“Unfortunately I am posting a 1 star rating vice a 5 star rating for Rodeo Electric. We went with Rodeo after seeing the high reviews as well as receiving recommendations from friends withing the Stephenville community, but apparently we should have looked elsewhere. We contacted Rodeo earlier in the week to have a new outlet placed in the garage due to the installation of a new wall-mount garage door opener. The rep arrived just a bit before noon, looked at the job, and stated no problem but he needed to leave to get a part. After not returning for several hours, nor receiving any communication from him, we contacted him to ask if he was coming back today or another day as our gate was still open. His reply "Ya, I'm not going to do your job, have a good day", to which we replied "Ok, thank you". Then he replied "No thanks" and that was it. What a weird way to conduct business. Either the job was too complicated for him, or he felt it was not worth his time, but he could have at least stated up front he was passing up on the job and not a lame "need to leave to get a part". I am all about supporting local businesses but apparently Rodeo doesn't need my business nor the upcoming electrical upgrade project that is slated this summer for our workshop expansion project. Response to Rodeo Owner (16 May2036): Thank you for the response, and I thank you for stating the reason as to why you decided to not do the job. 1. I was expecting to be charged an OT rate since it was a Saturday, which was your choice given your website states you are closed on Saturday & Sunday. 2. Apparently your bid from 4 years ago was a bit high which is why we went with a different company, to which was completed without any issues. So kudos to that company, but if they are upset about completing the workshop as stated in the contract then what can I do about that? I didn't draw up their contract. I guess the electrician mafia underground says otherwise. 3. The topic of the communication was the biggest issue since it could have been stated we "can't" or "won't" do the job instead of just going silent after leaving the property. That would have been fine with us as at least we would have known to not contact you again due to the bid / quote issue involving the workshop from 4 years ago. 4. The workshop project involves not just the 1 plug in the empty stall, but also the carport that is going up next to it. That would have involved lights, wiring, outlets, new breaker box and possibly even adding a new meter connection to the street pole, which we all know involves the local utility company. Of course we never discussed that part since the silent game was apparently in effect after you left the property. 5. I added another star for the communication aspect. In closing, now that we understand why you left the way you did we will make sure to not contact your business again. Hopefully we can just drop this matter and move on from this interaction. Thank you for your time and we apologize for you having to take time away from your family on a Saturday in coming out to our property. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.”
