Veteran Fence Experts

Veteran Fence Experts runs fencing work out of Clackamas as a veteran owned outfit. Alex handles every job from the first call through the final cleanup, which keeps overhead low and prices competitive. The company puts in new fences and gates, fixes damaged sections, and builds custom designs. Materials include wood, vinyl, and aluminum, and the same person measures, digs, sets posts, and finishes the work on each project.

Homeowners describe Alex installing 250 feet of black chain link on sloped ground, running 60 feet of wood fence right next to new garden plants without harm, and pulling out boulders and roots to set posts for 650 feet total across multiple visits. He has rebuilt gates, added an arched arbor over entries, replaced storm damaged sections across a quarter acre lot, and put up white vinyl rail fencing plus ornamental backyard styles. Results come out sturdy, straight, and ready for use with no leftover mess on the property.

Alex answers texts and calls quickly during quotes, lays out the plan in advance, and sticks to it on site. Jobs stay on schedule and within budget even when ground conditions turn tricky or plants sit close by. He works alone so costs stay down, shows up when promised, communicates changes clearly, and sweeps the area clean before leaving. Service covers the Clackamas area with same day or next day starts once the bid is accepted.

Reviewers note the same strengths again and again: solid construction that holds up on slopes, fair pricing that undercuts other bids, and steady updates from start to finish. The business holds a 5 rating from 31 Google reviews. DIRT Score 4.5 from 31 reviews on Finds.

“Can’t say enough about how much we enjoy our new fence and gate made by Alex / Veteran Fence Experts! He is dedicated to making it right and really came through for us where our roots and sidewalks became a challenge. He even went above and beyond to help maintain our retaining wall for our artificial grass. We checked out other local businesses and everything felt like a sales pitch. I appreciate this small business and that Alex was the point of contact and the one doing the job!”

“Terrific fence contractor! Alex just put up 60 feet of fence for us under challenging conditions and within 2 feet of a newly installed garden border filled with delicate plants. From beginning to end, he was professional, on time, on budget, a responsive and pleasant communicator. He was very helpful in suggesting the best type of fence for our situation. The fence is beautiful and well built from excellent quality wood. And he did it all without stepping on a single one of our new plants! We will absolutely be hiring him again for more work and recommending him to everyone we know.”

“Veteran Fence Experts did a great job rebuilding our gate. He was very professional during the process. It was a great experience working with them and I recommend him for all your fencing/gate needs.”

“Alex was great to work with! He installed 6' black chainlink fencing in my back yard (about 250') and most of it was sloped so it was a tricky job. Very happy with how it turned out.”

“We had such a great experience with Veterans Fence Experts. Alex was awesome to work with—friendly, professional, and clearly takes pride in his work. Our backyard fence turned out beautiful, and the whole process felt smooth and stress-free. It’s hard to find people who are this dependable and do such quality work. We’re so happy with how it turned out and would absolutely recommend Alex and Veterans Fence Experts to anyone needing fencing work.”

“I recently had 70 feet of fence replaced in my backyard, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of workmanship is outstanding—the fence is sturdy, well-built, and looks fantastic. Alex was prompt, reliable, and extremely easy to communicate with throughout the entire project. On top of doing excellent work, he’s also just a genuinely nice guy, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend veteran Fence Experts to anyone looking for fence work. Five stars all the way!”

“Alex is absolutely amazing. We have had him come out and build fences 3 seperate times for a total of 650' linear feet. He had to remove many boulders and roots to dig the post holes. The finished product is beautiful. Alex is very professional and I would definitely recommend him very highly.”

“Alex was able to accommodate my specific requests, including an arched arbor over the gates. His communication from beginning to end was excellent. I've referred him to several neighbors. His craftsmanship, efficient installation, hard work, fair price and attention to detail were top notch. I highly recommend Veteran Fence Experts.”

“Alex was awesome. From quick text and phone call responses during the quoting process to clear communication leading up to the build to the actual build itself. He outlined the plan that he stuck to. The end product was top tier and the pricing was extremely competitive. I’ve had friends guess how much my fence cost and most guess 2-3 times what it actually was because the price is so competitive and it looks so good. My favorite part is the gate he installed which he welded himself so you know it’s great quality. I’d recommend Alex to everyone, I already have to many.”

“Alex was wonderful (one of the best contractors we’ve ever worked with)! Not only did he build a beautiful fence for us at a fair price, but he was on time, he communicated regularly, he used high quality materials, and he was meticulous about cleaning up and ensuring we were happy with the job. Highly recommend reaching out to him if you are in need for someone to build a fence!”

“Alex did a complete job on our fence and gate! It was completed in a day and we love the design/privacy of it. I would use his services again!”

“Best fence builder in the PNW! Great guy. Very fast and quality work. Would recommend 10/10! His pricing is very fair. Easy to work with, communicates extremely well, and cleans up the work area when he’s finished. He replaced 2/3rds of my property fence line and I get comments on it anytime anyone comes over. Still saving up to get the last section done!”

“Alex has done two fence projects for us. Both of them turned out great. His work is of the highest quality with very good pricing. I highly recommend Veteran Fence Experts!”

“Alex did a white vinyl 3 rail fence. It exceeded our expectations and was completed faster than expected. Highly recommend”

“Alex did a wonderful job on our ornamental backyard fence. It is sturdy, functional, and nice to look at it. He also was easy to work with and a great and timely communicator. Also got the fence done quickly but still high quality! Would definitely hire Alex again and highly recommend.”

“Alex and Veteran Fence is an awesome company! He has transformed my property and many of my neighbors properties with brilliant looking fencing and has incredible attention to detail. I will always use Alex and Veteran Fence Experts for future fence projects!”

“Alex is great. I had read glowing reviews about Veteran Fence Experts, so after our flimsy old fence blew down in a winter storm, we made sure to get a quote from Alex. He was honest and personable, and my husband hired him on the spot. Alex got us scheduled in very quickly, and he finished the entire fence (~1/4 acre yard) and two very sturdy gates within just a few days. I had read that Alex personally carries every board, and that he did. Our yard is on a slope, so there were some challenges, but Alex produced a strong and sturdy fence. We highly recommend Alex and Veteran Fence Experts.”

“Great communication, incredibly fair and transparent pricing. Will absolutely be my first call with any future fence issue/need/question.”

“My experience with Veteran Fence Experts was one of the best I have ever had with a contractor. Alex is friendly, communicated clearly, showed up when he said he would and built us a beautiful fence for a fair price. I will use him for future fencing needs.”

“Alex did some fencing on our property a few years ago and I called him first thing when we needed to take down a very old fence and put a new one up. Alex came out and gave us a bid within a few days. The bid was very reasonable. He was able to start the job within the month and he finished the job within a few days. We are very happy with the new fence. I highly recommend Alex because he is always on time, he communicates the job and it's details, acts professional, and does clean work. We are always happy with his work. He is dependable!! Holly & Billy Manes Boring, Oregon”
