About

Georgetown Electric Company works as electricians based in Georgetown, TX. They focus on utility connections for new home builds along with ongoing electric service management for residents. The outfit handles deposits, account setups, and power restoration when issues arise during construction or after cutoffs. Local homeowners often deal with them for starting service or addressing billing around weather-related demands like summer heat loads. The company operates within the city framework where electric work ties directly into permits and inspections for residential projects.

Electricians from the company manage tasks such as reinstating power after mistaken shutoffs and processing connection fees for builders. Reviews mention repeated trips to resolve invoice mix-ups sent to the wrong parties along with handling extra charges during short periods of high usage like five days of heat. Crews respond to calls about account openings that require multiple submissions when emails go unanswered. They also coordinate with water and garbage services but run into problems when deposits do not transfer properly between accounts for the same property.

Customers consistently flag slow responses on support calls, inaccurate billing that doubles normal rates, and poor follow-through on builder invoices that require five or more visits to fix. Communication gaps show up when staff cannot adjust fees or explain charges clearly, while quality of service draws complaints about rigid processes that ignore construction timelines. These patterns across dozens of accounts explain the low overall rating. DIRT Score 2.29 from 76 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Georgetown water, pay deposits and connection fees during construction of home. Then you have to open a ANOTHER account and pay again (not get refunded deposits). Can’t reply to customer support emails, make you resubmit every time, can’t get anyone on the phone when you call them. They’ll tell you one thing, do that, then oh sorry we can’t do that… Just sell the water rights already and hopefully a company that’s competent takes over.

If I could give them zero stars I would. From falsely promising they would not charge me for re-instating my electricity they had mistakenly cut off to charging me more than DOUBLE my usual fee for having the heat on for 5 days this entire company is a large scale scam. They will use every opportunity to overcharge and hope you don't notice. It's not even worth living in their jurisdiction of you can help it. Truly awful people

Awful service. If a business were ran consistently this poorly, the doors would be shut in two weeks. From other Builders receiving your invoices, 5 trips to get unresolved to their general “oh well” attitude. Keep up the bad job.

Georgetown utilities is awful. They have no customer service skills and will not work with you on anything. Miserable people working there and running the place.

This water company is incompetent and dishonest. They claim our water meter in a newly built home has malfunctioned for a period of about 3 years since it was built. This is something they should have caught way sooner since we've had stage 2-3 water restrictions since then. We've paid roughly close to $119 per month for a household of 2. In our previous home in Cedar Park at most paid $90. Seemed pretty reasonable since the home is slightly larger. Apparently not and we're being back billed $699 of what they claim we owed additionally for the last 12 months. They claim we've been undercharged. With that math we would have essentially been spending $177 per month which feels inaccurate for a 2 person home that waters once a week during watering season (when not under severe water restrictions of course). Essentially this place is an unregulated monopoly in our area. I hope they face consequences one day for all the home owners they've screwed over. The "supervisor" was not helpful. We had 3 associates try to convince us to do a payment plan vs speaking to the supervisor. The supervisor still couldn't be bothered to give us the courtesy of responding back via phone call and only sent an email back 9 days later in response to disputing the bill. They claimed they already discounted what we owed what a joke.
