About
S&K Brown Service Company Llc works as electricians out of Richland Hills, Texas, and has handled local electrical needs since 1952. The crew stays busy with homes across Tarrant County where summer heat and storms put constant strain on wiring and fixtures. They focus on practical fixes that keep power running steady without extra costs or delays. Homeowners call them for straightforward electrical work that matches the demands of older houses and newer builds alike in the area.
Their electricians handle jobs like installing ceiling fans and chandeliers, as David did on one call where he showed up on time and finished the work cleanly. They also respond to storm damage such as lightning strikes that knock out plugs and control boards in HVAC units, diagnosing the exact problems and getting systems back online fast. Another time they arrived within ninety minutes on a Friday afternoon when an air conditioning unit failed in hundred degree weather, and crews have added insulation in attics during full system upgrades. The team stocks common parts like filters on site so small repairs do not turn into long waits.
Customers keep coming back because the crew shows up quick and gets the job done right the first time, with strong marks on speed and clear updates from the first phone call through completion. Reviews mention reliable service on electrical installs and repairs without pushy upsells or unfinished work. That steady performance across hundreds of jobs adds up to the high marks they hold. What Customers Say
“Our a/c went out on a Friday at 3pm. Brown Service got a repair person to our home by 4:30 pm!! We were so grateful because the temperature outside was 100 degrees. They are the best!”
“A big thanks to Brown Service Company for our new HVAC system installation. We also had them blow new insulation in the attic. Professional service and work all the way around.”
“I’ve used Brown for many years for parts, April Air filters and advice. In late July, we had a lightning strike that took out several plugs and such. Also took out the HVAC main board in the inside unit. Called Brown to come out and look at our unit and diagnose the situation. The main board was done for and had to order a new one. After short wait, they came out with the new board and got the AC running. Of course, being summertime there was no need to check the heat. With that cool spell that came through a few weeks back, I checked the unit on the heating and it wouldn’t activate. One quick call and they came out and checked the unit out and after a bit, determined that a wire wasn’t connected and got it up and running. No charge since it was part of the earlier situation. Thanks to Jimmy and others involved, all good to go. The HVAC seems to run much better than it had before. I would recommend. The main board replacement was priced at $900. The Lennox unit I have is rather sophisticated. That was the majority of the cost.”
“David arrived and installed two new ceiling fans and a new chandelier. He was timely, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Communication with Brown Service Company from my first call until David arrived was excellent. Due to this experience, all my future electrical work will be scheduled with this company and i want David to be the electrician who comes to my home. I will highly consider Brown again for other types of work i may need. Donald R North Fort Worth”
“Andy did a great job replacing the blower motor. I had determined prior to his arrival that the motor was kaputt. Andy replaced the motor in no time and he also corrected a 2 stage wiring problem we had since day one. However, the cost to replace the motor was over $1800 and on top of that they charged me $99 to tell me the motor was bad (something that I had already determined). I checked the retail cost for a generic motor and it was around $700. I’m sure that they were able to get the motor much cheaper than what a retail customers has to pay. We do get a 1 year warranty. FWIW - my last motor lasted 16 years. I gave 3 stars because Andy deserves 5 but their pricing is a little steep so they only get 3 stars. BTW - they did tell me how much it would cost prior to replacing the motor unfortunately at the time I didn’t know how much the motors actually cost or I would have replaced it on my own. If you’re handy do your homework before hand - you may save yourself a considerable amount of money. UPDATE: Based on my google review Brown Service Company replied and stated that I should call so they could make it right. Well I called and that was 15 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back. I requested and received a detailed invoice but it did not breakdown the material and labor costs. I also learned that they installed a 1/2 hp motor and the original was 3/4 hp. Further research revealed that the generic 1/2 hp motor goes for around $400 (retail). So I suspect that this company made around $1400 for less than 2 hours worth of work. Based on this I lowered their rating to 2 stars because they are way overpriced and they did nothing to make it right. Beware of Brown Service Company.”
