About

Doctor Electric works as an electrician based in San Antonio, Texas. The company handles electrical work for homes and businesses in the region with a focus on repairs to existing systems and upgrades during new construction or additions. Their services include panel replacements, generator hookups, lighting installs, outlet and switch work, and full wiring runs for remodels. Technicians address common problems like faulty circuits or overloaded systems that homeowners face in the local climate where heat and storms put extra demand on power setups. They operate with licensed crews ready to respond when breakers fail or new circuits are needed.

The team performs electrical repairs on tripped breakers and pinched wires that cause repeated outages in kitchens and living areas. On one job a technician arrived but skipped checking the switch or wiring despite the homeowner explaining the safety concerns in detail. Another visit involved an AFCI breaker tied to both a fridge and microwave that kept failing after the builder handover, with the crew claiming fixes that never held. In remodel cases they located pinched wires under warranty but refused to correct them without extra payment. Appointments for added work often went unmet with no call or update from the office.

Customers have pointed out repeated problems with technicians skipping thorough checks on site and with scheduling that leaves homeowners waiting through full windows without notice. Communication falls short when issues like breaker trips persist after multiple visits, and professionalism slips when staff push back on fixing their own prior work. These patterns show up across jobs from initial builds to follow-up repairs. DIRT Score 2.34 from 21 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

The only reason I had to give a four out of five star review is because the first person who came to our home from Dr. Electric , did not even walk into the room, nor turn on the light switch nor check wiring after I had explained thoroughly what our situation was and that I was concerned about safety. I called our home warranty person and they called Dr. electric to explain my concerns and they did send someone else out who did an excellent job. Moe at Dr Electric was very helpful and understanding of our situation and made sure that everything was handled professionally. I was pleased with the work and the concern of the electrician who came out and took care of our problem, and made sure that our home was safe.

Terrible company. We have had issues from the beginning with the electrical and the breakers tripping. This company is who the builder used and they came out a few times and always said they fixed it but come to find out the issue is they have an AFCI breaker for both the fridge and the microwave range hood instead of a GFCI/combo all in one breaker that is meant to carry the load of larger appliances. This caused our fridge to trip and overload constantly which caused the compressor to go bad and we had to replace it. Since we are outside of the warranty for the home they won’t fix the mistake they made in the beginning. Stay far away from their lazy shotty work 👎🏽

They want you to pay to fix their unfinished work. My house was under warranty when they bid for the contract. They came to my home to fix the issue. During the call they found out that the breaker was tripping due to a pinched wires. They initially refused to fix the issue stating that since they did not wire my house they cant fix the issue. Also when the breaker fuse breaks again to just call them again and they can come switch it again. This was after they found the pinched wires. I asked why dont they just fix the wire thats causing the problem instead. I made the tech call the office. They reluctantly agreed and fixed the pinched wires that lead to 2 outdoor light fixtures (Remember this). A year later i was changing the light bulbs and noticed that the light fixtures were not sealed or screwed in all the way (pictures below). So this whole time the wires and fixtures were exposed to the weather. I called friday morning 9/23-22 and explained the unfinished work. The receptionist and office manager (alycia) said they would be more then happy to finish their job for $185.00 minimum. So, if your looking a company you pay to do some unfinished work and then pay again to come finish it later then Doctor electric is for you.

Completely unprofessional company. My builder used this company, so I contacted them to get some additional work done. They never showed up during the four hour appointment window and never called to provide an update or apology. When I called to obtain a status update, the receptionist had the audacity to tell me to call back the next day, and eventually hung up when I pushed back on the unprofessional behavior. One would think that they would try to rectify the issue on their end, but their proposed resolution was for me to track them down. My advice for anyone else is not to waste any time dealing with this company.

The guy name is moe and he is supervisor and he is very friendly and good service to me and knowledgeable about what’s wrong with breaker panel and he send technician guy is Mike and he see the bad breaker then replace it he is good worker and friendly
