About

Frank's Electrical Services, LLC works out of Mcallen, TX as a local outfit that takes on electrical jobs for homes and added structures around the property. They handle upgrades that bring older systems up to current needs, including service changes and new power runs where homeowners add workshops or other buildings. The crew stays busy with calls that come in from property owners dealing with panel issues or meter problems common in the area. Technicians like Lorenzo get sent out to track down faults that affect the whole setup, and the company keeps its focus on getting the wiring and breakers sorted without extra layers of management.

They perform full service replacements such as swapping in a 200 amp setup complete with a new meter and two breaker panels, then running lines out to fresh additions on the lot. One job involved spotting an unbalanced current at the meter that required a call to the utility before the fix could finish, while other calls cover standard repairs that keep the power steady. The crew charges by the hour even when time goes toward gathering tools or checking in with the office, and the truck they use can slow things down on the road. Homeowners see the work come out solid once the tech starts, but the process includes those extra steps that add to the total time on site.

Customers give credit for the quality of the actual repairs and the straightforward prices that match what they expected on average jobs, along with friendly and professional behavior from the electricians who show up. At the same time reviews note repeated problems with slow responses after cancellations, difficulty locking in a new date, and charges that cover time before the work begins, which pulls the overall marks down. These patterns across the feedback explain the middle range score that reflects both the solid fixes and the gaps in keeping schedules on track. DIRT Score 3.2 from 21 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Hired Frank's as a contractor for a large electrical upgrade to my entire property. They installed a whole new 200 amp service, meter, two breaker panels, and ran power to a new workshop I added to my premises. Took a couple of calls to get scheduled (I think they're just very busy, for good reason), but Frank himself came to do the estimate. Many companies send their newest journeyman I think. He was sharp, flippant, funny, and very easy to work with. Theirs wasn't the lowest estimate but was the most accurately itemized and they struck me as highly professional. That assessment was borne out in spades by the work they did. I found all three crew members who came to my home (Todd, Mario, and Lorenzo) to be highly knowledgeable, went above and beyond making several on-the-fly changes without additional charges, and the entire project (several thousand dollars) came in on time and slightly under the original estimate, even with a couple of unexpected but necessary additions. I'd had another company install a heat pump unit in the shop, and Frank's crew caught a couple of mistakes they had made in wiring placement so they were corrected before inspection. Arrived when they said they would, did the work they promised to do, and charged me what I expected. Can't say that about far too many businesses these days. Five star service in all respects. Recommended.

1st time using this company. Work was done just fine, as expected. Price was average, no problem. The electrician that showed up was very friendly and professional. What I wasn't expecting was to be charged for the time it took to gather tools, a phone call to the office before work actually started. oh, and there is a 2% extra fee if you want to pay with a credit card, which was undisclosed at the time of quote.... but it is mentioned on the invoice you get after the work is done and all you have is a credit card.

Solved same day. Slow truck. Lorenzo, Frank's tech, quickly discovered our problem was an abnormal unbalanced current from the meter. I needed to call PNM. Excellent work, very satisfied, EXCEPT for the round-up, against us, on the port-to-port trip surcharge: Due to a very big truck that only goes 65mph, a 25 minute trip (according to Google maps) took over a half hour, which bumped the port-to-port trip charge to a full hour (30 minute increments) on the clock at $85/hr, on top of the $25 fixed trip charge, on top of the actual work. REALLY? When I complained he offered a 10% senior discount (good to know about!); so we almost split the difference. Darn. And we so wanted to like these guys.

These guys cancelled on me because the electrician’s wife went into labor (which is understandable). However, I’ve tried to reschedule and they say they’ll call me back, but never do. So now I have to find someone who is reliable who will actually communicate.

Techs are friendly, prices are fair, the staff is nice, and the Frank guy seems a little crazy, but 10/10 would recommend.
