About
Rikman Services, Inc. operates as electricians based in Conroe, Texas. Their team covers electrical services throughout the Houston area, including Montgomery County, Harris County, and spots like Pasadena and Pearland. For over 35 years combined, they have handled thousands of jobs each year dealing with home backup generators and electrical needs for both homes and businesses. This gives local homeowners a steady option when dealing with power issues common in the region.
Rikman Services handles general electrical services for homes and businesses plus generator installs and charging stations. One job involved putting in a Generac generator where lines got mounted along the brick exterior for dozens of feet instead of going underground. On the plumbing side, they swap out water heaters fast, as seen when scheduler Kathy scheduled a replacement in a rental with young children and finished the work two days after the bid. These tasks keep power and water systems working through the demands of Texas weather and sudden outages that hit the area often.
Homeowners in the area give Rikman Services credit for quick turnaround on service calls, rating their response speed well above average. When a water heater quit in a rental unit, the team lined up everything fast enough to have it fixed within days rather than weeks. That kind of timing helps during tough spots with family needs on the line. The high marks on speed add up to their strong overall standing from plenty of jobs completed. What Customers Say
“Terrible pride and workmanship in their installation and servicing!! Beware. We had Rikman install a new Generac home generator. The installers told me they couldn’t bury the electric and natural gas lines so ran them along and they screwed them to the outside brick for a distance of 37’. When they drilled the 2” hole through the exterior brick wall to the inside service panel, they used a 1/4” masonry bit and drilled several holes in a circle then smashed it with a hammer, making an ugly and big hole in my outside brick. Terrible. Should have stopped them there. So I contracted an electrician to bury my electric and gas lines about a year after the install because it looked horrible. Must have nicked the control wire when pulling it into the conduit and had to call Rikman to come look to see how to get the generator fixed. Called Rikman and they said probably needed a new control wire. Np. Service Tech showed up with no control wire on his truck and said needed new wire and maybe a new SCRM. Service call charge and didn’t do a thing but look in the panel. Came to run wire but forgot fuses. Service call charged. Came to install fuses and said SCRM was bad. Should have confirmed that on initial service call. Said it Would take 2 weeks to get the part in because it is an expensive part and they don’t have them on their trucks. Part is $60.00 from Generac. I had someone else finish the job. I would NOT use Rikman for anything unless you want to get service charged to death. Stay way!!!”
“The water heater went out in our rental unit and they have small children so we really needed a quick response. Kathy, our scheduler, was able to miraculously get us a bid and on the schedule within 24 hours and the new unit was installed two days later. They did an excellent job. We are very happy with the price and quality of the service. The replacement unit was the same one that Lowes uses.”
“Bought 2 water heaters from Lowe's in January 2018. They used Rikman as their installer. I never go in my attic. 2 weeks ago I was up there and find what you see pictured below. The installers just flat out didn't hook up the water heater exhaust (poisonous gasses) to the roof jacks that were there. Being completely SHOCKED that they put my family in danger like this, I called Lowe's. They referred me to Rikman. I did get a call from a nice lady that explained that their plumbers do not go on the roof, etc, and it should have been communicated to me that I needed to get the exhaust hooked up. They never told me that. She then went on to say that she would have someone call me the next day. I thanked her and said I'd send pictures to the guy calling so we could figure out who to call (roofer, plumber?) to get it hooked up right. Well, no call. I spent $150 for a plumber to come and hook up my water heaters correctly. It took him 30mins and $50 in vent elbows to simply hook them up, which Rikman failed to do. AVOID!”
“I would never, under any circumstances, do business with Rikman Services for Professional Services. After providing adequate installation of a Generac Generator, the owner convinced me to take his special financing deal which he said was interest free. It turns out Rikman is selling a scam package along with Generac and Synchrony Bank where they do this bait and switch. They do tricks with payment timings (so you never see a true balance before it is time to make the next payment,) and fine print, and instead of providing interest free payments, they flip a switch. We found out today Rikman together with Generac and Synchrony Bank have collectively charged us more than twice the installation cost, even though we actually had the cash to pay for it in full at the time. The owner pushed us in this direction. They are all nothing short of con men and scam artists. Happy to show you my bills and the initial purchase.”
“After waiting forever for the delivery of my new Washer and Dryer, Rikman Service's technician made short efficient work of installing my new Gas Dryer. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had about the dryer before leaving.”
