“Severe Draining issues as a result of poor landscaping work on a brand new house…Irrigation system has been off for over 2 weeks and we are in need of a French drain as we are under warranty. Landscapers came back to confirm no issues with our irrigation system and decided to make a makeshift draining in our lawn with a pickaxe and replacing wet sod with a few patches of new sod as their solution….No communication in a resolution on this and I regret making a purchase of our house with our builder (DR Horton) if I knew the subcontractor would do this type of work.”

“I have been experiencing leaky/burst/broken parts ever since I moved into my brand new house last year. Choate installed the system and I have been forced to deal with them in order to be covered by the warranty. The first major issue I’ve experienced with them is that their emergency line is practically non-existent. I ended up having to go outside of my warranty at one point because I had a major burst pipe that caused the water to my entire house to be shut off, and I couldn’t even get Choate to pick up the phone. The next major issue is that I had someone out for repairs for ANOTHER issue later on, and the repairmen couldn’t even give me a quote. We stood in my front yard while someone from their office called me with a quote. She herself told me that she didn’t know the full amount, but could give me the labor cost without the part and without the tax. She also made me give her my credit card info over the phone before they would proceed with the repair. This estimate was understated by about $200. So they had me agree without a true accounting of the amount and had me agree to the work so I’m on the hook no matter what. I would rather pay for a plumber outside of my warra”

“AVOID AT ALL COST I am beyond appalled by the utterly incompetent and deceitful practices of Choate. My experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare. Initially, they failed to charge my card for their services. Rather than contacting me to resolve the payment issue, they blindsided me months later with a legal notice. When I called their customer service to rectify the situation, I was assured that the matter would be taken care of. However, to my shock, I soon received another legal notice stating that a lien had been placed on my property. This outrageous escalation occurred without any prior attempt at direct communication or resolution. My second attempt to address the issue was met with the most appalling customer service I have ever encountered. The supervisor I spoke with was exceptionally rude and dismissive. She presented me with two unacceptable options: pay the amount to have the lien released or handle the matter with the county myself. Her attitude was essentially a giant “screw you.” I informed her that their handling of this situation was borderline fraudulent and that their company would not only lose my business but also the business of my”

“Absolutely the worst mannered supervisor of customer service. If there was a way to give them a zero star, I would have done so. They were contracted by our builder to install the sprinkler system. We have 11 zones and zone one is for the front yard. Instead of putting half the heads on one zone and the other have on zone two, they put 75% of them on zone one (about 20+ heads) and 25% of them on zone two (about five heads). My zone one hardly has any pressure and half the yard is dead due to lack of water. When I called to ask why it was done that way, all I heard from the supervisor is that it was out of warranty. I repeated to her that I was not calling for warranty service but rather to see if someone can come by and check to see what can be done. To do so, they want to charge me $135 plus any and all other charges for parts and labor. Worst company ever. No wonder my builder fired them and contracted another irrigation company for their homes.”

“In a new construction home for about 9 months, noticed a couple sprinkler line leaks and a rotary head too high. Called Choate, the vendor who installed the sprinkler system, to schedule repairs. They were able to have a crew came out the next day. They made all repairs quickly and tested the entire system. They were very friendly and did a great job.”

“I am extremely frustrated. I just moved into my new house and my sprinklers have not worked since I moved in. After being on the phone for over an hour last week I final had an appointment for tech to come from 1-3pm today. At 3:15pm I called to see where the tech was and I was told that he was at my house earlier today and he knocked on the door and no one answered. I never received a call prior to the tech coming to let me know he would be there before my appointment. I had to leave work to come home and now after being on the phone for the last hour with multiple people they said a manager could come by tomorrow, but they do not know at what time. I now have to lose another day of work for your company to right their wrong. Terrible company with terrible customer service.”

“Absolutely horrendous. We've had nothing but problems and service calls, since we purchased our brand new home with a Choate-installed system. I cannot imagine a worse company to do business with. We have zones running when they aren't supposed to and when people come to look at it, they have no idea what the issues are. So I'm wasting tons of water, running the same zone with all the others simultaneously because nobody can figure it out. Would never recommend this company, to my worst enemy.”

“We had a pool put in the back and "Our Country Homes" had Choate USA give them a price quote for our backyard for it to be completed after the pool's completion. Our Country Homes then gave us a credit for that amount. They let us know that they would be giving us the discounted quote for our builder but that they would honor this quote when they came back to finish the job after closing when the pool was done. (The quote ended up being $3,000 to $4,000 less than four landscape companies we've contacted) When our pool was complete and we contacted Choate to complete the project, they informed us that they were "too busy" to finish our job. Not only is this completely a lack of integrity and an exact example of bad business, but the job that Choate USA completed on the front of our yard was sloppy to say the least. We have pictures of trash and empty water bottles that were left under the sod. One random hole was deliberately filled with water bottle trash and then covered with a rock before sod was placed on top. Some patches of the sod were 80% weeds that we literally had to cut out. The grass looked as though it had never been rolled. Random people who came by our house ”

“I would not recommend this company at all out of Sanger Meadow.. There were faulty connections and the map of the zones were completely useless.. I've found valve locations up to 40' away from where they are supposed to be located based on the map they provided. - Faulty equipment - Inaccurate Mapping”

“Customer service is bad. Lisa Rosales Call Center Manager just called me a liar. A person in their office told me one thing and then Lisa says oh no they didnt tell you that because we are not authorized to say that. No one in their office knows what is going on. The Manager was suppose to call me Friday to authorize work for my system. He never called, then went on vacation for a week. Nice way to treat your customers. They didn't install my system to City Code and now I'm trying to deal with them on that. I wasted a day waiting for Choate to come out and work on my system. They cancelled all appointments for the day yesterday due to a light sprinkle in the morning. I finally called them around 4pm and they said they called all the customers and left a message. I said uh no you didn't I did not have any missed calls from Choate. Mark P. Choate you should be ashamed of your business!!”

“Terrible communication from management team. I was called over a month ago stating the manager would call me in order to set up an appointment for them to come out to my home to level my backyard. An entire month has passed by and I have not been informed of anything. Have tried calling several times and each time they say the manager left a note saying he would go out on a certain date. But once that date comes they are a no show. I call back to see what happened and they keep saying there was no notes on management coming out to home. When I try getting managers number to escalate these issues they say they will not give me a number. When I try getting an email of confirmation of when they are to come out. They say they are not allowed to send emails. Terrible communication and terrible service.”

“Absolutely ridiculous people. I called them about a broken head on my new house in Princeton, TX part of The Trails at Riverstone community. Two technicians came out and told me ATT had cut a head off with their trenching tool and to claim through ATT. I did exactly what they said. Then they told me that being I had called ATT my warranty was no longer valid. The two customer service reps I talked to were not very nice about it either, just reporting they were not going to fix my problem without a 130.00 fee up front to come out and begin looking at the issue anymore. They have no ownership of their work. Buyer beware. Do not deal with these people. Bypass them. Hire someone else. You’re better off!”

Cedric Seymore

“New build back in September and the tree they installed was planted too low and the dripper was buried under the foot of mulch they hid this with. No warranty which is fine but they would not release the name of the tree farm they bought it from to inquire on warranty or a replacement.”

“Took Payment prior to the (garden sprinkler) work. Payment apparently failed through no fault of mine. Instead of calling me, sent 4 letters on the same day threatening Liens and Legal action. Agent unable to explain why no-one picked up the phone to resolve this. Also very expensive. I would suggest avoiding this company if possible.”

Jimmy Hill

“They installed my sprinkler system before I moved in while the house was empty no one living in it. Leaked 61k gallons of water. they said there was no issue. the city came out and inspected it and showed me when the shut the sprinkler off the water meter stops turning. They deny liability and said I must have left the water on”

“Choate Irrigation is the best sprinkler system company hands down. We have been in our home over 7 years, and have used them the entire time. If you want superior customer service, and the work done right the first time, you definitely must go with Choate Irrigation. Thank you once again!”

Chrisshone Swayne Reese

“Son had his landscaping done from this company and they botched the job. Bags and items left under the sod leading to dead sod. Draining issues for which a shortage of sod is cited as an excuse for not regrading the soil. Real estate and contracting work are the areas with the most horrendous service. A shotty work for a subcontractor.”

Wajid Ali

“Called them out for a sprinkler leak. They couldn't find and charge me 160 but another company came out and immediately diagnosed the leak and fixed it. Choate owes me my money back.”

Rudy

“Extremley rude and unprofessional customer service. Will not take ownership of responsibility. Will hang up on you. Better off paying more for someone else.”

“This Company have the worst customer service, work quality, and will not stand behind the rushed shabby work the do. I would not wish this company on my worst enemy. Watch out for the (illegal) workers work ethics... BE YOU WARNED ABOUT THIS COMPANY”
