“I used Denton Electric twice since moving to Denton. The first time they installed a plug for my wife's EV. Did great work and came in under the quote. The 2 time I had them install a 50amp plug for my RV. They, again did great work and at a reasonable price. In addition, I had a light fixture that was acting strange. They found a wire in the main panel that was not secured properly. Fixed the issue. The only issue I have with them is they do not have a way to pay online! Highly recommend.”
“HVAC disconnect fried. It was very hot without AC. They came out same day and fixed it. 5-stars”
“UPDATE- Regarding the response to the 4% credit/debit card fee. **See photo.** No, the invoice I received at the time of service (which is the one I brought into the office the next morning and is the only invoice I had been given) did not say anything about a fee anywhere on it. No information is given up front about payment options or all of the fees. In addition, the drive was not 21 miles from the business- it is less than 10 so it sounds like you are inflating numbers. If you are charging each customer mileage based on the distance from the customer appointment previous, then that would appear to be unethical. I stand by my review even more now. -------------------------------- Although everyone I spoke with was polite, this was a very disappointing experience. First, I scheduled my appointment a week out because this was not urgent. I was given an appointment date and was told the technician would call me sometime in the afternoon to let me know when he was on his way over. I was not given a time or even a time frame so I had to make sure I was available the entire afternoon. The technician arrived around 4:20 pm and after starting the work informed me that he wouldn't charge me after hours rates even though it was after hours. That made no sense since I scheduled this the week prior and did not request an after hours visit. They close at 4:00 pm their apparently so they should probably work on their scheduling. Second, I received a written invoice and was told I could pay by check or cash but not card since it was after hours. I asked about just going down to the office and paying the next day and was told that would be fine. When I arrived the next day my invoice was not in the system yet so luckily I had taken my copy. I was going to pay with my debit card and was told they charge a 4% fee if a card is used. This was not listed on the invoice nor did the technician say anything about that. I was told I could pay by check, but seriously most people don't carry checks around anymore. So it was a waste of time and gas to even bother driving down there to pay. They do not offer electronic invoicing or payments which would be way better than the process they have now. Finally, the invoice for replacing a GFCI outlet totaled almost $185. When I called to schedule I was not informed that there was a trip fee added to the charges which was $75 which is a bit high. Then the minimum half hour labor fee was $75 (the labor cost is higher than some I have spoken to and time spent on repair was 22 minutes) and the material was $32. So all of this and obviously I still can't say if the problem with remedied since it has only been a day, but if not then I will definitely go with a different company next time. There is a lack of transparency when it comes to fees with this company and if they're not going to have it written on invoices or give you the information verbally, it might be best for them to post pricing and policies on their website so that people can decide up front on whether or not they want to go elsewhere. Despite many of the positive reviews I have read, which really surprised me after my experience, I would definitely not recommend.”
“I called this company and ask for an estimate on repair for a house I had under contract. I made it very clear that I was under contract and in my option period and that I do not own the property. They scheduled a time to come out to the property and it was poorly communicated. No email, no appointment, they just called the day of and said we’re headed out. I told them I would not be able to make it out that day but they could bid the work and send me an estimated cost of repairs. Several hours later I had a friend of mine drive by the property to give me an estimate on landscaping and he informed me “hey there are people working here”. This was 5 hours after the scheduled appointment. I had to call and tell them and tell them I didn’t want any work done I just wanted an estimate. They continued to tell me that I wanted the work done and if I’m not paying they will take me to court. This seemed intentionally fraudulent and I’m sure this company had a history of this. I hung up the phone and had to have the cops called to make sure they had left the property. I would avoid this company at all costs. This is not at all a professional company. You have been warned.”
“I would like to give Denton Electric an excellent review! Their friendly customer service was great! Rhonda Mallory did an excellent job working my request into their busy schedule, I needed an electric wire move from my house to my storage building after the straight line windstorm blew a large branch across it. Ty Bates remove the wire and did an excellent job. I give Rhonda and Ty Five star review for their great service Denton electric is the best warm regards, Rosalita Pennington.”
