About

Lanehart Electrical Contractors works as electricians out of Irving, Texas. These contractors have built up over 60 years in the trade, beginning in Houston and expanding operations across more than a dozen markets. They take on residential electrical systems with a focus on single family wiring and upgrades such as LED lighting or vehicle charging stations. The outfit maintains ties to major suppliers and handles both new construction and warranty calls on homes from builders like DR Horton. Homeowners in the area often deal with electrical needs tied to the local climate and growth, where reliable power setups matter for daily use.

They handle jobs like repairing a nonworking switch in a laundry room, installing three ceiling fans along with two Nest thermostats and two Nest CO2 detectors, or sorting out a doorbell problem in a new house. Crews get sent for third party inspections that turn up multiple items needing attention, and they respond to calls about whole house setups or basic fixes. In practice this means scheduling appointments for warranty work, sending supervisors to confirm details, and attempting quick resolutions on items flagged during home checks. Technicians show up to address these residential issues directly, though the process involves coordination with the builder and follow up on listed problems.

Customers have raised repeated concerns over quality and communication that explain the low rating. Some report getting incorrect advice such as changing a bulb on one piece LED fixtures that do not allow it, or waiting hours past set times for a supervisor to call back on a doorbell and fan install. Issues with specific staff like Sarah and overall workmanship on inspection fixes add to the headaches noted across reviews. Speed and price come up in complaints about delays and added stress on DR Horton warranty jobs. DIRT Score 2.91 from 26 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Never trust lanehart. May get one half decent employee but the majority is not worth the stress or headache. Seen the work and how they work and I would rather lick the lugs in a panel before I trust these guys.

Hey Lanehart. Just FYI, Sarah sucks! I had a 3rd party inspection on my home and sent a list with numerous issues to DR Horton. DR Horton sent back information of 5 different companies that would be coming to work on the numerous items. First off, DR Horton sent you guys the request mid July and it took you until now to call and schedule. When I spoke to Sarah to schedule, she asked what you guys were coming for. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my detailed report at hand, and as previously mentioned, there were numerous issues and I couldn’t remember what the electrical portion was off the top of my head so I proceeded to tell her that I was unsure exactly, and her response was, "I find it very unusual that a homeowner doesn't know what electrical items need to be fixed." I was a little taken aback by her opinonated response, which she should have kept to herself honestly, but nonetheless, I explained why I was unsure, and again, rather than just say ok, no worries, just look up my order, and schedule me accordingly, she made the same comment again! It made me extremely uncomfortable and I don’t appreciate that. I will be asking DR Horton to re-route to another provider.

Called on new DR Horton warranty issue, switch in laundry room stopped working, I was told by the lady that answered the phone to just change the bulb out. We don't have lights with changeable bulbs, the BUILDER has one piece LED lights installed. If I didn't have to use this company because of the builders warranty I would not. This is the 2nd issue in less than a month, first was a wall plug that wasn't wired right and plugging anything in turned off the overhead light. Right now I am concerned about the lack of workmanship on the electrical in the home and possible fire hazards from uncapped, unconnected wires. And a week or so before they can come out when they have trucks all over the neighborhood all day. Bad customer service overall.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME I called originally because I have an issue with my doorbell in my new home and I needed a few things installed (3 ceiling fans, 2 Nest thermostats, 2 Nest CO2 detectors). The supervisor called me back and set an appointment. After waiting for 2 hours after the appointment time, I called them back. Turns out, they had tried ringing my doorbell - the same thing I was having the issue with not working - and they left. After I called the main office, the supervisor (Gerardo) called me back. He tried to reschedule me for a week later! After some dialogue he agreed to come back later that day. When I reminded him of everything that else we had talked about that needed to be installed, he told me that they didn't do Nest thermostats. Why didn't he tell me that in the first place?!? I never would have made the original appointment had I known that. Just an awful, awful experience.

My husband called the company and informed the issues of our new home master bedroom switch that tripped the main electrical box. They came within few days and was able to fixed the problem. Technician were knowledgeable and very kind & professional.
