About
Generator Exchange, LLC works as electricians out of Spring, Texas with a focus on generator systems for homes and light commercial spots. They stock air cooled units up to 26kW along with larger water cooled models and handle full installs that include gas lines, electrical hookups, and site prep. The crew manages annual service visits and repairs when problems show up after storms or regular use. Local homeowners often need backup power ready for outages, and this outfit stays busy with those jobs in the area around Spring.
They set up 26kW Generac units after events like hurricane Beryl, where Bobbie lined up the appointment and gathered site details ahead of time to keep things moving. Russell the owner tracks the timelines and brings in crews that handle the placement and connections on schedule. Maintenance calls cover yearly checks for a set fee, though some visits involve gas line work that can lead to corrosion if run under AC drip lines. The team also deals with follow up fixes on leaks or other electrical ties that come loose over time.
Reviews show solid marks on install speed and crew knowledge when projects stay on track, yet repeated notes about last minute maintenance cancellations and unanswered calls pull the overall mark down. Homeowners mention clear promises on timelines from the owner but frustration when service lines go quiet after payment. This mix of outcomes lines up with the average rating from real jobs. What Customers Say
“Not reputable. They installed the gas line from my new meter to the generator as shown in the photo, directly under a drip line from my AC. This caused the gas line to corrode and leak, could have burned down my house! Even with 2 annual service visits (which I paid hundreds of dollars for) they did not discover the damage which was due to improper installation. Then, they charged me over $400 to repair their mistake. The owner of the business is never available and never returns my calls. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS.”
“Had our yearly generator maintenance scheduled and then the night before appointment it gets canceled, with no explanation. I called several times and left a voicemail. They haven’t answered the phone once. I’m not sure how this company still runs when they don’t return calls or answer the phone.. it’s baffling. I called a different company and they answered immediately and will be here tomorrow for our maintenance!”
“Efficient, Professional 26KW Generac Installation by Generator Exchange After hurricane Beryl we contacted 3 vendors to install a Generac generator. Bobbie from Generator Exchange immediately setup an appointment to go over the details. She also collected site information ahead of time which made going over the proposals efficient. We opted for a 26KW Generac with cold weather start, a 10year extended warranty and an annual service contract. Within 3 weeks we had the install technicians come for a pre-installation inspection. They discovered a pre-existing issue with our electric setup which would require a major reconfiguration. Russell got his master electrician to evaluate the setup and proposed a rectification to bring it up to code and support the Generac install. The actual installation was done professionally by Mason and Caden. They also clearly explained key procedures we should follow to keep our generator working smoothly. Post installation, the crew cleaned up the area, returning it to its pre-installation state with no scattered debris. The entire process was smooth and was completed within a month. Our experience with Generator Exchange was smooth, professional and efficient. I highly recommend them.”
“I have dealt with Russell the owner. I have found him very professional and he kept up with his promises. He told me that my generator would be installed in two weeks and it has been his crew is also very professional and they appeared to know what they are doingand will be bringing in a Landscaper to correct where they had to dig the trench for the blinds. I could not be more happy with this company. I truly highly recommend them.”
“I didn’t realize I was getting the oil changed on a Bentley. They know people paid for the generator so they can try to rip people off…. I bought the generator for my family not because I had money to throw away. They didn’t lock it up or put the setting back to how I had them. And it looks like they messed up the casing around the generator It is not back together right. I’m getting alerts saying my generator won’t turn on if the power goes out. Almost 400 dollars for a quick oil change is nonsense. Stop ripping people off. EDIT, a year later I was surprised they are still in business so decided to try them again. Set the appointment and took off time from work to be home and they never showed up and no one answers the phone. I seriously can’t believe this company and how they treat people.”
