About

Startech Electric runs as a father and son operation based right in Lakeway, Texas at 117 Lido St. They have handled electrical work for homes and light commercial spots across the area since 2006, covering Lakeway along with nearby Round Rock, Leander, and Austin. The business stays focused on showing up with the same crew every time so customers know who is walking onto the property. They keep the process direct by walking through needs on site and sticking to clear next steps without extra layers.

The team takes on residential and light commercial jobs such as full rewiring, indoor and outdoor lighting installs, ceiling fan repairs, outlet and switch replacements, panel upgrades, EV charger hookups, generator services, pool and hot tub wiring, timer fixes, and emergency calls. Bart and Travis often lead the work, like guiding a homeowner through phone steps to restore garage power the same day or surveying a house to quote and install surge protection while answering every technical question. Realtors call them regularly for make-ready electrical fixes that appear on most inspection reports, getting honest pricing and fast turnaround so listings stay on schedule.

Customers praise the crew for quick arrivals on urgent calls, steady quality that holds up after the work finishes, reasonable costs that match the quotes, and plain talk that keeps everyone informed from start to finish. Bart and Travis earn repeat business by listening to what broke, explaining options without pressure, and finishing jobs without follow-up issues. DIRT Score 5.0 from 259 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

We moved from MN to Old Lakeway a few years ago and we’ve needed an electrician on a couple of occasions now. Bart, Travis and staff at StarTech have been great to work with! Friendly, professional, efficient and always pleasant. If you have a need, we highly recommend StarTech.

As a realtor in the area dealing with a vast amount of clients that need to do make ready items before we list and electrical items that need addressing showing up on 75% of inspection reports, I cannot recommend StarTech enough. They are honest, reliable, responsive and reasonable. We have to work with fast timelines in this industry and I love having a local Lakeway company I can trust!

I contacted StarTech for same day help when our garage power went out. They walked me through the steps on the phone to check how to get the power back on and power was successfully restored! They were very helpful and informative!

StarTech’s people can help you as they did for us. They came to our home, surveyed the needs with us, quoted us a price, answered my calls for technical information vs. other’s products (e.g. the surge protectors), and completed the job yesterday. Through the process, Bart and Travis answered my questions and changes, Brad (electrician) quoted us the work price, and Patrick (electrician) and his assistant finished installations yesterday. Our whole home has a BTU Research ARC-TECH-PRO surge protector and power conditioner and our AC unit has a Ditek surge protector with a new contactor box. Also, Patrick also answered a couple of questions for me about breaker position for the BTU installation. These guys are great to work with! We are very pleased, and the cost was very reasonable (~half of the other quotes!). Our story: If you have not noticed, Central Texas has plenty of electrical power issues in our residences, even if you have underground power distribution to your home. Home age is a factor, and the code adherence as new homes are built or majorly renovated is too. Weather has an impact on your electrical system integrity. Our latest surge was on a bright sunny day, March 2, 2026 caused by “vandalism”, Austin Energy reported. The “surge” took out an expensive ceiling fan. Electrical companies “circled the wagons” on our home (1st surge loss in 39 years here) quoting 5-digit $um to fix us, provide surge protection, and get us “to code” safely. Seriously!?! The action: Get at least 3 quotes, learn from each one about the work proposed vs. your “problem to solve, peace of mind, safety”. Ask questions, check out reviews of the service, and the product specs to be installed.

We've worked with Startech twice now, once on a project prepping a home to be sold, and recently again to help address electrical issues in our new home and hang TVs. I can't speak highly enough about how helpful they were both times. Recommended only what was needed, got the job done quickly and were extremely knowledge and courteous. Highly recommend
