Aqua Group Inc
Electrician · Grapevine, TX
About
Aqua Group Inc handles electrical work for homeowners around South Lake, TX. They step in on projects where previous contractors have left gaps, taking on bids for full electrical runs along with related plumbing and pool plumbing tasks. One review mentions a builder who brought them in after getting burned by a turnkey outfit that took the money and walked off the job. Their crew, including tech Rick Whittington, shows up to sort out the wiring and equipment needs on residential builds that include pools and spas. The company also supplies some of the gear directly when customers decide to buy through them instead of separate vendors.
Electricians from Aqua Group Inc handle service calls that range from new construction wiring to fixing existing problems like GFCI trips on spa lights. In one case a technician traced a light issue back to a leaking and corroded junction box that required rewiring before the light itself could be swapped out. They bid competitively on electrical packages that tie into pool plumbing and equipment installs, and customers have noted the same team managing multiple trades on the same property. Work often involves identifying hidden corrosion or wiring faults that only surface once power is tested, then completing the repair so the system stops tripping breakers or leaking at the box.
Reviews show uneven results that pull the score down, with praise for spotting and fixing a corroded junction box on a spa light but repeated complaints about company drivers behaving recklessly in traffic and even flipping off other motorists near intersections like Mid Cities and Rufe Snow. Homeowners value the electrical fixes that get lights and systems running again without further trips, yet the driving incidents create a pattern of unprofessional conduct that stands out across multiple accounts. DIRT Score 2.16 from 14 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“I'm a reluctant DIY builder that originally hired a turnkey contractor, who took my money and abandoned the job. I hired Rick Whittington after competitively bidding the electrical, plumbing and pool plumbing for all three. Later, I also decided to purchase the equipment through Aquagroup Inc after many positive interactions and understanding the value of their knowledge and experience. There is not a single employee in this company that I don't trust implicitly. Whether you're building a new pool, completing an abandoned job, or fixing an existing pool, I couldn't possibly recommend them enough!”
“No surprise that I came here to write a negative review about one of the drivers flipping off in the traffic, just to find other reviews about their reckless driving! So unprofessional and embarrassing for this company. Do better.”
“My spa light had been working fine for years but suddenly started tripping the GFCI when the light was turned on. I scheduled service to replace the light but the technician found a leaking and corroded junction box he said had to be replaced/rewired before he could replace the light. I sent a text to Lee Draper, GM of Aqua Group. He responded by phone immediately. I described the problem and he asked me to document the issue in an email, with photos, and they would get right back with me to schedule the service. I did as he asked. After waiting three weeks for them to respond, I contacted Lee again. He apologized, told me they had been crazy busy, said they hadn’t forgotten about me, and promised again they would get back to me. After waiting another four weeks, I gave up on them and fixed it myself. It has been three months now, and I still haven’t heard from them. I don’t know what the problem was. I suppose it could have been incompetence, but I was left with the impression that my job was too small for them to bother with. However, rather than just telling me that, which would have been the honorable thing to do, it appears that they preferred to string me along just in case they had a lull and needed the work. Poor business practice at best. I will not attempt to do business with them again.”
“Company driver was recklessly driving on Mid Cities and Rufe Snow intersection. He almost caused several collisions with different vehicles. License plate and TECL number recorded if needed. This is very irresponsible.”
“Great customer service! Crews are timely, fast and efficient. Satisfied customers every time!”
