“We had our power pulled out by a poke going down in winter as the temptress have been going down. Despite this aep has been dragging their feet. They received both expedited orders and the inspection on 13/3/25 at approximately 2:30pm and have said it could taje as long as 2 days to get a crew here. This is despite it dropping into the 40s. The cables are fixed, the inspections done but up to three days to connect.”

“Ive lived in ingleaide for 3 months. For 3 months I (and the whole town of Ingleside and Aransas) have experienced nothing but electricity outages, power flipping on and off all day long. Get your head in the game AEP. You suck”

“We are building a new house. It took weeks to get AEP to install our electrical box. We had a large piece of plywood with the address posted clearly but because we had no physical address on the house they canceled our appointment. So then we reschedule. Almost 2 weeks later, the installer shows up and tells us he doesn't have the right materials and says he will be back. He never came back and customer support can't even tell us what went wrong. This is how it works with a monopoly. They can treat however they want. I would say not recommended but none of us have any choice.”

“These people DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING! We built a new construction home. Every new construction home uses a temporary power pole while building the home. By the time the buyers close on the house, the temporary power pole is supposed to be removed. We moved in and closed on our home 2 months ago and it is still in our yard. The builder said they were taking care of it. Well 2 months going by doesn't sound like they did jack squat so I reached out to AEP myself. I asked them to remove the temporary power pole. A man came out 3 days later and removed ONLY the meter. The ugly wooden pole is still in a yard. Mind you, we are the ONLY house on our street that still has that. Well suddenly we get notice from our electricity company that AEP closed our account, forcing our electricity company to close our account and our power was to be shut off in a few days. WHAT!??!?! So we have been on the phone back and forth between Ambit Energy and AEP for the past two hours. So turns out when we closed on our house, because they kept the temporary power pole, nobody ever activated our actual meter that is on the side of our house. Seriously. This is unacceptable. Who trained y'all??? I feel like I am doing these people's job for them.”

“They’ve cut down trees in our back yard and are leaving them there for us to dispose of!! Bulky trash doesn’t pick up for 3 more months. It’ll be $82 for a special pick up and I’ll have to hire people to get it to the curb. These people are worse than Oncor.”
