About

Solar Centex Llc works as electricians out of Harker Heights, Texas, with a focus on solar power setups for local homes. They handle the electrical side of panel installations, removals for roof work, and fixes that keep systems producing power day after day. In central Texas heat and occasional storms, these crews know the common problems that come up with wiring, inverters, and connections that go offline without warning. Homeowners call them when panels need to come down and go back up cleanly or when equipment stops talking to the monitoring apps.

The crew takes on jobs like stripping solar panels off a roof so repairs can happen underneath, then reinstalling and testing everything to confirm full output. Trinidad often runs the team with Josh, Todd, and Michael handling the heavy lifting and final checks. They also track down offline gear that owners missed, fix it on the spot, and explain right away how weather and usage will affect daily results. Installations stay on time, sites stay clean, and small issues like inverter settings get sorted before the crew leaves. Customers get straight talk on expected savings and any delivery delays that might push the schedule.

Homeowners give strong marks for work that lasts without callbacks, crews that arrive ready to move, and clear updates throughout each job. Reviews note the quality of panel handling and system testing, the speed that stops small problems from growing, and communication that covers both limits and benefits without surprises. The electricians earn repeat calls because they finish what they start and leave systems running right. DIRT Score 4.93 from 118 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Centex Solar was prompt and prepared to remove and then reinstall my solar panels for the roofers to do repairs underneath. I was impressed by Trinidad (in charge of the group), Josh, Todd, and Michael as they worked as a team to get the job done. Afterward, they made sure my system was working properly and even helped me with the app. Thank you Centex Solar!

This review is long overdue… A huge thanks to Trinidad and Michael for A+ customer service, for going above and beyond, for your thoroughness, expertise and for saving me from a second service call down the road to address the offline equipment that I didn't know about! After finding and addressing the source of the odd noise in the panel, they asked if it was OK to do a system check since they were here. Turns out some of the solar panels were offline though the main panel display showed no issues. They fixed it quickly - and I saw a substantial reduction in my electric bill starting the next month. A big thank you to Chris in the office for getting a remote diagnosis to reassure me that the issue, which sounded like it was electrical, wasn’t critical from a safety or performance perspective — and for scheduling the service call so quickly. And hats off to Scot for putting together a stellar team that really knows how to care for customers, even for the littlest issues. It’s truly a pleasure doing business with everyone at Solar Centex!

What stood out to me was how clearly they explained the limitations as well as the benefits. They were honest that performance depends on weather and usage patterns. The installation team was punctual and completed the work without any mess. There was a minor issue with the inverter configuration initially, but it was fixed quickly after I contacted support. Since then, everything has been stable. I’ve been monitoring the output occasionally, and it’s reassuring to see consistent energy generation day by day.

One thing I appreciated was their honest communication about expected savings. They made it clear that results would vary depending on usage and weather conditions. The installation team was careful and didn’t rush the work. There was a minor delay due to equipment delivery, but they informed me in advance. After installation, they explained how to maintain the system and monitor output. It’s been a few months now, and I can see a steady reduction in electricity usage, which makes the investment feel practical.

This review has been a long time coming. First and foremost, kudos to Scot and his team for all the solar and related work over the years. We love our system and the benefits it provides. Our initial installation in July 2016 included 40 panels on our roof plus all the related components necessary for system to operate. Scot took care of all the permits needed to make system operational and allow us to connect our system to the grid to sell back our excess to our electric provider. The best benefit at this time in our opinion was limiting what we had to pull from the grid by using solar power during the day. We've been with TXU for 25+ years and chose to remain with them but there have been other providers over the years to sell back excess generation as well as receive credit towards your bills so you have options. In August 2021, Solar CenTex built a steel pergola at one end of our pool with 15 glass solar panels on top, added a 2nd inverter to handle the new panels and installed a 16kW LG backup battery connected to the original inverter for storage and use during the night or when the grid goes down. The backup battery was a huge benefit. Finally, in June 2025 we added a 2nd 16kW LG backup battery along with a new main inverter to push more juice from house solar panels to replenish the batteries quicker and meet more daytime electrical needs. Our system was optimized for maximum battery use so we limit pulling power from grid as long as possible day and night. Also, we were able to add additional circuits to the backup system when grid is down so that more of our house is covered. Lastly, when the grid is up our system now uses battery power to supplement what is generated during the day from the solar panels and at night to cover all circuits in our house. We have two electrical mains for our house due to swimming pool needs and expansion to our home over the years and Scot's team handled everything in stride. I can't say enough about the quality of work and availability to troubleshoot system issues or just answer questions by everyone at Solar CenTex. Scot and his team are very responsive when contacted. We definitely recommend solar panels and backup batteries, all installed and serviced by Solar CenTex. And, if you happen to have a system installed by someone else but need assistance, give Solar CenTex a call and they'll do their best to get you up and running again. There is definitely something to be said for staying local when you have a reputable company close by.
