Kenmor Electric Company, L P
Electrician · Houston, TX
About
Kenmor Electric Company works as electricians out of Houston, Texas, focusing on commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. They have handled electrical construction and maintenance for 50 years, serving properties, government agencies, and similar sites that need reliable power systems. As the only TEGG-authorized contractor in the city, they team up with facility managers and maintenance crews to build programs that cut downtime and meet safety rules. Their approach covers ongoing checks and fixes that keep operations running without constant interruptions from power problems common in Houston's heat and storms.
They perform infrared thermography scans, de-energized testing, ultrasonic checks, power monitoring, and arc flash analysis on transformers and other equipment. Crews arrive for preventive maintenance at places like Moody Gardens, where they have acted as the steady go-to team for years by applying diagnostic tools and real fixes. In one case an electrician showed up after a delay without the promised call ahead, only to handle a basic reset that solved the issue on the spot. They track work through web-based reports and partner with staff on cost control, though some jobs involve coordination that varies with the foremen on site.
Customers give mixed marks on how the work gets scheduled and handled day to day. Positive notes highlight steady knowledge and support that keeps facilities compliant, while others point out late arrivals, missed calls, and foremen who create extra headaches even when the base pay rate holds up. Speed and communication draw the most comments, with quality holding in straightforward repairs but price and timing showing room for better consistency across the board. What Customers Say
“The receptionist was nice and the electrician was nice. However I was told they would call me 30 minutes before they got here and they didn't call me. They called the wrong person. They were also supposed to be here at 7 and didn't get here until 740. Then come to find out it was a simple push of a button to fix the outlet so they were in and out in less than 10 minutes. So they charged me $95 to push a button. I would have used them for other things but I feel charging $95 to push a button is a little much.”
