Groundhog Fence Company

Groundhog Fence Company handles fencing work out of Battle Ground. Darran runs the crew along with Aaron and a few others who handle the installs and fixes. They put up new fences, repair damaged sections, replace old runs, and build custom gates. The company also does gate automation and works with cedar, chain link, ornamental, privacy, vinyl, and wood materials on residential jobs.

Homeowners call them after storms knock fences down or when gates start tilting and scraping. Darran and Aaron have replaced entire property lines, extended gate openings, removed old chain link and post and dowel styles, and matched new boards to existing wood so the color lines up. They have repaired shared fences between neighbors, built garden and equestrian sections, and swapped out warped boards or corner posts while keeping the rest intact. The crews finish these jobs with steady work and attention to how the fence sits and lasts.

They answer messages quickly, show up on time, and keep customers updated through each step. Pricing comes in fair and the work stays within the estimate. The team serves Battle Ground, Vancouver, Camas, Ridgefield, La Center, Washougal, Woodland, and other spots in Clark County. They work through rain and finish projects on schedule even when the job involves demo of thirty year old material or tight timelines before holidays.

“Darran was great at communicating with us throughout the process of replacing our fence that blew down and the final product looks amazing! Definitely going to call them when we need to replace the other side and gate. Highly recommend these guys!”

“‼️ Warning Long Post ‼️ Two summers ago my husband & I spent a good part of the summer designing & building our fence. He got so frustrated with me because I had a vision….. It was the last big project we did together. We were supposed to finish the gate (i finally settled on the insert i wanted) & the opposite side of the yard this last summer but my husband broke his shoulder….. then he was gone. This winter really made that last part of the fence give up. I needed to find a fence company that could fix it up. Darran from Groundhog came out to see what he could do for me…… I didn’t have the energy to care about the way the fence looked as long as it matched in color & was durable….it had to contain two big dogs. I was just figuring a quick fence & the gate needed built. The only thing I asked for was to have the insert put in the gate & the wood was stained the same color. Darran saw our fence…….& said we can do this. We can finishing it & they did it, perfectly. 😭 Darran was an absolute dream to work with & his crew is super fast & professional. It took less than two days for a large gate with an insert, a 55 foot fence & they built a fence for my neighbors in that timeframe to”

“Groundhog repaired a fence on the property line I share with a neighbor. The fence feels sturdy and looks great. I'm 100% happy. My neighbor sent me this: I have nothing but praise for the excellent job they did. We are very satisfied with their work, very cordial, very professional.”

“Darran, Aaran, and family were a pleasure to work with replacing the fence around our entire property. They were very professional, on-time and at a fair price. The quality of the work and materials was first class. I would highly recommend them!”

“Groundhog fencing just completed a large project which included demo of a 30+ year post and dowel fence on our rural property. The Groundhog crew then replaced and installed 330 feet of post and dowel fence using quality material. When the project was completed it exceeding my expectations. In addition to the new fence installation the crew repaired a portion of a second, post and dowel fence. They were able to utilize usable post and dowel from the demolition of my old fence, the patina on the posts and dowels matched perfectly. When completed the repair looked seemless. What I appreciated was the crews attention to detail and their steady work sessions as they completed the project. Darren, from the start, communicated each step of the process and the crew was punctual each day. No delays or excuses, just solid craftsmanship and a reasonable price.”

“I recently had a new fence installed by Groundhog Fence Company, and I can say without hesitation that Darran and his team exceeded my expectations in every way. From the beginning, Darran was thoughtful, professional, and willing to work with me to find a solution that fit my budget. That alone meant a great deal, but what truly impressed me was the quality of the finished product and the experience from start to finish. The craftsmanship of my fence is outstanding. The look, feel, and overall finish are even better than I imagined, and the attention to detail is evident throughout. It is clear that Darran and his team take real pride in their work. What also stood out was how kind, respectful, and professional everyone was during the installation process. They kept me informed, included me along the way, and made sure I felt comfortable and confident in every step of the project. That level of care and communication is rare and deeply appreciated. “My neighbors had their fence replaced recently. If and when I am ready to replace mine, I know who will do the job. They are very quick and it looks amazing. I had asked where they recycle the old fence, they gave me some options and before I knew it they had offered to take some old lumber that was a eyesore and wouldn’t fit in my car to take to the dump. If they were kind enough to help out an old lady on SSI, they will certainly take care to do an awesome job for you. They made my day.”

“Excellent company. Darran is very professional and responded very promptly to all my messages. He did a job for us even though he is a couple of hours away. He repaired our wood fence that was destroyed in an unfortunate event 10 days before Christmas. He also scheduled the job promptly within 3 weeks. The results are excellent and matched the existing fence! (We had a shared fence with the other units.) Price is very reasonable, too. Thank you.”

“10/10 would recommend, good price and great work. We had to rush to put in a deck to finalize our house, crew came in and met all expectations, and deadlines. Can’t go wrong with Groundhog fence!”

“I had a great experience with Darren and his team. They recently completed a “smaller” (about 19 feet) fence with a gate and I am happy with the result. From start to finish, the communication was top-notch. They kept me informed throughout the entire process, answering all of my questions promptly and ensuring that I was always on the same page. The team was professional, efficient, and took great care in making sure everything was done right. I highly recommend Darren and his team if you’re looking for reliable, professional, competitive pricing and quality fencing services.”

“Amazing work. Daren and his crew completed a fence modification project where he extended the width of the vehicle gate opening . He was available to quote the project very quickly and was responsive throughout the process, insofar as being flexible to my schedule. The project was completed so fast, but perfectly executed. He custom built the gate. One note: when Daren came by to take the measurements, he didn't write anything down while we were talking. But, the gate is a perfectly executed modification. It's so impressive to meet an excellent craftsperson and someone so talented. Very happy to have found Daren and his company, highly recommend for small and large projects.”

“Phenomenal job building our garden fences and our equestrian fence. Not only were they very fairly priced but They showed up early and worked hard all day rain or shine. Highly recommended.”

“Darren and Arran was Awesome. I could not be more happy with the quality of their work. It far surpassed what I was expecting. The metal poles the metal framed gates the clean the courtesy was fantastic. I even had a special request and it was something he said that was not something that was ever done but he found away and provided me with exactly what it was that I wanted. I most certainly would suggest them to any one. I got to see first hand how our neighbors fence turned out and I knew I needed to turn down our 3 other offers. Thank you to DC fence and team. 👍🙏”
