Joe Swartz Electric Co., Ltd
Electrician · Houston, TX
About
Joe Swartz Electric Co., Ltd handles electrical work across Houston, TX, where the heat and frequent storms put real strain on home systems. Homeowners here deal with everything from overloaded circuits in older houses to new construction wiring that needs sorting out right away. The company takes calls for both routine fixes and bigger jobs that pop up in the local climate, focusing on getting power running steady without dragging things out. Their crew shows up for whatever comes through the door, whether it's a quick check on a breaker panel or sorting through tangled lines in a fresh build.
They tackle jobs like restoring lights in new homes where fixtures stay dark or dim then surge without warning, plus sorting AC units that quit during peak summer months. Techs respond to emergency lines even after hours, though some calls get pushed to the next day, and they hunt down hidden faults in condo units that trip breakers at odd times. Work includes installing outlets, troubleshooting surges, and repairing panels so everything holds up, with crews aiming to stay on schedule even when plans shift mid-job. In Houston builds, they run into issues like garage lights staying hot or switch boxes installed crooked, and they come back to straighten those out when pointed out by the owner.
Customers note solid results on quality when the job gets done right the first time, along with fair pricing that fits the scope without surprises and clear talk about what needs fixing. Speed comes through on planned repairs but varies on urgent requests, and communication holds up best when the team explains options upfront. Mixed feedback on new construction details like switch verification shows where follow-through matters most in this trade. DIRT Score 3.45 from 46 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“I have little to no lights working in my new home, A/c not working, and lights are dimming then surging. I called the 24hr emergency line to get assistance and the on call tech refused to help us and said he would send someone tomorrow. Our warranty is with this joke of a company as well. We have had them out 2 times already to replace some of the low quality switches etc they use as well. They do poor work and poor customer service.. Our home is literally 5 months old and only 2 people live here. This shouldn't be happening but here we are and can't get help from this sorry company like they supposedly offer... I will also be pushing this through the builder and whoever else I can find to cause them a fraction of the grief we have gotten thanks to them..”
“Best electricians we have found since relocating to the Houston area. These professionals really know electrical work and are able to install, troubleshoot, and repair whatever needs to be done, on time and on budget — even when things don’t go as planned. We will definitely call on them for all of our electrical needs. Would give them 10 stars!”
“This Electric Company did a great job to find electrical issue in my unit. Highly recommend using these guy if you need any electrical work. Thank you for doing great job.”
“Do not use them if you have a choice. I didnt because the home builder sub-contracted these guys. No QC at all. Garage light was hot at all times. They didn't even flip the switch to verify their work! How lazy. Crooked single-gang boxes all thru-out the home. There is a 4-gang switch box next to the front door and it was not level. It was off by 10 degrees. That is a quite a bit considering its nearly 9 inches wide. How anyone didnt catch that is beyond me. Even my 8 year old asked why it looks so weird. They sent out a tech and his 'fix' was to place a large flat blade screwdriver on top of the trim plate and giving it a few good whacks with his palm. That is not even close to how you fix that, especially since its encased in drywall. He left the trim plate gouged and a hole in the drywall. He thought this was acceptable. If you expected that box to move with that impact ,that means its not secured properly anyway. Total incompetence on all levels. When they figured out to trim drywall they made it better but not level. They left all the drywall dust on my wood floor. Its very difficult to get that out of wood seams. The very worst part is my son plugged into a receptacle in his room and said it was making noise. I came in and smelled smoke. The wires were not stripped to the proper length, the eyelet formed for the screw was misshapen, too short, and wound up backwards. The screw is supposed to tighten up the eyelet and close the gap. This was not. It was loose and overheating and sparking. I went thru and found multiple receptacles had loose wiring. Very dangerous and unprofessional. These guys need to be fined or jailed. They should not be in business. Choose someone else ,or better yet do it all yourself, you can youtube electrical work and do better than these guys.”
“This is not the company to put breaker box in your home. I spoke with Naurucio about what was going on. We was talking back and forth after asking his name and spelling he hung up in my face. I still have a problem. Any one who needs them pass them up. Find another company that's not the one for you.”
