“I hired Dr. Watts to install a Tesla Wall Connector at my home. While this seemed like a relatively simple job — something I could’ve done myself — I opted to have it professionally installed for peace of mind. The technician who arrived initially appeared knowledgeable but acted as though he had never seen a Tesla Wall Charger before — which surprised me, given how common they’ve become. He was young and seemed somewhat inexperienced. The quoted price was $750, which struck me as steep considering the parts cost around $150 and the panel was relatively close by. Still, I was paying for quality and peace of mind. Unfortunately, the contractor undersized the breaker by 10 amps, and the way the conduit was interfaced with my home was crude and poorly finished. Is the work functional? Yes. But was it worth $150 an hour for what should have been experienced, professional labor? Probably not. ⸻ Update (as of 7/14/2025): Dr. Watts sent a more experienced technician to inspect the previous work. He agreed that the installation could have been done better. They are currently working on a resolution, which may include re-running the circuit and repairing damage to the siding to ensure the conduit interface is more permanent and professionally finished. What I didn't appreciate was the repeated attempts to get out of re-finishing the work. I was repeatedly asked if I would like them to fix it. Which as a non-confrontational person I find frustrating. Either fix it or don't, and if you are going to fix it, I'm hoping you don't surprise me with another $1000 bill for the repairs. We will see how this works out. As an example I'm providing a picture of a conduit run of the electrician who ran our solar system. I don't expect it to be painted, that was done by us. But I expect the interface with the home to be natural and permanent. Update (as of 7/15/2025) Dr. Watts is scheduled to come out tomorrow, they stated that they will re-run the circuit and ensure it's finished correctly, and will repair the damage to the siding of the home. Something that I appreciate is that their call staff have exceptional customer service skills. Very friendly and personable. I'll update further with updated pictures on the final product. Update (as of 7//19/2025) Dr. Watts did return and rerun the line, and they also contracted another company to repair the damaged siding on the house. The work is now completed to the standard I had originally envisioned—seamlessly integrated into the home with a clean, professional finish. What I appreciate most is that Dr. Watts clearly stands behind their work. If you’re ever unsatisfied, they will go above and beyond to overcome any obstacle and ensure the customer is fully satisfied. Because of this commitment, I can confidently recommend Dr. Watts to any client. I truly appreciate the effort they put in to make things right. Unfortunately I've had horrible experiences with contractors in the past, and most would shy away from doing any sort of repairs, or would ghost you entirely. Not Dr. Watts”
