“I’ll be very specific in case someone else has the same issue, which stumped several plumbing and electrical contractors. I had a couple stainless steel braided hoses (washer, ice maker) that kept getting holes and leaking. I'd replace, but the leaking would start again a couple weeks later. I assumed the issue was too much pressure in the water line, so I called a plumber, who spent three hours troubleshooting (and on Facetime with several of his coworkers) and finally noticed the stainless steel lines looked burned around the small holes. He suggested I call an electrician. I called a couple companies to explain the issue and some didn’t call back after getting my detailed message. Another I spoke with actually said it didn’t make sense that the issue was electrical, and another came out and said I likely needed a ground rod replaced. He quoted for that, then opened my panel and said my 30-year panel should be replaced, which pushed my work estimate from $600 to $4500, with no guarantee the replacement would fix the issue. Some of the reasons he said the panel needed to be replaced sounded suspect and I told him I don’t spend money like that unless I hear the same thing from a c”
