J T Lanehart Electric
Electrician · Houston, TX
About
J T Lanehart Electric works as electricians out of Houston, Texas with roots going back over sixty years in the trade. They started in Houston and have since expanded to handle jobs across more than a dozen markets. The company focuses on residential electrical systems including single family wiring projects plus add-ons such as whole house automation setups, security monitoring, LED lighting changes, and energy upgrades. Homeowners in the area often deal with new builds and the need for reliable power in hot and humid conditions that put extra strain on circuits and outlets.
They handle installations for new construction along with some repair calls like running a fresh 220 line for shop equipment or addressing breakers and outlets that fail in homes only a few years old. Technicians also get requests to check smoke detectors and other safety items after initial wiring work. The outfit claims to use licensed crews for these tasks and stresses timely quotes on both residential and commercial sites, though several calls for service on recent installs have run into limits on what gets scheduled.
Customers have reported repeated problems reaching anyone for fixes on electrical issues in newer homes, with receptionists showing little interest and sometimes yawning through calls or giving conflicting answers about repair work versus new builds. Inquiries about breakers, outlets, and detectors installed by the company have gone unanswered for weeks in multiple cases, leaving owners frustrated with the lack of follow through on quality and communication. What Customers Say
“Receptionist was rude... very uncaring. Our house was built 4 years ago. We have been having issues with our electrical for some time now and recently found out it was them who worked on our home. Very Poor quality work. She explained to me that they don't do repairs, only new construction. They should rectify the crappy job they did if they stood by their company and believed that they produce quality work.”
“Called to Schedule and Onsite visit quote or a New 220 For a piece of equipment in the shop. Got nothing but bad attitude from the receptionist, first it was I'm sorry we only do new construction or repair, Okay did you listen to what I just said, new construction please. residential or commercial, commercial Please, oh I'm sorry we don't do commercial, Don't lie to me, that's your bread and butter.”
“After 3 attempts to make an inquiry for service/repair on electric installed by Lanehart, there has been zero response. I have waited a month now, sent multiple messages via email, contact us form, and called with no answer. My home is 2.5 years old, and having issues with breakers/outlets installed by Lanehart. Outside of builder warranty but obviously Lanehart does not stand behind their work enough to respond this type of customer inquiry.”
“Bad customer service, the receptionist was yawning on the phone. As I was explaining my concern with the smoke detectors. I wish I could rate "0" stars because one start is way to generous for this company.”
“It is one of the best residential electrician companies in Houston, TX.”
