Electrician · Houston, TX
About
Smart Home Remodeling works out of Houston, Texas as electricians who handle electrical upgrades tied into remodeling and renovation jobs. The crew takes on projects in homes throughout the area, where older wiring and storm-related issues often call for updates to breaker boxes and circuits. They combine electrical know-how with full renovation work to keep things moving on site without extra delays from separate crews. Houston weather and frequent power outages mean many homeowners need reliable generator hookups and solid electrical fixes during bigger remodels, and this team steps in for those exact needs.
They modify breaker boxes to run portable generators across an entire house and walk customers through the setup step by step, as seen when one slab project included full-home power changes. Kitchen jobs cover full demolition and rebuilds finished in under three months, with new wiring and outlets added during the process. Floor transitions from carpet to hardwood cover stairs, upstairs areas, and media rooms while addressing any electrical outlets or lighting along the way. Some reports mention workers drinking on the job and missed timelines, yet the electrical and renovation details get handled with direct attention to what each house requires.
Homeowners keep coming back because the finished electrical work holds up and looks clean, with strong marks on overall quality that land at 8 out of 10. Quick kitchen turnarounds and clear explanations on generator changes show solid speed and communication on most jobs, even when Houston conditions throw curveballs. The crew earns its marks by focusing on practical fixes that last rather than shortcuts. DIRT Score 5.0 from 355 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Got a concrete slab put in my backyard it is huge and my daughter loves it. It’s smother than my driveway making it easier to draw on and not so rough on bare feet. They also modified my breaker box so that my portable generator can power the entire house. He even showed me how it was done and let me video record him explaining how it works.”

“Okay I'm going negative stars, recent update is people drinking on the job! Found an empty beer can I'm my cabinets! And that's just the one I found! Wonder how many more I didn't find?!? Nightmare scenario with little ownership. And time lines that are worthless. Learn from my mistakes. DO NOT USE THEM Well it's still clown show here. We are on week 9 of the 2.5 week renovation. Andy lacked the ability to tell us any truths so we made over 30 phone calls and finally got a new project manager. It's gotten a little better but the mistakes and inability to keep timelines is still here. At this point it just feels like this is how they work. I had to ask them to fix the paper covering or stairs..... They didn't. I fell and landed on my hip. I didn't break anything but it hurt! Told them to fix it now! And they finally did. It's just been a nightmare Not having a good experience so far. 5 weeks into a 2.5 week renovation (with a new projection of 7-8 weeks). Can't keep a timeline, promised everything done by the 12th. Then it was probably the week of the 22nd Now the week of October 6th. Andy the salesman/ project manager started off as a good dude! I would have invited him over for dinner ..... If I had a kitchen..... (invite has been rescinded). Hired them on to do a kitchen reno and floor resurface and stain our floors. We added additional built in cabinets. Project was supposed to be 2 1/2 - 3 weeks long. Cool. They came in pretty quick and demo'd a wall then didn't come back for a couple days. Then demo'd the counters and then some time went by and they came and got the cabinets for painting. So far we're 32 days in and there has been 7 solid days of work. Workers show up at all times. And they are now working weekends to try and catch up. The one shining star so far was the flooring guy who did a really good job and communicated well. I feel like I'm in that nightmare scenario you hear about where nothing is happening but you're assed out about it. The only time we get outcomes is when we hound them for info. Even after talking to a "supervisor" there has been no change. Hopefully the end product will add some stars”
