About

Ramos Refrigeration-A/C & Electrical works as an electrician and HVAC outfit based in Kingsville, Texas. They have handled electrical and refrigeration jobs across Kleberg and Jim Hogg County since 1942, keeping crews current on the latest methods for heating, cooling, and power systems. Homeowners in the area call them for straightforward fixes on units that break down in the heat or during cold snaps, with the shop located right on East King Avenue and a direct line for quick responses. The crew sticks to practical repairs rather than overcomplicating things.

They install and service all types of air conditioning and heating equipment, including water heaters, heat pumps, and boilers, while handling the electrical side that runs those systems. Technicians like Joe, Albert, Isaac, and Phillip under Rudy have rolled out to jobs such as replacing a bad capacitor on a compressor that quit in the middle of summer, recharging Freon lines, or running full diagnostic checks before the cold season hits. Customers have seen them arrive fast for a capacitor swap that got the unit running again within minutes, though some jobs dragged on with scheduling slips or mismatched parts on bigger installs.

Folks keep coming back when the work hits on speed and solid fixes like the capacitor repair that left everything checked out and running, or the crew that showed up prepared on commercial sites. Price gripes and missed appointments pull the average down though, leaving a record that mixes fast turnarounds with frustration over delays and costs. DIRT Score 3.2 from 21 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

My compressor quit working, called Ramos and within 10 minutes diagnostic found the problem, a bad capacitor. Put the new one in and checked it out. All good. Great guys and fabulous service always with Ramos air conditioning.

0/5 Stars — WARNING: Avoid Ramos AC at all costs Nearly 2 months without proper AC in 100°+ Texas heat thanks to Ramos AC’s incompetence. They’ve no-showed multiple appointments, ignored messages, and showed zero urgency. When they finally did work, they installed the wrong size unit, skipped the permit, botched the install with clogged hoses, backwards drain pipes, holes in ductwork, and sloppy wiring. We’ve spent extra money on another company just to fix their mistakes, and the system STILL doesn’t cool like before. If you value your time, money, comfort, and sanity do not let Ramos AC near your home.

Nothing but highway robbery. It’s sad to say that this place was recommended by a good friend of mine. This company charged me upwards in the hundreds to put 2psi of Freon and to spray a water hose at frozen lines. Freon is not expensive, and anyone can spray a hose at frozen lines. As a matter of fact, they overcharged my outdoor unit with Freon. I would never use this company again and never refer anyone to this company. *Also this company makes threats on people. I used another company to properly fix and identify the issue with my A/C unit and they did exactly what they said they would do and did it for the exact price I was quoted. $300 for repairs probably caused by this company, they also properly charged my outdoor unit and reinstalled piping and they even insulated their work, and performed a deep clean of the system. I’m thankful to airserve to come and fix the mistake that this company made. Airserve even came back out and fixed a leak for free for me. A normal service call to airserve is $70, a call to this company is over $100 just to do what, stare at it and leave?

WOW, totally exceptional. The crew Joe, Albert, and Isaac and the crew master Phillip are the best I have ever worked with. Having operated in commercial construction as a GC I have never experienced better. Thank you so very much Rudy!!!

My aunt and cousin spent $3,000 on an ac unit from them. They "take" the unit with them to work on it multiple times. Nothing was fixed. Called and told them it wasn't working. They ignored it through the summer, winter came and the heat wouldn't work. Pretended to add freon to help cooling. My cousin got fed up and called another ac repair man. New ac guy said there was no where to add freon. He was trying to take advantage of my cousin and aunt because they are women.
