Authentic Electric

Authentic Electric operates as a straightforward electrician service based in Tucson, Arizona, serving both homes and businesses throughout southern Arizona. They concentrate on core electrical needs without extras, holding the ROC license 345475 that keeps their work legal and insured in the state. The crew handles everyday calls from local property owners dealing with aging wiring or new installations, focusing on practical fixes that match the demands of the desert climate where temperatures push electrical systems hard year after year. Homeowners here often face overloaded circuits from constant air conditioning use, and this outfit stays ready for those routine but critical jobs that keep power flowing safely.

They install EV chargers from every major brand along with the full circuitry and connections required to support them. Panel work includes swapping out main electrical panels, adding subpanels, and fitting surge protection to guard against spikes. Their repair side centers on troubleshooting, where technicians track down faults in residential and commercial setups before they cause outages or hazards. In Tucson the dry heat and dust accelerate wear on breakers and outlets, so these services target the exact problems that come up often, like tripped panels during summer peaks or wiring issues in older neighborhoods that need updating to handle modern loads without repeated failures.

Electricians in this region earn solid reputations by showing up on time, quoting fair prices upfront, and delivering work that holds up against the intense sun and temperature swings that stress every component. Homeowners consistently note reliable communication when issues arise and quality results that avoid callbacks, especially on panel upgrades and charger installs that tie directly into daily comfort. That steady performance across dozens of jobs builds trust with locals who need dependable help without delays. DIRT Score 4.75 from 59 reviews on Finds.

“Josh installed a new electrical system to replace a very old box and wiring. Before this, we had old wires going everywhere, with some causing shorts, electrical shocks, and even a small fire at switches. He pointed out some Code issues (box needing clearance, water line too close, etc) and gave me time to correct those before he started. He uses quality materials, and explains clearly what he's doing. Wonderful personality! By far, the most reasonably priced professional and competent electrician we have used. We recommend Authentic Electrical without reservations! Old & new pictured”

“We were experiencing voltage drop flickering and at times it was severe. After calling TEP and there dispatch of a tech, we still had the issue. I was told by several contractors that my main breaker panel (Federal Pacific) was obsolete and should be replaced. We got three or four references and tried to get bids for the job but we were not getting bids and the problem persisted. When Josh showed up he dug right in looking at our problem. I am a C-11 Elevator Contractor in California and know a bit about electrical wiring, codes, and contracting. Like the name says, Josh is “authentic”. He gave me real answers to my questions and took my information seriously. It didn’t take long before we were working together to solve my problems. Josh gave me the information I needed to get TEP to retu”

“Here is a clean, polished review that keeps your voice but elevates clarity and impact: ⸻ I had an outstanding experience with Authentic Electric, and especially with Josh. He handled both broad and highly detailed electrical work with precision and efficiency. From the start, the company was quick to respond, easy to schedule with, and consistent with follow up. Josh required very little direction. He was able to quickly assess the situation, identify the issues, and execute the solution without wasted time or confusion. He installed a Tesla charger, ran the necessary line and box, and handled additional work like GFIs and both indoor and outdoor electrical without any issues. The scope did not matter. His execution was consistent across the board. What stood out most was how meticul”

“After several other bids and a lot of "figuring out what went where," we found Authentic Electric and Josh. Our goal, to put in a 240V plug for our new EV. Josh quickly assessed our entire electrical load at the house, and we talked through the best location for the outlet. His bid was reasonable, and he got the work completed in just a few hours. He's great to work with, has a terrific knowledge base, and made this new addition to our house safe and reliable.”

“Authentic Electric was recommended to us by our neighbor to install a surge protector at our electrical panel. We were very pleased with the prompt service and quality of the work done by Josh. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained everything very well. He also fixed a dimmer switch issue we were having in our dining room. We highly recommend Authentic Electric for any of your electrical needs.”

“Josh, of Authentic Electric was fabulous! He is punctual, knowledgeable, and explains things so a non-electrician understands. We had him install our 1st EV -charger for a Mustang, Mach E GT. After he completed the installation, he took extra time with us to make sure we understood how to properly use the system for our EV, and 2 PHEV’s. I wholeheartedly recommend Josh.”

“Josh went out of his way to provide same day service. Extremely professional. Explained all the options in a clear way, and his work was fairly priced. Will recommend to friends and family.”
