About

House of Power Electric Lc works as an electrician out of Houston, Texas. They handle residential electrical jobs for both new construction and existing homes in the area. The company has taken on wiring projects for home builders such as Meritage and responds to service calls where homeowners need fixes on switches, plugs, and lighting. Houston weather and typical house builds bring steady demand for these skills, from basic outlet installs to panel work on single family properties. They operate with crews that show up for scheduled appointments across the city.

They run full electrical wiring during new home builds, swap out 50 foot high soffit lights when matching fixtures prove hard to find locally, replace defective light switches that fail after a couple years, ground main house boxes, and hook up loose plugs. Service visits often involve troubleshooting problems left from earlier work like cracks around switch plates from forced installs or bad positioning of switches on walls. Homeowners have rescheduled for specialty bulbs ordered online and dealt with fees that appear on the day of the job without prior notice. These tasks cover common needs in Houston where builders subcontract electrical and owners later call for corrections on outlets and fixtures.

Reviews highlight repeated shortfalls in quality from loose plates and ungrounded panels to poor switch placement, plus communication gaps when fees hit without warning and speed issues on follow up fixes. Price concerns surface when charges feel unexpected and overall workmanship leaves walls damaged or switches unreliable after the initial install. These patterns across multiple jobs add up to the mixed results that produced their score. DIRT Score 3.36 from 26 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Meritage home builders contracted this company for electrical with my house. Wiring and plugs have worked well. My light switches have not. I have replaced about 15 light switches in my house to date. They are defective. My home warranty covered electric for 2 years. I replaced about 3 by the two year mark. After replacing approx 5, I realized this was more than a coincidence. I asked House of Power to furnish new switches and I would replace them myself. Their representative was rude and replied that it was not their problem. I offered to give supply the broken switches and that it was abnormal that switches that new were problematic. This company uses defective equipment. They are not customer service centered. They lack business integrity, being that they do not support their craftsmanship or product. A terrible experience overall. I am worried about the quality of the electrical system in my home and hope that I will have no further problems, other than possible having to replace the other 70 switches in my home over time. Each plug costs roughly $10. Right now I have spent about $150. Additionally I have spent about 20 minutes to replace each switch, approx 3 hours I will not get back. I hope that this review helps you to avoid using a company of such poor standards in both product quality and customer service.

Made an appt for 50ft high soffit lights exchange. I could not find exact matching replacement lights in loews or Home Depot before the anppoint and I had to order from Amazone. I rescheduled, and was charged 95 dollars for first visit. First, I was not notified of the fee until the day of the job. That is excessive and not good customer service.

This place is trash, probably rented somebody journeyman license off ebay and whoever could sray in the lines of a coloring book was hired. Didn't even ground the main house box, didn't hook up a plug, trash trash trash.

We built a new home and the builder used them for the electrical work. They did not do a good job. Really bad positioning of light switches, switch plates are loose, walls have been pushed in by forcing switch plates on the wall, cracks by switch due to these forced switch plates. The only way I could get them to come take a look after we moved in was to hold their money. They still didnt fix my walls and said they dont do sheet rock work. Which means they break it but dont fix it. Not to mention 2 of the breakers (washer/dryer and kitchen wall plug breaker) keep tripping. It's been a year but I am still finding these details as far as the switch plates and not happy.

Had some issues with lighting in my home. These guys took the time to not only fix the issue but showed me how to fix future issues. Very helpful. Awesome service
