“Pierce and Belle has the look of a charming Old Town Spring boutique, but charm alone is not a business model. A rack of clothing does not become couture because it is surrounded by soft lighting and confidence. There are nice pieces here, certainly, but the store occasionally mistakes curation for self importance. Fashion should flatter the woman wearing it, not the ego of the room selling it. One would do well to remember that a boutique is not a throne room. It is a shop. A pleasant shop, perhaps, but still a shop. Three stars. I will pay for quality, taste, and service. I will not pay a premium simply because an item had the good fortune to be hanging in a small boutique.”
