug up the BBQ put. Once the returned, capped line hauled off old BBQ put and notified city. City came and line still has a leak. So I’m back at where I started only $300 poorer.”
“After using several companies at my work this company is the only one able to get our job done. I notice a rude comment about les! I beg to differ from the bad review He’s nothing but respectful to me and my manager. Will always rely on les if he ever changes companies we will follow him”
