About

Comet Signs Llc works as an electrician out of San Antonio, Texas. The crew got its start as a small local shop handling electrical jobs around the area before Stratus took over and pushed toward larger contracts. They focus on electrical work that involves heights, such as reaching up on signs and structures in a city that sees plenty of heat, storms, and older buildings needing repairs and upgrades for both homes and businesses. San Antonio's mix of old construction and new developments keeps them busy with fixes that account for the local conditions and daily wear on electrical setups. The team handles tasks that require special equipment to get to those elevated spots safely while managing the steady flow of residential and commercial calls.

Crews run bucket truck operations along highways like 35 and 1604 for electrical sign work but have had unsecured items come loose and cause damage to passing vehicles. Early morning appointments often get pushed back because of internal safety meetings that crews must attend first. They prepare quotes for electrical sign projects under 100K and submit bids that sometimes involve federal government work, though adjustments to the original scope have created problems after a quote is signed. The crew now screens potential clients more strictly than before, and smaller jobs can take a back seat when national rollouts come in.

Customers report repeated issues with communication when trying to reach someone by phone or through online forms, along with delays in appointment times that affect their own schedules. The shift after the ownership change has left some feeling the service lost its earlier personal approach, with staff coming across as less helpful on smaller projects and quotes running higher than expected. Quality feedback mentions solid equipment in some cases but notes that results vary more now. DIRT Score 3.87 from 73 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Bucket truck on 35 and 1604 had unsecured items that came off and hit our windshield. Attempted to call but just sits on hold music. Submitted an online form as well.

No tolerance for a company that waste my life 7 o’clock appointment. I don’t care about their safety meeting. I care about getting loaded.

???Got a simple sign project under $100K?? !!! RUN !!! Don't walk. Comet Signs gave us a shiny SIGNED quote... so I did what any responsible business owner would do, I submitted a bid proposal to the federal government, and guess what? WE WON!!! Then Comet saw the project and stated in addition to its being "too small", the sales rep who signed off on the quote and gave it to me did it INCORRECTLY. They dishonored their quote and took off running like I asked them to install signs on the moon. You'd think, "Federal contract?" Surely, they'll take this seriously. NOT Comet/Stratus. To them, if it isn't $100K+ ... they ghost harder than Casper. They referred us to another company that charged double. We lost money because they did not HONOR their signed quote. No Accountability, Zero Help from the sales rep to the manager, to the director, to the CEO. NOT one person stepped up to fix their mistake. What can I say, Big Company Energy, but small heart for small businesses. DONT EXPECT RESPECT. Save your SANITY! Skip the STRESS!! And whatever you do, don't fall for the QUOTE TRAP! They don't practice what they preach - They state on their website "From coast-to-coast solutions to groundbreaking energy initiatives, our executives drive the strategies that help brands connect with their customers. Each leader brings deep industry expertise and a commitment to flawless execution" - (just fancy words with ZERO action.) STAY AWAY!! Bad for business! For individuals and small businesses like me.

Comet used to be a mom and pop shop. Now ever since being bought by Stratus all the small shop customer service left. Rude staff and they interview you as the client instead of the other way around "Comet by Stratus focuses on large-scale rollouts for national companies and would likely be over budget for a project of this size." - a Stratus Employee email response. Apparently a 200k sign budget is too small for them.Sad to say, but avoid this group and support local instead.

Comet Signs did an amazing job creating the neon sign we envisioned for our game room. Everything from the drawings to delivery were ahead of schedule. Excellent installation and follow up! We are extremely pleased with the turnout and it was the perfect addition to the space.
