Archie'S Electric Inc
Electrician · McAllen, TX
About
Archie's Electric Inc works as electricians out of Mission, Texas. They take on residential electrical jobs for homes and rental properties throughout the area, dealing with repairs and installs that come up in everyday houses. Local property owners call them when fixtures stop working or when new setups are needed during builds or fixes. Their crew handles the wiring and equipment checks that keep power running steady in the heat and storms common to South Texas. This kind of work often involves quick responses to outages or additions that match the demands of the local climate and older homes in the region.
They show up for tasks like swapping out a ceiling fan that quit on a tenant property, where a technician arrived fast to get the new unit wired in and running. Scheduling often runs through Anna to keep things moving on those quick calls. Other jobs include putting in recessed lights during construction, though some of those have needed repeated visits, and hooking up tankless water heaters on new builds. The work mixes prompt responses on simple fixes with bigger installs that tie into plumbing or HVAC lines in the house. Crews manage these by checking connections and making sure the electrical side fits with the rest of the systems without extra delays from coordination issues.
Customers have mixed things to say about the results, with one noting fast service and clear talks on a fan job but others pointing to repeated light failures from wrong screws after a few years and a water heater hookup that needed full rework by another crew to allow proper maintenance. Speed and communication get some nods in isolated cases while quality and lasting fixes draw complaints that drive down the overall marks. DIRT Score 1.94 from 28 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“5 stars. Had a ceiling fan that stopped working for one of my tenants. I was able to order another one and the technician was able to come promptly and install it. Fan was working in no time. Thanks to Anna for great scheduling and communication throughout! Will be using them for all my electrical needs.”
“Update Within 3 years, they have replaced about 10 of these recessed lights and they still keep falling. I was told they used the wrong screws but because I’m out of warranty now they need to charge me. Liongate my construction company used them. Be warned you might go through the same thing. Check who your construction company uses and ask for a better contractor. This has become a headache to where Liongate just told me to call Archie’s directly. … Got stolen from twice from this companies workers and the owner takes no responsibility. I wouldn’t trust them.”
“Was hired by our builder to do our tankless water heater and they installed our tankless water heater incorrectly. Had to pay mikes to rip out their clueless work and put in the right tubing to allow for maintenance flushes of the system. Don’t use!!!! 100% rip off. Recommend Mikes Plumbing 1000x over these guys.”
“It took a year to get my house built and we finally moved in. Like they say, you will find out about the flaws of your house after a year or two. Last week we realized that the furnace was not working and within the day, Union AC came and fixed it. Even came back the same day to fix a defective part. On the same day we find out that the GFC plug in the laundry room keeps tripping the washer and the manufacturer recommendations on the washer does not recommend the GFC relay in the wash room because of how sensitive it is. I called Archie’s electric on that day, that was 7 days ago, and even left distressing message for them to call me back. I called the next day and they said they have received my message and are sending someone. Two days later I am told that someone is working on it, someone will come. Again two days later, same excuse. Today, one week later, my call in the morning ended with the owner was going to call me. No phone call from anyone so I call back in the afternoon and I was told that no one has received the message this morning and that they will get to it. Again they will mark the message “urgent”. I informed the lady that it’s been a week and her response was that they have calls like mine pending to be done for more than a week. Home builders beware, if your contractor is using this electric company know what you will be working with after the house is finished.”
“Archie’s was the only Electrical Company that responded to my inquiry in a timely manner. They fixed the grounding at my home in Laguna Vista. It was not an easy fix given that the Builder/Developer did not use the right grounding rod (used rebar) and the disintegrating rod was in cased in the cement walk way. He figured out a way to repair and not to break the cement walkway. The repair was completed in a few days … had to order the grounding rod. Also he did not charge me an exorbitant price for the repair.”
