About

D&S Electrical Contracting Llc works as electricians based in Conroe, Texas. They handle jobs around the area where storms knock out power equipment or homeowners need extra outlets and wiring run for new setups. The company shows up for calls on meter replacements after branches fall during bad weather and for running new lines through ceilings and walls in offices or houses. Their trucks get spotted on local roads, and they deal with both residential and some commercial electrical needs in the Conroe area where weather can cause sudden issues with power systems. Crews take on requests to fix or upgrade service points and add connections for devices like televisions.

Customers have called them for replacing a meter hit by a falling branch in a storm, with costs reaching nearly six thousand dollars, but then faced problems getting the right details sent over for insurance claims. Other jobs include adding a plug five feet above an existing one and running a coax cable three feet from an open ceiling tile down the wall. They also come in for bigger electrical projects around the house, though sometimes they start strong on the first day only to leave things unfinished or scattered about. Drivers have been noted for not following traffic signals properly on the roads in town. These tasks cover common needs like storm repairs and basic outlet or cable extensions that come up in local homes and offices.

Reviews point to repeated issues with how the work gets handled and finished. Homeowners mention high bills without enough paperwork to back up claims for reimbursement, messes left behind after crews depart, and simple requests for outlets or cables not going smoothly. Safety concerns come up too with how vehicles are operated. These patterns across the feedback lead to the overall rating. DIRT Score 2.68 from 19 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Replaced a meter that was damaged during a storm due to branch falling on it! Charged almost $6000, for me to be reimbursed by insurance he needed to explain why new meter had to be installed! I agree, new one was needed, but he would not send appropriate information to our agent or me! Would not return calls! Makes me feel he greatly overcharged, but we needed it done as tenant had no power for several days! My fault for not checking him out & going with my tenants referral! Never again!

Saw their truck blatantly run a red light this morning! It was red for a good while and they still ran it! Drivers seriously need to watch what they are doing. Gonna get someone killed!

These guys came out for some extensive work and the first day I was really impressed. The second day they just left, and when they did they left behind a big mess in several places around my house. I called the owner and told him what happened, sent pics of the mess and he was apologetic, but said he wasn't able to hire good electricians because he couldn't find people motivated and willing to work. I finally got two other of his guys to come over and complete the job and these guys were great. Sadly, overall I would not refer this business to a friend.

If I could post zero stars, I would. This is my first review ever to post ... it was that bad! We are installing a television in one of our offices and needed them to add a plug 5 feet directly above an existing plug and run a coax cable 3 feet from an open ceiling tile down the wall and install next to plug. This is so we can mount TV on the wall and not have cables everywhere. They show up at 10am, and the guy immediately apologies that he didn't have his normal truck which had supplies on it and had to go back and get supplies. They came back an hour and a half later (which they charged me for) at 11:30 and began work. There are two guys there, but one guy mostly worked while the other one disappeared for half of the time. Then they started having side conversations about their lives to people working in my office for long periods of time ... I'm all for being friendly, but please don't charge me for it. When they finished, I got a bill for $806.00!!!!! It was $150/hour for two people ... which they charged me $225 for the 90 minute trip to go back and get a plug they should have already had on the truck (we told them ahead of time what was needed) - was also charged for the one worker not working half the time and all of the side conversations. They did have to do some extra drilling but spoke to a good friend of mine that's an electrician out of town and he said that's a $250 job at best. I called and spoke to the manager about it who didn't care to hear at all what I had to say and was very defensive about the sequence of events. He said he would call me back but didn't. As a business owner myself, I honestly thought the manager/owner would want to hear what I had to say, but I very quickly learned he didn't. I went to their office the next day to go over the bill (for the principle of it) with the manager, but things got even worse. He immediately got defensive, didn't care what I had to say, and the discussion got heated. If the manager would have treated me like an important customer and cared to hear at all what I had to say, I wouldn't be writing this. I DO NOT EVER RECOMMEND USING THEM!!!!

Very pleased! Fast response time and great work. Daniel was friendly and thoroughly explained what was causing the problem.
