About

Boyd's Electric works as electricians out of Marble Falls, Texas, handling jobs across the local area with a focus on residential electrical systems. They take on smaller installs and bigger repair projects that homeowners run into when properties need updates or fixes. The crew gets calls for everything from adding circuits in outbuildings to sorting out old wiring that has turned unsafe over time. Boyd himself often shows up for estimates and lines up the work, while the team handles the actual running of wire and connections on site.

They run new lines for sheds and outdoor lights, hook up whole house generators like the Cummins models, rewire fixer upper homes where the old setup behind the walls creates hazards, and handle electrical repairs on RVs when owners need outlets or systems sorted. One job saw the crew finish a goat shed feed and light addition in a day and a half after a quick estimate. Another project involved checking stove outlet connections in a recently bought house. Generator work sometimes stretched out with repeated visits, and RV service calls led to scheduling mix ups that left customers waiting without clear updates on next steps.

Reviews show some customers liked the fast response on small jobs and the fact that estimates stayed in budget, but others ran into long delays, incomplete fixes, and poor follow through on bigger installs. Speed came through on straightforward tasks while quality and communication dropped when things got complicated, which pulls the overall mark down. DIRT Score 1.56 from 10 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

We had a small-ish job, running electrical to our goat shed and adding a light. My neighbor recommended Boyd, so I gave him a call. Boyd came out within a couple of days to provide an estimate. It was within my budget and we set a date. His crew finished the job in 1.5 days, which is what he expected, and the final price was what he quoted. That's what good service should be like. Boyd and his crew were friendly and did a heck of a job. It'll be nice this fall/winter to have lights in the barn. Thank you, Boyd! We'll be sure to recommend you to others and you'll get our calls for any other jobs we may need.

I was referred to Boyd to install a cummins in home generator.Boyd came out and said that he was unfamiliar with a cummins generator but he felt confident that he could do the job, unfortunately Boyd was wrong. It took him 7 months of back and forth trying to make it right . I paid him in full and in cash. I decided to cut my losses and hired a competent electrician that took the time to re wire the generator at the additional cost of $1557. I texted Boyd this info and even an explanation from the electrician on what was wrong. So far, no response back and i don't expect one. We recently had a power outage and the generator now works as it should. Though Boyd is a ni e guy, he should've told me that he wasn't able to properly work on this generator. Now I'm out another 1500 dollars. I do not recommend Boyd for this type of service. On a seperate note. Boyd did wire my pool and so far no issues.

We purchased our first "fixer upper" house last year in 2016. Needless to say, once we got behind the walls we realized how crazy and unsafe the wiring was for our electrical system. When I first contacted Boyd it was because I was needing to know if I had hooked up the outlet for the stove correctly. He gave me peace of mind over the phone that I had done everything right and then he came by in between jobs to see it for himself. A couple weeks later we were wanting to add two outlets to an existing circuit. For some reason that circuit had stopped working (no surprise, as i said before, its a fixer upper) and Boyd and his crew came out and fixed it along with an additional outlet that had been acting up. Even though my houses electrical system is a mess, they were able to think outside the box and fix the problem safely. They worked fast and effectively, they were knowledgeable, very professional and reasonably priced. They answered all my questions and gave me advice on how to go forward with our remodel. There are a lot of things my fiance and I can do on our own. Youtube/DIY videos are helpful of course, but sometimes you have to know your limits and when to hire a professional.I would recommend Boyd and his crew to anyone. I know I for one will be using him several more times until this remodel is complete. Thanks for everything Boyd's!

Horrible experience! About 2 months ago I called Boyds about doing some electric work on my RV. It was late afternoon so he said he would call me back in the morning to schedule an appointment. That morning he called and said he was on his way at 8am I called and texted him to let him know it would take me approximately 30minutes to get to where the RV was located. After waiting all morning I finally got a hold of him and he said he already came out and no one was there. So I reschedule for the next day. When he came out the next day he looked around for about 5minutes and said "I can't work on RV's" even though that's what I called him out to work on??? Then he charged my uncle who was meeting him 180$ to tell me he couldn't work on RV! Then it took me 2 days to get a hold of him to see why he didn't tell me that he didn't work on RVs in the beginning and why I was charged 180$ to do nothing! He said he was going to give me a refund but it never came and he hasn't returned my calls or texts over the last month. P.s the electrician that came out and fixed the problem charged 200$ that's only 20$ more than Boyds to do nothing

We had a great experience with Boyds Electric. We are doing a remodel and had some complicated electrical issues. Emory was competent, efficient and very professional. I highly recommend this business!
