About

Quitman Electric Company, Inc operates as electricians out of Longview, TX and handles power service for local homes. They deal with the practical side of keeping electricity running through bad weather and payment problems that hit residents here. Common issues include sudden outages from storms and the need to manage balances on prepaid setups before a shutoff hits at ten in the morning. Crews respond to calls about lines going dark and work on restoring service without extra fees piling up from the utility side. Homeowners in the area often face ice and wind that knock out power, so these electricians focus on quick response to those events and account fixes that prevent total loss of service during cold snaps.

Their work covers storm damage repairs and payment account adjustments that stop the meter from cutting off. One customer named Steve Gracy noted the team fixed extensive storm damage much faster than expected and avoided a drawn-out blackout. Sherri Wolf described how the service kept power on for a full week during a snow storm even though her smart card balance went negative and no deposits could be made at the bank. Other calls involve setting up automatic bank debits, though those sometimes stop after years without notice and trigger late charges as Audie-Louisa Butcher experienced. Cran Bear tried to add funds right before the daily cutoff but found the lines busy when crews were already stretched thin on other jobs.

Feedback shows solid marks on speed during actual repairs and storm response, yet lower scores on consistent billing communication and account reliability that lead to unexpected fees. Customers appreciate the fast turnaround on physical electrical fixes after weather events but run into frustration when debit setups fail or payment windows close during peak demand. The mixed results across hundreds of accounts point to strengths in field work paired with gaps in office-side follow-through. DIRT Score 2.89 from 170 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

I am LIVID right now. I called WELL BEFORE TURN OFF AT 10 a.m……………. Trying to put what little I have to keep the electric from turning off because if it turns off you have to put extra money on to get it turned back on. Anyway so I called right but get told “ohh looks like they are busy right now they will call you back very soon” well GO FIGURE THEY NEVER CALLED ME AND INSTEAD LET MY POWER GET TURNED OFF…… the very thing I was trying to avoid!!!!!! I CALLED WELL BEFORE TURN OFF!! Why would you lie to me and not call me back?????? Yall need to retrain your phone staff because this is totally unnecessary and NOT FAIR…….. thanks for the HORRIBLE start to my day in my horrible life. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone .

We use smart card. During the recent snow storm we weren't able to get money into the bank and there was no way to load the card. It was in the negative. Usually electric goes off at 10am if in the negative. It never went off for us and was in the negative for a week. It's really appreciated! Just wanted to let someone know. Our electric never went off. On the rare case there is an outage, it's taken care of quickly. They do a great job!

On two separate occasions, I have set up my account to be automatically debited from my bank account. The first time, it was debited for 5 years and then one day it just stopped. I had to pay a late fee. So, last month I had my account set back up to be automatically debited from my bank account. The person I talked to on the phone assured me that it would be debited this month I just checked and sure enough there is a late fee. The money has been in my account all along as it was previously. Although this keeps happening, Wood County Electric refuses to accept responsibility.

Thank you all for the wonderful service you perform. I was expecting a lot longer outage, but your team did amazing work. I saw all the damage that was done and did not think I could be repaired that fast. Amazing!!!
