About
Sunbelt Electric Inc runs its operations from Phoenix, Arizona where the dry heat and constant sun put extra demands on electrical systems in houses and buildings. This family-owned outfit got its start back in 1989 when a father and son, both master electricians, decided to build something together. They have spent over three decades serving residential customers and commercial properties throughout the area with straightforward electrical services. The business remains focused on practical solutions for the unique challenges that come with living in this part of the country, including managing power loads during peak summer months when air conditioning runs nonstop and older wiring needs attention to avoid failures.
Electricians from this company handle full service calls that cover wiring upgrades for new appliances, panel replacements in older homes, and commercial setups that keep offices and shops running without interruption. In Phoenix the work often involves fixing heat-damaged outlets or installing dedicated circuits for heavy equipment that homeowners and business owners add over time. Crews show up prepared with the right tools to trace faults quickly and make repairs that hold up under the intense local conditions rather than cutting corners that lead to repeat visits. They also manage outdoor lighting and safety systems that protect properties from the elements while meeting code requirements that change with new construction in the valley.
Customers keep coming back because the crew shows up on time, explains the problem in plain terms, and finishes the job without surprise costs or delays that drag out simple fixes. Reviews highlight solid work on both quick residential repairs and larger commercial projects where reliability matters most during the hottest weeks of the year. The consistent feedback points to fair pricing that matches the scope of work and clear updates throughout each job so property owners know what to expect. DIRT Score 4.47 from 538 reviews on Finds.

“We submitted a service call through the warranty (AHS) and was referred to Sunbelt. Montana, the technician, was very nice but told me the problem wouldn't be covered by warranty. There are a ton of details but to sum it up Candy (aka Tracy as I named her) was so incredibly rude and unprofessional cutting me off prior to finishing speaking, shrugging me off because according to her things weren't covered. I had to fight for her to even submit a report to AHS. Once I spoke to AHS, I needed an amendment to the report. I wasn't asking for them to lie, simply to include the omission that the wiring was incorrectly installed to the appliance, which upon speaking to AHS WAS covered. She kept arguing things weren't covered. At this point, I just needed her to do her job to ask tech to resubmit t”
“I used my home warranty company (American Home Shield) to fix an issue with lights not turning on in a certain area of my house. Someone came out. Thought it wouldn't be too bad. The guy that came looked around for a bit then just stopped and said that the wiring in my house was "weird" and that they would have to call my warranty company back to see what they want to do. Then he left saying the warranty company would get back to me. He left a mess of screws on the ground, breaker box left open, and other debris everywhere. I had to call up the warranty company because I didn't hear anything back for days and they said they wouldn't cover my service because of the wiring ($125 bucks wasted, thanks) and said to contact Sunbelt to get a quote on fixing the issue. I contact them and they imm”
“Cole, the technician, just left my home. I asked Sunbelt to come out to repair my smoke detectors. He replaced one and tested our system. He was kind and thoughtful, professional and quick. I would have him back anytime!”
“Such a great great company. I sadly didn't get our technicians name but he was a white guy with blue eyes I think. AMAZING GUY. (Just saw his name is Frank). His attitude and love for his job had us all in love with him. Our problem was so so tricky but he put in his all to find out and he did!! He saved us hundreds and holes in our ceilings then more renovations. Great company and great employees 10/10!!!”
“Used my home warranty as my new oven was not staying on. Tech came to house and just said it was too much activity on GSI. He.said he would submit to home warranty and get back with us. 2 days later and no working oven, I called Sunbelt and was told it was denied. I contacted another electrician since Sunbelt didnt even look at GSI and low and behold, the GSI was actually burned out. Maybe had Sunbelt taken an extra 5 minutes to actually look--which would have made it a 10 minute visit--they would have seen that. That is was burned out and not just because the stove was new. I hope the $125 5-minute service call was worth it. Very poor service/attitude with 4 day turnaround time. Save yourself the frustration and dont even bother with these guys!”
“This electrician was dispatched through my home warranty company and spent less than five minutes at my home before deciding the issue was due to an “overloaded circuit,” which they said was not covered under warranty. There was no real discussion or explanation of what they believed the actual problem was. I was told they needed to get approval from the warranty company to proceed, and then they left. I later found out on my own that the issue was deemed not covered. My warranty company does not cover sending out a second electrician, so I requested that JP Electric return to provide an estimate or clarification on what they believed the issue was. They declined, stating they only accept jobs that are covered through the warranty. As a result, I had to pay out of pocket for a second ele”
“Came out, told me it'd be a simple fix and that he just needed to get permission to cut a hole in my roof to get to the attic. Told the home warranty company that the whole house needs to be re-wired, lied and said there were power cords being used for wiring. Home warranty denied to fix. Guess the guy got paid, though. Terrible service. Do not use unless you want them to lie so they don't have to do work.”
“Came out today for my home warranty and found the problem within just a matter of minutes. Very nice guy. Thank you very much.”
“Was sent out by home warranty told us he didn’t have enough time to complete service call due to another appointment, then they provided fraudulent information to our home warranty causing the claim to be denied. Horrible Customer service when I called them directly!”
“This company does not take work outside APPROVED warranty work. I was told that my home warranty wouldn’t cover the issue that sunbelt found at my home. Understandably so. But sunbelt will not come back out as an outside PAYING customer, to complete the job. Why they cannot come back out to complete this job and would rather send the work elsewhere is beyond me. Now I am still out electricity to a section of my home and have to start from square one finding a new electrician for a job that could be done in a day. Candy claims to be the “manager” however I do not know the validity behind this. Customer service is lacking. I expect more.”
